I really like this figure. A lot more than I anticipated.its my favorite of this wave.
Seems like Big Boa should have been a wrestler. Wearing red Demolition-esque straps and using the name of a snake that is known for strong holds.
Overall, that seems to be the best Brad Garrett figure ever made.
Boa hurt Joes. Me want Boa.

I had him as a kid, so I'm definitely partial to the helmeted look. I liked that you could throw his boxing gloves on other figures.
He reminds me of the mad max the road warrior villain humongous. With the spiked overall harness he wears. Love his mask you can make him cobra commanders body guard 😅. Awesome fig had him as a kid. This and techno viper give me a nostalgia super high.
I think that may be one of the guys he’s based on

A great review as usual, but I think this figure is a bit silly but still has a bit of the cool factor.
Oh he’s always been silly and stupid, but there is something about this figure that I can see using in pics across lines.

Big boa was originally supposed to be rocky balboa. For the real life joes. Like sgt slaughter and the fridge. But I think LJN was making rambo and the force of freedom toys. And the rival line didn’t want to compete. So sky bowed out. So rocky became a cobra villain. And we got big boa
Actually Big Boa was supposed to be Rocky’s counterpart but the Rocky thing fell through because of the Rambo line. It’s all in the JLS Comics video I posted a link to.
At the time, Hasbro wanted to use likenesses of real world people for the GI Joe figures. Yeah, I remember a figure based on a football player as a mail away. He came with a football flail.
I wonder if the football player was supposed to featured in the movie instead of the basketball player.

His attire spikes are not sharp, but I bet they'd hurt like hell if you stepped on him 😆 I was surprised that they gave him bloody hand wraps, on a figure for "4+"? *wink wink* 🙄
They could have made Boa even cooler as a delux with a weight bench and punching bag along with what he did come with. He really is a cool looking Cobra. I know he is not very well known but i seem to like those charachters like him and crock master
Like you I didn't have Boa has a kid and no connection to the character but after you posed him beating up Chuckles I might have to buy it......😊
For a figure that comes with very little in the accessories department there is a lot of story telling that can be done with him, I think this guy might be in more pics than I expected.
@@Apunkwithtoys I guess sometimes a figure doesn't need a ton of accessories to be fun, that said I agree he should have a punching bag. Besides Chuckles...

Him and Quickkick are the only ones from that release I'm probably going for. Destro's classic laser is huge and has no trigger guard if you want to give him a gun.

Has anybody noticed that the unmasked head sculpt looks a lot like Rocky Marciano the Boxer. Rocky was considered to be the best in his era. Some think he is the best of all time.
I don't know, maybe calluses in my hands prevent me from feeling those spikes, because popping and putting on the helmet head don't bother me as much of they bother Lawrence.

Good review, I don’t know anything about this character, even if I were collecting Joes still when this came out it’s likely I’d not have bought a boxer to round out my cobra legion of figures 😆
Why do you say this is the buck they should’ve used for figures like Bazooka? I’ve had to do a “snow job” make over with Zook. I gave him one of my Act Soldier bucks with the head swap actions. No it’s not key to lock fitting but mesh ups are mesh ups regardless in my continuity 😆 I can’t have him running around in a jersey and green pants all the time just like my Quick Kick, I have him in a action soldier buck as well (I bought multiples of the action soldier) cause I can’t have him running around shoeless all the time either 😆
Excellent recommendation on utilizing that head sculpt of snow job’s on the TF Recondo buck though

I’m not sure what you mean, this was never meant to be Stallone nor does it look like him.

They said if they included anymore stuff with him he would have been “deluxe” figure 😂 what?!? There are plenty of regular figures that come with way more than him! Grunt , tunnel rat, low light just off the top of my head …..spirit!!! He’s got a freaking animal and a backpack and 5 weapons!! I duno what the real reason is he comes with so little but the excuse they gave is BS I can tell ya that
I’ve been thinking of getting a Rocky figure since Big Boa was designed to be his opponent when there were plans to have Rocky join the G I Joe team.
Hasbro had a short time frame when they were using likeness of real people in the GI Joe line. Sgt Slaughter and the mail away football player guy with the football shaped flail.
I like him, but he's a figure I'll wait to see if I can get cheaper. I don't think he's worth the standard $25 price.
$25 is the standard price of a 6 inch figure this day. I know he comes with less than other figures but he does line ip with what other figures this scale cost.
