De Wijnman's Peugeot 504 Pick Up is a project. The car is gradually entering a new phase of life and that is what we have promised to Bernard Santé, the amiable winemaker from Beaujolais. You often come across somewhat arrogant looking garage owners, who looked at the car with a bit of disdain and then grumbled something... Just give me 1400 Euro and I will fix it... Anyway, after a few months of searching and looking, I suddenly ended up at the Bekleders Lelystad and I left a message on the Voicemail. A few days later I received a call from a very friendly lady named Erna, who spoke to me politely and I sent a few photos in response to her question. When I arrived the following week with the dismantled bench, they were actually disappointed, because they wanted to see the car too!
After first repairing the bench, which came out of the workshop as new, they also tackled the door panels a few weeks later. Well then you're going to have to take a look. They made completely new door panels and reupholstered them. What a beautiful job and I would like to pay attention to that with this vlog!

Yes, guys, Friday morning in Lelystad, at Bekleder Lelystad. Very nice, they are doing something with my Peugeot 504 to make it beautiful again and I wanted to take you to such a company. I came across it on the internet, I really like it, look around you, it's not just specialized car upholstery. Here you can choose your own yarn, choose your own things, choose your upholstery, everything is custom made and everything is handmade and I think that is very special, so I am very proud to be there.

There are not that many car upholstery companies in the Netherlands anymore. But... I buy a new BMW or a new Audi and there is something wrong with it. And you take it to the garage and then they just throw in new benches or something? If you just go to the garage, they throw in a new bank. but if they end up here, we will put new pieces in the upholstery.
Mr. Matieu, How long have you been doing this job? uhh more than 40 years!... More than 40 years. Always here?.. No! I actually... am originally a construction welder, I worked a lot in construction. And then I came across an upholstery shop in Rijswijk, and I went there, had an interview. I was given a two-week probationary period and then I heard whether I had been accepted or not. And because of my creativity and dedication.... Sorry again? Crea... Crea?.....CREATIVITY Ahh OK! And then I had a permanent position within a week. And that's how I actually got into this world. hey, what types of cars, when we talk about car upholstery, all classics? or also modern cars?
During the period when I had my own company, I did a lot of Jaguars. I was also invited by Jaguar in England. I went there! Do you do more than just car upholstery? We also do rehabilitation technology, a bit of Rehabilitation Technology?... Yes, a little bit of customizing disabled chairs. Coincidentally, we are also working on that with a chair for a boy from Dronten. This is a racing seat actually for a racing car. We are just preparing it for a boy who is completely disabled. He was kicked around at school and became disabled as a result, and that is what we are going to make the chair for, so that he can sit up again...
