Great video! Thank you! For anyone wanting to know the size of the nut on the pitman arm it’s a 33MM on my 97 TJ

I was losing my mind trying to get the input seal out, I used your method using that screw to remove also worked perfectly for me too.
    Thank you so so much.

I have a '95 YJ we call Walt up with mom and dad that I am told keeps leaking power steering fluid. Thank you for this, I hope it is the reservoir of course. I love that J.J. was a good Jeep and held the light for you.

Thank you Alex and good luck! JJ has gotten pretty good at holding the work light for me haha.

Another great how-to video! I ALWAYS look forward to your new videos! I have rebuilt many, many hydraulic pumps and motors. Any time I was showing somebody how to rebuild one, I always told them the simplest rule to installing a seal correctly, was to always put the cup towards the pressure.

Well it's been 8 months it's still holding fluid

Doesn't leak a drop! I didn't know what to expect but the seals fixed mine right up! Thanks for watching!!

Nice to see how to do something that I don’t think I have to do on mine... yet. Will definitely save this one away just in case!

Thanks Ed. Mine was in need of maintenance for sure. I never thought it would work so well! Thanks for watching. I been tied up lately. I see I have some videos of yours to catch up on!

So my 98 TJ is leaking out of the bottom only. I actually bought a used one from Craigslist because I haven't had any luck with the remans. I have procrastinated putting it on, and now I just saw this video. For 10 bucks, I may try and replace the output seals and see if I can fix it. I have procrastinated because my steering is darn near perfect. and I didn't want to take a chance that the used one was worse. but you gave me hope. i am going to order the seals and pull the box and see if I cn fix it then maybe resell my other box or just keep it around for just in case. Thanks for the video and importantly the links.

I would diffidently try the seals since everything else is great with your gearbox. Mine hasn't leaked a drop. I was a little worried but it is perfect! Good luck and thanks for watching!

I have good luck jacking it up. Then turning the wheel half way each way. most will turn from lock to lock. But halfway works better for me. Then I wait 30 minutes to an hour. Then do that step again. It can take 50 turns both ways to get the air out. But with the engine running with the tires off the ground is faster.

The last one I did was with the engine running and tires off the ground. It was a JK that I had to replace the axle after a wreck(and gearbox). You are right, it was easier with tires lifted. Thanks Pete!

I have question. In your many videos when the engine works, it is heard measured metal sound (tic-tic-tic). I hear the same sound on my TJ. Is it normal? Is it has to be? What mechanism makes this sound?

Lifters as far as I can tell. Very common. I am considering making a video replacing them. Thanks

Would those be the same seals for the 97 XJ?
