Respect to YZ shut out to New Jersey
YZ..one of the most underrated MC's ever!
YZ-a very wise man- humble and respectfull- love it!
Respect to YZ.Acid rain was my joint.
Back in the days YZ's Master Plan was one of my favorite songs/ videos.
YZ is one of the most underrated in hip hop history! Its the Return!!
underrated Legend Yz spit knowledge and Heat who was sick in the 80s and 90s missed his dreads
Back in the day I wanted YZ to be my man, seriously. The closest I could get to him was this dude that I went to high school with named Jean M. He had YZ's style, complexion and height. To tell the truth I never got at Jean either. I guess chocolate, beautiful, slinkly black men weren't feeling me at that time, but I don't care (crying), I really don't care (Ha,ha). YZ, I think you are great MC and will always be remembered by real Hip-Hop fans. Thanks for the powerful message!!!
I like how he sounds relaxed and still happy after all these years.
MASTER PLAN IS A CLASSIC! GOOD INTERVIEW YZ REAL HIP HOP FOREVER
Big up to YZ didn't know he was losing his hearing so much blessings the Nu Jerz Legend! will
This was good! I was one who appreciated YZ when no one was really onto him then. Anthony Hill. His other videos were on this site, I dont know what happened to them. Tower with The Power, and Who's that Girl. Thanks for the interview, and I'll be tuning in for more.
A legend !
I created his "YZ" logo for the ghetto's been good to me record. He's a good guy, very talented.. i'm glad to see he's still around , still wt something to say. -C
I love these shorts by D-Nice and this one here is among my faves because YZ touches on some of the most vital things in life & I dig his delivery. Just a very chill, good, down 2 earth person. I was feeling that album when it dropped.. Good memories..
The return of the holy one!!
Good wisdom from the god.
I used 2 stay up all nite, hoping and praying they would play this on the THUNDERSTORM ON POWER 99 FM w/ LADY B. or the 9 @ 9 with JO JO DAVIS yep, I'm old and I'm glad I'm old because of what YZ said about how the era of HIP HOP that he was in...(that I grew up in) HIP HOP changed the thought of those who tried to get rid of it. because of YZ and whole lot of others, HIP HOP became BIGGER THAN ANYONE EXPECTED
PH1LLY!!!! 💎⭐🌟👑
Damn you went back. Jo Jo Davis. I always thought he was Horace the Taurus when it came to reading the horoscopes

Sometimes his song, “Thinking of a Master Plan” still pops into my mind… And it still inspires me. It’s always been one of my favorites. So glad he shared it with the diaspora.

I've always liked YZ, who in the world voted this a thumbs down? That is very unfortunate about his hearing loss, I wish it could be reversed. But this was still a good interview! Thanks for posting
Legend, mad respect to YZ for his music and his wisdom. Shout to D-Nice for making this series too man
Great series of videos. I watched the ones on Special Ed and Kwame; I grew up listening to these guys, it's great to see what they're doing now and their thinking as it was in the old days and the way it is now.
man '89 was just a great year for hip hop. I had this cassette album.
Thx D-Nice! And glad to see you transition into other forms of art like this and your photography. YZ is was one of my fav artist growing up along listening to you and BDP. Hope to be legends like you in this game one day. Respect!

Yeah! No one knows that these cats grew up and became real men. This brother is a beautiful cat. Make me proud to be a black man. Moni love and Masta Ace were dope too. This project is top notch. Respect to D-nice!
Damn, I didn't know he was deaf...man, sorry to hear that. I love thinking of a master plan and his song ...sp far ...the ghetto's been good to me...Love them and still listen to them joints today while at the gym...
That album was amazing! I remeber AZ. His style was laid back and it was cool. I haven't heard anything of him since the late 80's early 90's. Glad he's still kickin'.
Dude was super nice on the mic and how he explains his story all makes sense! Peace!
thinkin' of a masterplan, makes me damn near cry when I hear him say that first line then the second one.
I'm the tower with the power!!!!! Love your music homie! I agree with every word.
Dope MC right there , he made some classics !
when I was on a day to day basis with him, his hearing loss was mainly in one ear and I remember you would have to talk to him on his "good" side... If you forgot, you'ld have half a conversation before he looks at you and says, "I'm sorry... Did you say something?" The brother is wise and doesn't mind sharing the knowledge. I'm definitely honored to call him my Big Brother... Now where's Booga Boo at? LOL One Hundred!!! Shon Pender...
word up, me too. back in the eeeeaaarly 90's after a concert, me and my homies got effed up with him and supa cat. they were both cool as hell. real down to earth, made u lose that awe struck like i'm partying with a star shit and made u see em as real humans. met domino, 69 boyz....... but i really flipped when i bumped into big boi, tommy the red ranger, and billy the blue ranger on the same elevator. i was out of my mind!!!!!!!!! hah! man boy .good times!
Thank You SOOOOOOOooo much for this Vid! YZ is one of my heros in the game!!

right!? and i was kinda young, young enough to still look at power rangers, so i was geeked! and i BATHED in southernplayalistic, so yeah man, it was surreal! funny thing is, big boi was like, "meh", and peaced out, and tommy and billy actually engaged in a conversation with me.

Well Mr. D- NICE!! It's a brand new year cant wait to see what you'll come up with. 🎊🎀🎊HAPPY NEW YEAR
you said it!
true indeed
You had a high school kid in a small town in the north of England reciting your lyrics when 'Thinking of a Master Plan' came out.
I know this video is 15+ years old but off topic back in 2002-06 I had all the Soul Rebel shirts!
Those were the days!
respect
Its the return of the funky one.
I was trying to work out why his voice has changed so much and obviously him stating his condition of being deaf has played a part in why his voice sounds different
You inspired, bro!!!

People change. You're not perfect. Remember that!
good looking D-Nice. i wonder if Trech fm Naughty by Nature and YZ ever resolve their beef from '92/93. im a fan of both and hope all is well between them.
That's what I was thinking. I recall or heard Treach took YZ video prop, which was the chainsaw on NBN 2nd album.
That's still the golden era. Even with those kind of moments.
Salute
+Nickey Black word up. i thrive from the 90's. movies, music, & the culture was so fly all day.
