  • Solving the modern problems we have, which toilet paper brand to buy at Costco? The Kirkland one or the Charmin one? Which is more cost effective and how much better is the Charmin one since it is obviously more expensive. Watch as I do various strength, size, and absorbency tests on the two toilet papers to see which one is better.

I've used both. Charmin for the win! The problem with the Kirkland brand is that it's way thinner and you ended up using twice as much to get the job done.

Very interesting that you and 28 others haven't bothered to notice that 'Charmin' is imprinted on every sheet of your Kirkland toilet paper. They are the same, except that the Kirkland Charmin costs about 1/2 of what you are paying for Charmin. What a country!

@@59fiftycap Yes, that is correct. However, Kirkland does not make toilet paper, or anything else. They market other manufacturers' things, like Walmart. So, you have to have other ways to find out what actual toilet paper maker is providing the product to Kirkland.

Here are my two reasons for buying Charmin over Kirkland:
    1) Charmin will often be on sale for the same exact price as the Kirkland brand (at least at my local Costco)
    2) Most importantly, my wife and I used Kirkland a few times and quickly realized that it shreds way too easily when we use it. We do not have the same problem with Charmin, therefore, for us the winner is Charmin. Shredded bits of toilet paper in our private areas is a deal-breaker.

I wish youtube had a double thumbs up instead of just a regular one thumbs because this one deserves a double thumbs up. You realize Mr. Whipple is looking for you by the way. My oldest son who is no longer with us told me years ago when the subject of bidets came up I said I didn't think a bidet would be as clean as toilet paper and his response was a classical in his David way, He said dad if you go outside and pick up some dog do do with your hands, would you wipe off your hands with toilet paper or wash them. Point taken. Now several years later I saw in one of you videos about bidets and I really didn't think you could buy one in the United States but because of that very video I bought one and they truly are much much better. Thanks again for another great video.

@BeatTheBush thnx for your great vid! matter of fact i went to buy the Kirkland bthrm tissue today as I have been since I got my costco card however i noticed that Kirkland brand raised the price from $16.49 (last time I purchased in Feb of this year) to $16.99 and it decreased the amt of rolls in every tissue from 425 rolls in Feb to only 380 rolls this time! I thought wow, they increased the price but decreased the amt of rolls! I hvn't tried Charmin brand bec it's a bit costly than the Kirkland brand, but this month Charmin is on sale at $17.99 (but they're all out sadly, I was about to try it for the first time but they're all sold out, I reckon ppl are trying to buy tissue papers again bec of the Delta variant) as opposed to the regular price of I believe $22.00 something, albeit I heard a lot of ppl were really investing on it bec they said it's much softer & thicker compared to Costco's Kirkland! There you go if buyers fr Costco haven't noticed the change, I guess they will be surprised as well! :)

2:55 kirkland, when the sheets perfs are not aligned, it means that you need to separate the 2-plies, and pull the outer ply only around the roll for one rotation. Then then perfs will be aligned.

    • @BeatTheBush

    • @alex-650

Worth noting that if you live in an old home with old plumbing, stay away from Charmin. Most plumbers will tell you to stop using Charmin because their toilet paper gets stuck in the pipes and won't dissolve as quick as thinner toilet paper. I may be wrong, but I think over the past year, Costco may have increased the diameter of the paper core ever so slightly. The core now looks a bit oversized when compared to the older rolls. By doing so and maintaining the same outside diameter of the overall full roll, that means they can reduce the thickness of the paper (and thereby lowering costs) without it being perceptible.

    • @BeatTheBush
      @BeatTheBush  Год назад

Shrinkflation they call it. Many times they don’t even have to be so sly and make all the rolls smaller. Devices gets parts with a known shorter lifespan and most consumers would know the difference. But as they make things have less value, this gives other producers to make a hit product as how it ‘used to be’. But I guess they will never make fridges that lasts 100 years anymore.

I won't buy Charmin due to their commercials. We all know what tp is for. They didn't need to paint us a picture. I also figured that the thick paper would not be good for the pipes. Just for curiosity sake, I started tracking the price of Kirkland tp during the pandemic. They reduced the square footage amount while the price has gone up up up.

Walmart has a pretty good store brand version of Charmin. It is WAY better than Kirkland.

what is the point of the water absorbency test? do you piss heavily into toilet paper? i dont know of anyone that does that. also, kirland isnt cheaper. you are paying an annual fee to Costco plus A LOT in gas to drive there vs walking to a local pharmacy or supermarket and buying the name brand.

I have two methods that will save you even more money - 1. Squat in shower while hot water runs, and use your hands and soap to wash your hole and get rid of the stink, 2. Squat in shower while hot water runs and wipe butt hole with a small wet hand towel with a little bit of soap on it. When done put the towel with your dirty clothes so its ready for next use :)

at school 2 or 3 days per week they replace the LOCKED toilet paper and put the remaining rolls above the dispenser. I watched and if those small rolls are not used they end up in the trash on fridays.
maybe not the most sanitary thing but since I get to school very early I check the closest bathroom and if there are any new almost-full rolls I throw away the outer 2-3 layers away and take home the rest.
This used to be enough toilet paper to not have to buy any if I spend a lot of time at school but now with covid and 85% of students being remote, I have so much toilet paper omg idk.
the janitors are throwing away like 85% complete rolls but I havent bought toilet paper for 6 years and probably have enough to last 4 more years.
also you would be surprised how wasteful some people are with tp. i think covid really made that apparent. there are some people who legit use almost 15-30 squares each time and can go through a roll per day lol wtuf.
not good for the environment. the gov should do a psa or teach it in elementary school instead of raising taxes on electricity companies to fight global warming
