Greetings from the U.K. , I love Texas , I really want to do a trackday at the Circuit of Americas in Austin.. most of my family are in Sacramento California, so I am pretty sure that dream will come true .. nice of you to get in touch , look after that lovely bike of yours ;)
It's a nice looking example. I had the 600F model as my first bike and would have progressed to the 1000, except Honda released the blackbird and I fell for them.
She looks great, and can look better once you’ve done the few things you mentioned. 👍🏼 I have a ‘91 CBR1000F, 23k miles in the Benetton colour scheme. It’s all original, including the exhausts. Like you, I always wanted one back in the 90’s. 😁 You have some lovely other bikes too! I really like and also want an earlier GSXR1100 👌🏼 I have a few other bikes as well, a ‘99 Suzuki TLR, ‘98 GSXR750 SRAD, ‘99 Honda 900RR Fireblade, Kawasaki ZXR750 H2, and a ‘04 Kawasaki ZX12R Cool video my friend, keep hold of the CBR 😉🤙🏽
Wow, what a lovely comment Wayne I would love a TLR They are just absolute thunder And Benetton colour scheme sounds epic You certainly have owned some stunning appreciating classics in the past , that’s for sure
Good to see this and hear that you enjoy the bike. I have just recommissioned a 1987 model. I made sure everything was sound mechanically, the motor is fantastic, I did some tidying up to the body, but, like yours, its a workhorse so patina is fine by me. I love the simplicity of these bikes, easy to work on and maintain.
I’d love a full restoration to be honest It’s a lovely bike and rides amazingly well but at some point I feel like it does deserve a proper looking over and going through everything Let’s see Lovely to hear what you have done to your bike True appreciation for a wonderful machine
What a beautiful bike. I've always wanted one, but wasn't able to find a decent example. Now having 10 other bikes, I wouldn't have the room anyways. Lol. Keep up the great videos and hello from auburn California
Hey Rick, nice to hear from you , California is close to my heart , most of my family are in elk grove California… Well if you have 10 bikes I am pretty sure they are all special but I have noticed that these particular Hondas are very close to people’s hearts . I really hope you source , you and I both know that space can always be made ;)
Fully agree that bikes are to be ridden...they are beautiful pieces of machinery, no doubt, but they are made to be ridden. A bike sitting is a bike rotting...
Really well said , I actually took it through its paces to a trip to wales recently and I wasn’t yearning for more power I absolutely loved the smooth power flow and plenty of power
Whenever I hear the word sportbike/superbike as a 90's kid, immediately this bike Honda CBR1000F and Ducati 996/998R comes to my mind. these were the posters on my wall and had them as my wallpapers on my old computer. these two bikes mainly for me represents the silhouette of a sportbike when it comes to design and look. dreamed of owning both of these beauties and Will definitely own both as soon as I can :). When it comes to sportbike the only 3 bikes i definitely want to own are these 2 i just mentioned and the daytona 675R. For some reason I just love the daytona 675R in the modern middleweight segment. it's unfortunate they discontinued. Speaking of Kaho na pyaar hai, I was 13 then and was studying in 8th std when it released. I remember watching it in theatre and I was the only one among the boys who recognised the bike just from the front look because i used to stare at this bike every day all the time :)
mate, this is such a beautiful comment , wonderfully worded.. thanks for your input and apologies for the late reply , some comments slip away from the net... Mine and your bike choices are very similar , I abslultey love the 675R and the 996 and I am glad you mentioned 998 as not many people mention that... that Kaho na pyaar hai movie and I think another movie which was Fardeen Khan's first movie , probably prem agan , I might be wrong , he had a dual round headlamp Kawasaki and after watching that I bought my retro triumph and suzuki with the same headlight ... somethings leave a mark in our hearts and minds and kids .. sometimes we are lucky enough to fulfil those dreams of owning such bikes, thanks again mate
@@ChasingTenths no worries.. these nostalgias when it comes to bikes and cars is that we lived and grew up in the beat era for bikes and cars and movies. It's funny you mentioning the imperfections of your bike! My '88 Hurricane was crashed on both sides and left outside uncovered for 18yrs! My dream is for it to be in the condition of your bike.
Thank you very much , I think after the recent valet and wax, the bike looks pretty good but under the skin there is a lot of surface rust but I do appreciate this bike a lot and absolutely love it and the cult following it has
My older mate (I was about 18, and him 30) had one of these. We worked in a truck garage and nobody would get on the back of it. Well, one day he promised me he’d take it easy. On the way to the bike shop it was rather pleasant. On the way back, I just remembered seeing the long stretch in front and he opened it up 👀. I was holding the grab rail and I almost fell off the back. It was only my legs gripping tight onto his thighs that stopped me coming off. 100+ mph. I don’t know what to say other than I nearly came off by the skin of my teeth 😅😅 good times 👀
Looks great from a distance mate 😂. Just don't slow down enough for anyone to notice the rough bits. Really should cut it some slack, it's 30 odd years old!!!
@ChasingTenths you could make a decent series reviewing these mate. Get some on bored footage, do some DIY service vids maybe? It's all good evidence on the CV for the next bike magazine interview 😜
Hi mate just sold my 1990 model had full Delvic system had to tig the link pipes up due poor qaulity stainless re polish clean full system. I did also cut my cans down to stubby size bike sounded amazing also peppped up performance a bit 17:25
Aaahh I wondered why some delkavic cans are smaller , that makes sense now … I did think of going that but I just don’t ride the bike enough , this year I’ll be riding it more . I bet you miss the bike after selling it It’s one of those bikes which stays in one’s heart for life
I hope one day I'll have one... drove one 15 years ago, she was in a really bad shape with no fairings... felt really heavy 😅 and scary...but it's still one of my favorite motorcycles ever...
Beautiful bike mate. I will give you a few years and this bike will be like new. You are welcome for plastic welding 😊. Bring next time we will ballance carbs 🏍🏍

Definitely, I have realised that there are more problems to be had if the bike is standing in the garage for a while …
