I love your videos… you are a lot like me…your sense of humor and straight forward telling of your experience…is much how I would be telling this story if it was me. I’m sorry you had to go through this experience…but I am happy you are a survivor.
Wow! You do such a good job explaining everything. You have an upbeat personality which I'm sure helped you get through everything you had to deal with. All the best to you and your family!
Thank you for your RUclips channel. I am at the stage where it is knocking at the door of the liver. Went 21 days with chemo and then a month an intravenous feeding blood transfusions hair loss and skin loss.
Thanks so much for your bravery it does make me want to be screened still terrified😢....nevertheless your story and openess could save lives henceforth i see you as a Hero and God Bless your courage..
I’ve had all the tests, had my assessment ct scan on Thursday and am due to pick up my Capecetibine and start my radiotherapy on Wednesday. Your videos are helping me a lot, thank you.
If it runs in your family your doctor may prefer (at least for your first test) that you get a colonoscopy, but definitely talk to your doctor about getting screened ASAP. They will know for sure what test is best. And of course, any test is better than none.
I had an MRI for prostate cancer. I had to do it because of a borderline PSA blood test. I was negative and it was concluded that my high PSA was caused by an enlarged prostate

I’ve done a lot of searching to find out what to expect. What it means, should I be worried, tons of confusion. Your videos have been informative and entertaining. To everyone I present well, but inside and alone, I freak out, I cry, I worry. I’m waiting to hear back for my CT appt, and learn if it has spread. So becoming educated helps me feel comforted and prepared. Thank you for sharing
Thank you 💙 As a cancer patient we learn to hide what’s going on inside of us pretty well in an attempt to look ”normal” and try to not be a burden on others. You hit the nail right on the head. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that your cancer didn’t spread 🤞🏼

I've been having bloody stool, body aches, it doesn't hurt at all, blood just came out of nowhere!! A lot! In the toilet! I feel the urge to go but when I do there's nothing. Fatigue is a big part! Been vomiting about 1-2 times a month since August....
@@SurvivorJelena I have an appointment Saturday! 3 days. Went to the ER because I was super dizzy and didn't know where I was! Still kind of dizzy. I have meds from what they gave me at the ER. It started at work. I work in food! Working on wrapping pickles, ALMOST fainted. Got SO exhausted! Didn't know where I was. Almost tripped on a box like 2ft away from me.
I’m 22 male no family history but I’ve stomach issues since I took antibiotics on a empty stomach for a week around December and I’ve had burping some bloating and also had tiny bit of blood once on stool and I recently started getting some like tightness and slight cramps in stomach just the past 2 days but also haven’t been eating healthiest. Went to my pcp doctor and he suggested probiotics. I am so scared of colon cancer idk why
Antibiotics can really mess up the balance of your digestive system, so hopefully all these symptoms are a result of that and not cancer. The probiotics can help speed up the re-balancing, so that isn’t a bad idea. It can take a while for things to normalize, but if you’re still experiencing these symptoms after a few more weeks you should reach out to your doctor again.
@@SurvivorJelena I only had not even a pea size drop of blood on my stool and I don’t have symptoms but kinda constipated but also I’m not loosing weight or nothing just kinda like a burning sensation in my stomach no nausea some constipation
I have a colonoscopy screening test in March I'm 43 no family history of colon cancer , but the reason why I went to see a GI specialist was bright red blood in stool. no stomach pain or cramps or narrow stools had constipation but no diariah...my best friend past away at 42 from stage 4 .. can it be many other things that is causing the bright red blood?
I'm so sorry about your best friend. Yes, there are other conditions that could cause the bleeding, but a colonoscopy is the best way to find out if it's any of those or cancer. I'm glad you're going in a few weeks to get a colonoscopy.
@@SurvivorJelena thank you so much your story really struck a core with me. I immediately subscribed to your channel you give many people hope! we need so much of that in life
My cologaurd test came back positive but my doctor didn't realize i had internal hemorrhoids she said that can give a false positive i had a colonoscopy 5 years ago it was normal ,anyway i have another colonoscopy next week just wondered what you thought about cologaurd tests.
I think the cologuard test is a great option to screen people that aren’t high risk and/or otherwise would be pretty hesitant to get screened. The prep for a colonoscopy scares some people so doing a test without the prep can get more people screened. Of course, if it comes back positive you have to get a colonoscopy, but if you know something may be wrong you may be more likely to follow through on the colonoscopy. I hope it’s just the hemorrhoids that gave you the positive test and everything else is ok 🤞🏼💙
This women had clear warning signs, including bleeding. and waited many months until her annual medical check up to raise any issues. Lucky to be alive. Next stage is usually spreading to liver. Main lesson is .... don’t follow her own actions.
Hindsight is 20/20. When you’re an otherwise healthy young person with no family history and most symptoms aren’t consistently present it’s easy to brush off them off as something minor.
This woman has a name, why click on her video if you’re gonna be rude? When someone is young and otherwise healthy cancer is not the first thing that comes to mind. More than half of all cancer patients are over 50, Jelena was 33 when the symptoms started and her symptoms are non specific and varied it could mean anything, there was no pain. What do you mean waited many months she went to the doctor for only one symptom which was gas and a bit of bleeding. What else could she tell the doctor? Rectal bleeding and blood in the stool is so common and it’s usually not cancer. Nobody is psychic, there was no pain associated with the blood. Most doctors may brush off a patient who thinks they have cancer due to their young age, and if they don’t have a family history they may tell you it’s IBS which is an umbrella term for multiple gastric problems.
“Clear warning signs” aren’t clear when you’re at this age. I’m 32 and I’ve lived with IBS for years but I recently noticed unusual bowel symptoms that alarmed me. I’m used to diarrhea, excessive gas, and abdominal cramps. However, I became concerned when I experienced serious constipation out of the blue along with gas bloating along my left abdomen. It took three ER trips and two follow-up appointments of being told I’m fine and it’s my anxiety before I pushed back and insisted on a GI referral from my PCP. My symptoms have been back and forth for two months and I have my GI appointment next month- I’m hoping that nothing serious is going on. I can tell you that being in your early 30s and trying to get answers is an uphill battle. You’re dismissed, ignored, and brushed off and it’s why many younger adults aren’t diagnosed until their cancer has reached an advanced stage. Colon cancer screening age needs to be lowered and medical providers need to LISTEN to their patients.
Did you have to undergo any tests for your cancer diagnosis that I didn't mention? Let me know!
I don't even know why i am on your channel but you are the best story teller since Biggie Smalls.
