    I am very glad ecovacs has entered the robot lawnmower market. For decades, it is dominated by European brands such as husqvarna and ambrogio which are dumb as rock. Hope more Chinese brands enter the competition and improve life for consumers.
    I would love to see roborock entering this market. Wonder if they are into it.

    Great video actually providing the good and bad. I do have a question about you beacon placement in the front yard. Did you have to put a beacon near/close to the road for the mower to mow the grass next to the road or did you only have it placed next to the house? Thanks (I would mind the beacons but I can't put them close to the street)

    Are there been any updates for the app since the video? Or rather how often there is one. Its currently for sale on amazon for 700€ but there are mixed reviews so not sure if to pull the trigger an buy it or wait for better options.

    Thanks a lot for this review. Very concise and to the point.
    I really would like to know how many beacons did you need to navigate through your complicated driveway.

    • @TechManPat
      @TechManPat  7 месяцев назад

      4 in total for both yards

    • @Thecaptainblackadder
      @Thecaptainblackadder 7 месяцев назад +1

      I assume 2 in the front section and 2 in the back section. None in the passage? Ecovacs say that beacons need to see each other in order to navigate. How is it able to traverse without beacons?

    Hi, I apologize for my English, but I'm using google translator. for the piece that connects the two meadows, did you simply map it as if the meadow was there? in that section do the blades turn, or is there a way to set it to pass there, but without making the blades turn?

    • @TechManPat
      @TechManPat  4 месяца назад +1

      yes, thats right. blades will spin

      @@TechManPat perfect thank you very much! when you created the map, did you necessarily have to respect the 1.5 meter width in that area?

      @AlbanoClaudio I did not, it worked fine.

    we got the ecovacs for my mother in law after seeing one of our reviews. not sure if i can afford a goat in my garden though I love the concept. our garden is rough and has hard core under some grass. other parts get a bit boggy. what do you recon? will it or won't it?

    • @TechManPat

      I dont think you will get your moneys worth, I think the grass needs to be in mint condition for this to do its part :) hope that helps

    It's "square metres", not "metres squared". 100 metres squared would be 10,000m2 or a hectare.

    • @davewellscoffee
      @davewellscoffee 3 месяца назад +1

      Not true. Either is acceptable, however if you did mistake the square of 100m for 100m^2, it would simply be 10,000m one dimensionally, not an area at all.

    This is worst product I bought for long time. It is so stupid it is hard to describe.
    Gets stuck all the time, looses connection, the beacons sometimes disconnect, map is somewhat incorrect, edges does not cut, hard to get one day without issues.
    Terrible product, please avoid at any cost!
    UPDATE
    After 56 day's the robot died and will be returned to seller.

    Who the hell will pay someone to cut their grass each week. You trying to justify the price and you adding the price is wrong. You're adding the prices thinking that the whole summer is one year that does not make sense. A simple Google search will tell you how much you should cut your grass in each season, Summer 2-3 weeks, Winter 1-12 weeks, Autumn 2-4 Weeks. With the petrol mower you can cut the grass from level 1 to level 5 and still uses the same amount of petrol, but this machine here unfortunately can't cut higher than level 2, so that means you are forced to cut the grass each week because of the limitation of the motor. So the faster you get your job done the faster you save your money. Charging this machine each week it's not saving you money in the long run.

      @Thecaptainblackadder 7 месяцев назад +2

      If you value your time more than 50 dollars an hour, you will pay someone to cut it for you. Or better, get a robot to do it.

      @@Thecaptainblackadder Must be talking to a lazy person. Yeah of course enjoy put your feet up while the machine does it all for you more time for the footy and cricket spend time with the wife and kids those times are very precious for you. For me personally I don't want to insult my work ethics thank you very much. What's next the robot takes the trash out for you I guess you don't have time for that as well haha.

      Not that it is relevant for everyone everywhere, many different conditions play in. But I need to cut my lawn every week or twice a week during high growth periods to keep it in a healthy state. Cutting from the highest to the lowest setting on a mower isn't usually recommended, but all depends on grass type ofc.
      Pro's of frequent mowing with minimal cut height is that the clippings don't need to be collected and is easier returned to the earth and benefits the grass.
      It also helps in most cases to minimize weeds since most weeds don't like the frequent cutting (ofc there are exceptions that needs mor work).
      I have areas that robots can't cut, and they are always a chore to mow each time 😆
      But I do agree that if one is to compare costs, then a 52 week cycle is not a good comparison.
      It's not really a financially good option, but it is good for your lawn when you're not an avid lawncare nut 😎
