They look excellent! I'm not sure of the combination of peanut butter and chocolate (tho I do like peanut butter); but you showed how very easy they are to make. Maybe one could improvise with perhaps a cherry in the center, or a small marshmallow... Of course, the cherry would have to be soaked in brandy, French Brandy naturally, but I would imagine that one's imagination could run away with them on ideas for the center of these cups. That looks amazing Matt. I think that can be easily converted onto a Keto recipe with just a few substitutions. That's cool ! By chance do you have a chocolate cherry recipe? Just curious. Lol.
Hi, this looks great but i have a question. Peanut butter in regular Reese’s is very salty (thats why i love it). But you don’t put any salt. Instead of you add sweet. Is it really tastes like Reese’s or something similar with chocolate and peanut?
Great question, I don't like the salt in the Reese's that is why for me these are "Better Than Reese's". But you can always add 1/2 tsp. of salt in with the peanut butter if you like. The best thing to do is to make them and try them yourself. And see what you think. :) Maybe do a side by side taste test. :)
Hi, Nutella doesn't harden the way chocolate does. But you can certainly try it. :) You could use Nutella and then freeze it. But it will definitely get really soft at room temp. But give it a try and find out for yourself, that is what makes learning fun, trying things out.
You can try it, but I don't think it will work very well, the reason why the powdered sugar works is it also helps to turn the consistency of the peanut butter into more of like a play dough, without making it too sweet. If you don't have powdered sugar, what I recommend is just put a layer of chocolate down first in the paper cup then put that in the fridge for like 10 minutes to firm up. Then just spoon normal peanut butter on top, without adding any extra sugar, then add another layer of chocolate. I just think it will get way to sweet if you use regular white granulated sugar or brown sugar.
Hello Chua, it depends on the yeast you are using, and how much you are using. Also too long of rising time might make it taste yeasty. If the recipe calls to let the dough rise for 2 hours, or until doubled, if the dough has doubled after only 45 minutes or an hour, then it is ready. Also if you are having trouble with yeasty bread, try using a little less yeast.
Will using half the amount of yeast that the recipe calls for makes a big impact to the product ? I will try your recipe with the machine one day and let you know. Cheers
It might effect it a little bit. If you follow my bread recipe exactly, it shouldn't have a yeasty taste. At least it never does when I make it. haha :)
Like I said in the video you can use whatever chocolate you want and whatever nut butter that you want, especially homemade organic peanut butter. And making them at home will be much cheaper than buying the Justin Organics ones. At Walmart it is like $2 and you only 1 package of 2 peanut butter cups. That is the beauty of making them at home, much cheaper, and you can make many different varieties and combinations.
@@inthekitchenwithmatt I just thought that the peanut butter in a Reese's is a little darker than yours. Guess it doesn't make a difference, just thought it would be better. lol
@@janetshelton8948 lol nah it wouldn't make a difference. Now if you wanted to add a different flavor to the peanut butter like a little Nutella, that would make it darker. But there really is no reason to try and color it darker. Remember these are "Better than" Reese's not trying to be an identical copy of them. :)
Love your chanel, Mat! I've tried some of your recipes and they're all great! Are you familiar with Crinkles? Can you pls make it? I trust you when it comes to sweets! 😊
Adam that is a pretty specific filling it is hard to match the exact texture and taste because it is made in a factory, and also has preservatives to make the shelf life so much better. These homemade versions are much better in my opinion. You may be able to find another recipe that has a closer match to the store bought Reese's.
Yes!!! After the first layer of chocolate and then the peanut butter disc, add a bit of jelly like half of a tsp or a full tsp on top of that. Then pour the top layer of chocolate. Tasty!!!
Thank you Naeem! hahaha :) Yeah the facial hair is a new thing for me, I am not used to it yet, so it is pretty itchy haha. I am only doing it for Halloween though.
It is in the description box. If you are on a mobile, down in the right corner right under the video there is a triangle, click on that and it will reveal the description box.
@@inthekitchenwithmatt i just used côté d'Or milk chocolat, where i live they don't really sell chocolat meant for melting. it was also refrigerated right after pouring it, but it is actually starting to set now! :)
The powdered sugar isn't that sweet. You need something to make the peanut butter not sticky and get the right texture. That is what the powdered sugar does. But yes they are sweet they are a dessert and are supposed to be sweet. :) :)
It doesn't burn if you do it correctly like I mentioned bursts of 30 seconds and stirring. The double boiler method is also a good way to melt chocolate if desired. I have many videos that already show that method. I have been melting chocolate for many many many years.
Isabella, these aren't cookies. When you say they didn't work what do you mean? How didn't they work? I have made them countless times, they definitely work.
@@inthekitchenwithmatt sorry nothing beats the original , i haven't tried this but i have tried similar recipes and i dont think its better its just good but not better than reese's
@@CipherVaults Try this one, you may be surprised. :) everyone I talk to that eats these like them better than Reese's. But everyone has their own tastes. haha.
Look down in the description box the full list of ingredients are there. But you can make them without the amounts. Start with some peanut butter add a bit of butter then start adding powdered sugar until you get the play dough consistency. This is one recipe that doesn't have to be exact by any means.
hahaha, powdered sugar while made from granulated sugar is not the same as far as calories, etc. For example if you were substituting powdered sugar for granulated, you would need 1 3/4 cup for 1 cup of granulated. But at any rate, peanut butter cups are supposed to be sweet. :) You can reduce the sugar a bit, but then the peanut butter gets super sticky and his hard to work with. But if you are making them, they are your peanut butter cups, so make them how you like. :) :) You can't go wrong and are easy to make your own variation.
A lot of people don't use butter Adam. If they are allergic to dairy, or maybe they are Vegan, etc. I love butter and use it all the time. But not everyone feels that way. So don't judge them too harshly. :)
hahaha yeah, well peanut butter cups in general even store bought ones are high in sugar to begin with. I would suggest trying them as is first, and then play around with the amounts. Or if you want a healthier version, I made a video called Keto Peanut Butter cups which are made with sugar free chocolate chips and there is no sugar added to the peanut butter. ;)
Honesty, I don't get why everyone who shares this same store bought peanut butter and confectioners sugar recipe raves about it being "better than" Reese's. I was first taught this recipe years ago by my second grade science teacher. I found it mediocre then and still do now. Way too sweet and completely wrong consistency. Gave away all the ones I made. So far nothing rivals a real Reese's cup for my taste. Will keep searching because being able to make my own would be plain cool. In the meantime I'll continue to buy Reese's when the craving strikes.
To each their own. Everyone has their own tastes. Reese's is too salty for me. I prefer homemade hands down. Plus you can use all kinds of different nut butters and different kinds of chocolate. Like a 70 percent godiva or lindt dark chocolate bar. Usually when I make these for a party I do an assortment especially of dark and milk chocolate varieties. Also Paul have you ever thought that people like making this easy homemade version because they know exactly what is going into them? That isn't my reason, I don't get too hung up with that stuff and don't mind eating store bought or processed food, but a lot of people are more health conscious then me, LOL. Anyways, if on your search you find a better recipe send it my way I will try it out. 👍
@@inthekitchenwithmatt Fair enough, Matt. Perfectly understandable, different tastes etc. Also being able to experiment with the different chocolates is one of the main things that I find so enticing about the idea of homemade cups. By chance do you have a chocolate cherry recipe? Just curious. Lol.
Thanks J! I am sure I can come up with something for that chocolate cherry! :)
Subscribed from Los Angeles 👍🏻
Thank you! :)
Wow thank u👍🏻
You are welcome! :)
Looks delicious & simple! Thank you for sharing. 👻🎃👻🎃👻
Thank you!! :) They are! haha
Do you have any idea how to make diabetic peanut butter cups
Hi Marjorie, you can try this Keto Version. It may work for Diabetics. ruclips.net/video/cVqkyDCcL44/видео.html
Can we use nuttella?
Hi, Nutella doesn't harden the way chocolate does. But you can certainly try it. :) You could use Nutella and then freeze it. But it will definitely get really soft at room temp. But give it a try and find out for yourself, that is what makes learning fun, trying things out.
hello, what's the shelf life of the product, thank you. does it have to be refrigerated at all times?
It will last 2 or 3 weeks in the fridge. If your house is cooler inside, you can store them at room temp as well.
@@inthekitchenwithmatt how can I make it last longer plz?
@@cyrilz764 You can freeze them.
Hahaha I was kinda confused when you said mix the butter with the peanut butter haha by the way nice video, gonna make it for New Year.
hahaha :). Thank you so much! Same to you! Happy New Year
Yo Matt can i use regular Sugar or Brown Sugar For This
You can try it, but I don't think it will work very well, the reason why the powdered sugar works is it also helps to turn the consistency of the peanut butter into more of like a play dough, without making it too sweet.
Thanks Matt i'll try it in a few days
@@XPATHGAMES You are very welcome! Let me know how they turn out. :)
@@inthekitchenwithmatt ok i will
@@inthekitchenwithmatt update : it worked fine tasted really good 👍
Hi Matt, how r u ? I like to ask your opinion about bread making...why does homemade bread smell or taste too yeasty ??
Hello Chua, it depends on the yeast you are using, and how much you are using. Also too long of rising time might make it taste yeasty. If the recipe calls to let the dough rise for 2 hours, or until doubled, if the dough has doubled after only 45 minutes or an hour, then it is ready. Also if you are having trouble with yeasty bread, try using a little less yeast.
I am making it with a BREAD MAKER machine. Can I use your old white bread recipe to make in my machine? Thank you for replying
@@henry1667 give it a try. :) I never use bread machines haha. :) I always do it by hand. So I am not an expert with the bread machine.
Will using half the amount of yeast that the recipe calls for makes a big impact to the product ? I will try your recipe with the machine one day and let you know. Cheers
It might effect it a little bit. If you follow my bread recipe exactly, it shouldn't have a yeasty taste. At least it never does when I make it. haha :)
very nice👍👍
Thank you! :)
This recipe is great, but Justin's Organics makes a dark chocolate peanut butter cup as well as varieties with alternative nut butters.
Any tips on how to make it so when I take it out my fridge it doesn’t melt straight away?
If using real chocolate, you need to temper it. Otherwise use the "candy melts" chocolate, which don't melt as easily at room temperature.
How do you made these peanut butter cup
How do I make these? Watch the video, I show you how to make them. :)
Anyway you can make the peanut butter darker?
Hi Janet why would you want to make the peanut butter darker?
@@inthekitchenwithmatt I just thought that the peanut butter in a Reese's is a little darker than yours. Guess it doesn't make a difference, just thought it would be better. lol
What do you think?
@@janetshelton8948 lol nah it wouldn't make a difference. Now if you wanted to add a different flavor to the peanut butter like a little Nutella, that would make it darker. But there really is no reason to try and color it darker. Remember these are "Better than" Reese's not trying to be an identical copy of them. :)
@@inthekitchenwithmatt Ok, Thanks so much! Always wanted to make them homemade! Janet
Why do you do this to us? Your gonna make me buy a bunch, I have a weaknesses for Reese's! Or maybe I should just make them 😄
NO don't buy them. lol, make some homemade ones, and you will never want to eat store bought ones again!!! Lol :) :)
Hmm I am going to have to try it out then 😄 I honestly think they put something in the store kind to make you addicted to them lol
@@LydiaApril lol they might. haha

YUMMY 😋 THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟❤️🖤💚🤎 FAMILY DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 AWESOME PEANUT BUTTER CUP,
Glad you like it! :)
How do the get the actual reese's cups penut butter filling texture? I'm trying to match that
Adam that is a pretty specific filling it is hard to match the exact texture and taste because it is made in a factory, and also has preservatives to make the shelf life so much better. These homemade versions are much better in my opinion. You may be able to find another recipe that has a closer match to the store bought Reese's.
1:32 But But But... PEanut Butter is already a Butter... So how would i add a jam to make it a pbj cup? jsut pour it over the pb?
Yes!!! After the first layer of chocolate and then the peanut butter disc, add a bit of jelly like half of a tsp or a full tsp on top of that. Then pour the top layer of chocolate. Tasty!!!
Do you have any suggestions for substituting the peanut butter? I wanna be creative!
Any of the nut butters. Almond butter, cashew butter, etc. :) :)
how much chocolate , peanut butter and powered sugar do we need to use (in grams)
Hello Kerry, look below the video in the description box. I have the ingredients and their amounts in both American Standard and Metric. :)
are there no measurements for the amount of pb or powdered sugar?
Did you look in the description of the video? :)
@@inthekitchenwithmatt ohh didnt see it thank you very much :))

Want to thank you 40 Years I tried making nothing work yours work
You are so very welcome Joyce. Did you use candy melts or real chocolate?
My mom has always wanted to make homemade peanut butter cups because she likes dark chocolate and Reese’s doesn’t have them
Yeah it is so fun to use different chocolate with it too. You can make dark, milk, semi-sweet, white, etc. :)
Use egg cartons
Great idea, if you don't have a mini muffin pan!
REESE’s company:say sike right now
hahaha
How much PB .?
1/2 cup the ingredients are all listed in the description box beneath the video.

I tried it but for some reason the chocolat never set.. I waited overnight but it's like fudge. :(
mmm what kind of chocolate did you use? Did you put it in the refrigerator?
@@inthekitchenwithmatt i just used côté d'Or milk chocolat, where i live they don't really sell chocolat meant for melting. it was also refrigerated right after pouring it, but it is actually starting to set now! :)
more sugar than peanut butter :O this must be a lot sweeter...
The powdered sugar isn't that sweet. You need something to make the peanut butter not sticky and get the right texture. That is what the powdered sugar does. But yes they are sweet they are a dessert and are supposed to be sweet. :) :)
There's a easy way to make Reese's
For sure! It doesn't get much easier than this. haha
use your bouble boiler so it doesnt burn
It doesn't burn if you do it correctly like I mentioned bursts of 30 seconds and stirring. The double boiler method is also a good way to melt chocolate if desired. I have many videos that already show that method. I have been melting chocolate for many many many years.
If you dont eat your peanut butter cups frozen then youre sacrilegious.
LOL. Um no. While they are good frozen, I guarantee you most people do not eat them frozen.
You didn't give the measurements like cups in teaspoons
Look in the description box you will find all the measurements.

My sister is being dumb and using normal sugar instead of powdered sugar
haha :)
I made his cookies they didn’t work
Isabella, these aren't cookies. When you say they didn't work what do you mean? How didn't they work? I have made them countless times, they definitely work.
In The Kitchen With Matt I mean I tried making your cookies and I don’t no why but it came out of the oven raw do you have any tips
“Better than Reese's Peanut Butter Cups”
No.
Yes. :) Have you tried them? Or do you just think that. If not, make them and do a comparison.
But everyone has their own tastes. haha.
How are you suppossed to make these not knowing an quanitied you never said
Look down in the description box the full list of ingredients are there. But you can make them without the amounts. Start with some peanut butter add a bit of butter then start adding powdered sugar until you get the play dough consistency. This is one recipe that doesn't have to be exact by any means.
I want to make them but the amount of sugar you out scared me
hahaha, powdered sugar while made from granulated sugar is not the same as far as calories, etc.
If you dont have butter to use you shouldn't be cooking
A lot of people don't use butter Adam. If they are allergic to dairy, or maybe they are Vegan, etc. I love butter and use it all the time. But not everyone feels that way. So don't judge them too harshly. :)
That's waaay too much sugar
Not really. Powdered sugar is totally different then granulated sugar. Don't knock it until you try it. ;)
@@inthekitchenwithmatt I guess... It just hurt my teeth while watching but I'll let you know when I've tried
hahaha yeah, well peanut butter cups in general even store bought ones are high in sugar to begin with.
Glad you found a recipe that works for you. If I do ever find one I like I'll be sure to share it. While you and I may not share the exact same flavor profile preferences, I'm sure with your platform you'd make plenty of other folks happy by providing an alternative recipe. Cheers!
@@extrasmack Thanks Paul! Yeah it is fun to be able to make a variety of flavors for people, and then poll them to see which ones they like the best. haha. Have a great weekend! :)
Try adding a little graham cracker crumbs to mimic the texture of the Reeses PB.
Nah, I don't like them like that. When I first use to make them years and years ago I use to put it in. But the originals don't have graham cracker in them either. I have made them several different ways over the years, in my opinion this is the best, haha.
Looks good and easy 😍❤️
Thank you! It really is! :)
