there are 2 major languages
low level and high level languages
low level is further classified into 2 types
machine language and assembly language.
some terms are:
ASSEMBLER
converts assembly language prog. into machine language
INTERPRETER
converts HLL into machine language by converting and executing it line by line.
COMPILER
better than INTERPRETER converts HLL prog. into machine language in one go and reports all the errors of the prog. along with the line. numbers.
