This has just saved my wife's life. Thanks for everything you did at the Brompton!

Back in December 2016 I was a patient on Ecmo. Now 5 years on, I am ‘forever’ grateful to all the Doctors and Nurses who looked after me. I feel so ‘privileged’ to think I was placed on Ecmo in an attempt to save my life. It has been a long road to recovery, learning to walk again and breathe without an oxygen tank. I remember, at my lowest point, I wanted them to switch the machine off…. Because I couldn’t mentally, physically ‘take it anymore’. Everyday today I am humbled and so grateful that I was ‘given a second chance’ at life. Aside from COVID, Omicron, I am now dancing Argentine Tango … with a ‘fresh set of eyes’ and emotions…. I am so grateful for life and the amazing ‘team’ that got me back to enjoying life, like I have never known before. Thank You from the bottom of my heart. I recognise some of the doctors in the “Brompton” film clips….. and some special nurses who went ‘above and ‘beyond’ the call of duty. I still have the diary today that the nurses kept for me, recording my day to day progress. Thank You, Thank You. Thank You.
