@@thebrickpilot well technically, clones are a few years old as well. As kids, they were bred to fight, risen with that purpice only in mind. Oh and they were ditched in the gutter once the war against seppies was over.

The little fruit build inside the crate is a meiloorun, Hera’s favorite fruit, featured prominently in the fun Rebels arc where Ezra and Zeb try to smuggle some for Hera and end up stealing a TIE which later ends up getting the galaxy’s best paint job from Sabine!
I knew it was that!! I mixed it up with the Jogunfruit tho😅 Hard to keep track of all the fake Star Wars crops lmao
+ when Zeb/Ezra (not sure which one) has to impersonate imperial on comms he uses alias Commander Meilooron

I’m curious if you could mod the old Phantom to fit into this ghost. I think the weird fruit thing is meant to be a Meiloorun. They were a fruit that Hera liked in Rebels.
I had same thought about the meiloorun. You'd have to rebuild the Phantom I to fit this Ghost because it's way to big to be in scale.

It’s DEFINITELY a meiloorun. That said, they only feature heavily in one episode(Fighter Flight) of the first season so they aren’t really comparable to, say, blue milk in regards to ubiquitousness.
I'm very excited about this set to be in my hands. Also, I believe that the carrot looking thing might be a reference to the Meilooruns in Star Wars Rebels.

I do find it interesting that most reviewers seem to assume that the smaller, higher cockpit ( 5:13 ) is the gunner's seat. The lower, rounder dome is the gunner's seat, as it's closer to the cannons and has a greater field of view for targeting enemies. always irritates me when people get it wrong haha, it's basically the same setup as a B-17 Flying Fortress Bomber, the Ghost even has the little bubble turret on top.

@@Ky-xm7tc well, the set was released 9 years ago, so they clearly aren't scalpers but investors. Since Zeb isn't in the set and some parts remain exclusive to the first ghost, I highly doubt that the price will drop significantly.
That said, I'm glad lego had an opportunity to make the ghost again. I skipped the first one because of it's relative uglyness to my personnal taste. I will most likely purchase this one later this year

Judging from the design of the Phantom II, it looks like you could potentially take off Chopper’s head and attach it to the three studs on the starboard side, since there’s actually an astromech port around that area.

This set looks absolutely stunning! Missing out on the first one, even though this version doesn’t have the full ghost crew being based on Ahsoka, it’s still awesome! Also, something about the box just pops like it makes me excited when looking at the box.
The fruit in the box is called meiloorun its from rebels season 1 when zeb and ezra were sent by hera to get that fruit and there was an adventure while they got it
A few reviewers seem to call the upper cockpit the gunner and the lower cockpit the ship's controls, but that's backwards. Top cockpit controls the ship, lower one controls the front guns.

I never fell in love with the ship but something about it made me jump on it right away. I think it’s because of the size and just the fact that it’s two ships in one. This is the set that I’m most hyped for and it’s the reason I pre-ordered it once it went up on Amazon, which I’ve never done before!
Wauw I am pumped up for this set. I know the designer behind, Jme Wheeler, and I told him how the first pics got people worried about the Phantom II and the overall size, but now I can tell him how well it is received. He is such a brillant designer that visit the LEGO House shop nearly everyday after work to talk with fans😁
The ghost was such a satisfying set in its first iteration and it looks even smoother and more awesome now!
The carrot thing is referencing the meiloorun fruit from Star Wars rebels I think. If it is that is one hell of a great inclusion

When I got the og ghost as a kid my biggest problem was the interior and how hard it was for me to get the figures inside, the phantom 1 definitely looks better but the ghost is vastly improved.
I'm like, 90% sure that food in the box was a Meiloorun fruit, which is Hera's favorite, and had a whole episode about it in Rebels

I just wanted to say, i really appreciate that you do comparisons with past sets. I don't really see anyone else doing that, and especially for the gunship and ghost I was really curious. I actually picked up the 2013 gunship last month as a birthday gift for myself, i was hopeful for the gunship leaks when they first started but honestly as soon as we knew it was the Coruscant special I knew I still needed to get my hands on the 2013 model before it got even more expensive! This Ghost looks still not perfect but so much better than the last variant and I am so excited to switch them out in my collection!

The Carrot-esque thing in the crate might be a meiloorun fruit, Hera's favourite, as seen in rebels.
The old phantom looks like it was better in scale to the minifigures, but not so much in the same scale as the old ghost. Hopefully we get a UCS set down the line and they are more to scale with each other and minifigs.

I think these sets will all sell well independent of the quality of the show. The ghost, T6 and E-wing are all popular ships and the sets are detailed & full of colour (which gives them a lot more shelf appeal than generic all-grey ships).
I am pleasantly surprised. I had a good feeling about this set when I first saw images of it but never did I expect them to surpass the original version like this with the way LEGO Star Wars is handled these days. I never bought the original one and I regret that so I'll definitely pick this up.
I’m actually glad they did not include the Ahsoka figure. That’s my biggest complaint with all the Mando sets is that he is in every set even if he is not relevant to the set. Example Fang vs Tie Interceptor.
David (another David here) am I pumped. Pre-ordered and September 1st can’t come fast enough. The rear printing for Chopper was a surprise and he’s white now not grey. I love the play functions and the interior and the two ramps is great. I agree Phantom II is small but looks good when you compare the size of the Ghost in scale. Overall this looks great, and I can’t wait. Sad the top canopy is a sticker (that’s gonna be a nightmare), and I wish there was a front ramp. Two things I must point out is the “ghost logo”, that is on Hera’s back, is not on the nose underside, considering the amount of stickers. Also, in universe, the engines glow orange not blue, so run to your parts bin to get the correct pieces. Overall, a win!
I keep hoping Lego will do a UCS version of the Ghost someday. Hopefully Ashoka will be popular enough to encourage them to make one.

I’m so happy with this set and can’t wait to get it. I feel like classic Lego is back slowly. I haven’t seen a ship set this beautifully done since the Quinn jet avengers set. Other than the razor-crest.

This set looks amazing! Day 1 buy for me!
I pre-ordered this set almost as soon as it was revealed, so I'm happy to see that you think it's such a good set. I think the only big disappointment of this set is the large number of stickers. For $160, I would've liked to see a few more printed pieces aside from just the front turret. I especially think the cockpit windscreen should've been printed. Additionally, I would've loved to see another big character in the minifig selection. Hera being here is great and makes sense, but her and Chopper are the only figs I care about right now. I would've loved to see just one more big character, like Ahsoka Sabine or Thrawn (although Ahsoka and Sabine being together in the Ahsoka's T-6 makes a lot of sense).
maybe the “carrot” looking thing is supposed to be a Meiloorun? That would be my best guess, as it would make it perfect sense as a little easter egg.

I think you don't have to depend on the new Ahsoka show to buy this. If already a fan of Rebels, and I am, this was pretty much a no-brainer to get, regardless.
I had not too longago picked up a Ghost w/ Phantom 2 scale model from the X-Wing RPG games which looks great. Even have some older Hot Wheels versions of the Ghost. Can't get enough Ghost, I guess. I REALLY want to get the new HasLab Ghost. But, it's simply too big for my living space and wont have any room forn that one.
I didnt want to buy this set even as a big rebels fan, but it looks great and i will definitly buy one!

Here in NZ its Amazon exclusive, Not sure if we can get toys from them down here. I still have the old Ghost and both Phantoms boxed but it may be time to get them out of storage. I love how the new set has the Phantom at a smaller size, just looks better.
Great for those who missed out on the og but I’ll be passing on this version, I still think the older one is better, tho I may mod it soon for an interior

4:50 I'm pretty sure this is a reference to the Rebels TV show. One episode features Ezra and Zeb going to buy a rare fruit but they end up getting a tie fighter or something and cause a big battle or something. It kind of a meme.

The ghost is in the andor show was rewatching the Star Wars shows and movie in time line order and saw it on episode 2 at 5 min thought it was interesting to see it in something that wasn’t animated
4:53 I think that's supposed to be a Maylouron (or however it's spelled), from the episode where Ezra and Zeb stole the TIE fighter.
This is the best set of the wave by far no one can change that for me
