And now for something different
A little musical journal entry of sorts,
A result of getting back to the “lab”
experimenting,
building layers via home recording-
A process that began my obsession with music
Let me know what you think.
I know some folks have mentioned they like to see me playing in these videos - and I’ll continue to share stuff like that! But here’s something different - an attempt to create a mood with layers of guitar sounds and imagery
Thank you for tuning in and I hope you enjoy
“Parting Waves”
like waving goodbye
Or parting waves in the ocean

I really enjoyed this. And I think the visual is paired nicely with it. Very creative intro with the typewriter I love it
This song I can see listening to it daily during a quiet wind-down part of the day it’s perfect! Well done Erik!
Oh wow, Erik, you really know how to capture the mood of tranquility! I see you're making good use of your steel guitar now :-)
Nice, reminds me of the great Hawaiian music pre 1950s.
this is a daydream masterpiece, was just listening and was moved, then I SEE the video, you, my friend, have put wonderful art into the world, thank you
Thanks so much Ken, it really means a lot to know this has an impact
Love this. About 20 years ago I made an art book called "crow tide" of grainy faded photo prints attempting to document the ebb and flow of birds in and outta this old tree in front of my house in Minneapolis.. It was a magical moment. My scrappy handmade art book didn't do the experience justice but I've kept it with all these years. Even though this music you're playing here could be considered dreamy 50s surf, for me, I'm taken to a dry, crisp, cold evening in Minnesota. A sweet precious few minutes. Thanks so much for your music.
Thank you for sharing. Really means a lot that it resonates with you and the memory of making that art book. There is something mesmerizing about watching birds ebbing and flowing together like this. I’m curious to see your art book! I really appreciate you sharing this. I enjoy making things like this-trying to channel a feeling through music and images, even if I never know how others experience it, but it really feels special to know if it stirs anything in someone else
I really love the nostalgic quality I've been hearing in your music since discovering it recently. Even without the visual aid here, it's present. I hear an impressionism that reminds me of Bix's work.
I really appreciate this thank you
Fantastic - if you put out an entire album of this kind of stuff I would pay money for it.
thank you for saying this! glad you enjoy. that is the goal. I'm working on getting my home recording workflow together, aimed at bringing to fruition more ideas in this vein. comments like this give me a boost. much appreciated.
Hi! Just letting you know I used this track to break the seal on my bandcamp page. Got some more stuff cooking that I plan to share as well

Thanks for the heads up.
I'll head over there and set up an account so I can follow and purchase.
Btw, thanks for all of the other cool uploads - it's fun to slow your arrangements down and learn them for myself.
I dig your style and execution, big time.
