Hi Chris. Thanks for a great livestream. I thought those specialty pizza at Dominos would be a hit in Australia. That really surprised me. I loved those two donuts from Krispy Kreme. Thanks for sharng and take care.
Dominos is quite popular in Australia! If you order online they’ll even send you a photo of your pizza before you pick it up or before it’s delivered!!
Here in Melbourne especially, there is a tradition of the local pizza shop, generally run buy Italian immigrants, or their descendants. Since competition is fierce, they compete on quality. Dominos is seen as a poor mass-produced quality pizza, in Melbourne at least. There are at least 6 Pizza shops within a 5 minute drive of where I live, 1 has been in business since the 70's, another from the 80's, both have loyal local customers. Coffee shops are much the same here, and is the main reason why Starbacks failed here the first time round, and now mainly focus on tourist & downtown locations in a much smaller way than before.
Mmm yum beetroot on an Aussie burger. So good. Has to be the best classic burger. Lettuce, tomatoes, onion, beetroot with BBQ sauce . Egg and bacon tooooo
The Burgers are better at Hungry Jacks 👌👌Whopper with cheese all the way 😋 yum. We have Dome Coffee restaurants in Western Australia 🇦🇺 and the coffee is lovely, no Starbucks here . Great vlog 👍👍
I was working there when they got rid of the wraps. There were two reasons why they were discontinued. Firstly at that time McDonald's was trying to simplify it's menu here in Australia, and cut back on a few items, with the wraps being a part of that. The second reason was making the wraps would slow up the production line as they were very fiddly to make compared to other items such as burgers.
I’ve always noticed that anything with chicken and a bun is called a chicken burger in Australia where as I find Americans would call it a chicken sandwhich. Also, Kim Approved ♥️🇰🇵
On Australia anything hot in a bun is a burger. Anything cold in a round bun or long bun shaped like a hotdog bun is a roll. Americans would probably call that a sandwich. Australian sandwiches are made with sliced bread.

We have a few Pizza Hut buffets left here. We have one in Omaha. I worked at McDonalds and Taco Bell in high school and Taco Bell and Pizza Hut as an adult. Krispy Kreme is another thing that failed in Australia. We still have them, but in very limited locations. They realised their error and went much smaller, so for instance, you can get a few KK doughnuts from most 7-Eleven outlets which are usually attached to petrol/gas stations. (We use petrol from petroleum, USA uses gas from gasoline.) For Aussies, a doughnut is an occasional treat when we go to a cafe for coffee. Doughnuts are not something we eat for breakfast on the run. When Krispy Kreme opened their first store in Sydney, people from Melbourne flew up to buy a box and a few more for their friends, and flew back to Melbourne the same day, because the hype made them curious to try them. However this was short lived since everyone who ate them said, “What’s the big deal? They don’t even taste as good as ours plus they’re way more expensive!” So the interest faded over time. I noticed that in Sydney, KK were being sold by the dozen for charitable fundraisers, then one day, they were just gone. A few years later, I discovered some KK doughnuts in a 7-Eleven when I stopped for petrol. They were in a small fridge at the back corner of the store. There’s a big Krispy Kreme (what does that even mean anyway? Cream isn’t crispy, nor are their doughnuts) factory a kilometre from Sydney Airport, but I haven’t been there since the pandemic started because no one has been flying.
Starbucks failed in Australia because they didn’t do their research and assumed that the American style would simply transplant into Australia and work right away. They got a rude shock! Starbucks had to redesign their whole approach which began with closing dozens of their stores. When they reopened, they streamlined it to cater for tourists looking for the American experience. Australians definitely prefer the Australian coffee culture, born of the vast Italian and Greek communities who live here and introduced us to real coffee way back in the 60s and 70s. Prior to that, Aussies mainly drank tea (we still do) and instant coffee. Thank God for our European friends who taught us everything about good coffee! Starbucks don’t sell real coffee, they sell desserts!
I prefer Red Rooster to any other fast chicken place because their chicken is moist and soft, not fried to the bone and dry like KFC, plus RR has a lot less fat and is seasoned roast chicken.
Red Rooster is Aussie. Gloria Jeans is American. Starbucks went bankrupt in Australia years ago and couldn't compete with the quality of the cafe culture here. I tried Domino's pizza, and l think it tastes like wet carboard. Taco Bills has been around for 40 years or so.

This Aussie guy is trying too hard... we don't do that in Melbourne. McDonald's coffee is an honest 4 on our city coffee scale, which is the toughest in the world. USA burgers are simply "fast food", not food. No one in Melbourne eats USA franchise burgers except for the speed that they make the slaves work. Hungry Jack's microwave their burgers, so where does "flame-grilled" come into it?
We don't do what in Melbourne? Macca's coffee isn't the greatest. They don't microwave burgers lol. Where'd you hear that from? So many Aussies on here have got so many things wrong. It's like you all are making shit up as you go.

All pizzas are extremely high in sodium, but at least at Domino’s, I can eat half a pizza if I choose wisely. At Pizza Hut, there’s no pizza I can eat, even if I was to only eat half, it would be too high! That means that all of Pizza Hut’s pizzas have at least 4000mg sodium! If you’re consuming a whole pizza from PH, you’re heading for kidney trouble and heart disease, so you might want to rethink your fast food consumption.
Mexican food is a thing in America because Mexico is immediately south of you. In Australia, the only reason we have any Mexican restaurants at all is because of migrants from South America, usually Venezuela and Peru, rather than Mexico. So all of our Mexican food is in proper restaurants not fast food chains.
Starbucks is now almost gone from Australia. Locals won't go there. They can't compete with the properly brewed coffee at cafes. Domino's tastes like cardboard. It's vile. Hungry Jack's burgers are better than McDonald's. Beetroot is awesome on a burger.
