Veteran's Son Reacts to Five Finger Death Punch - Wrong Side of Heaven 😢💥

  • I'm not very familiar with Five Finger Death Punch but I have heard the cover they did of Bad Company's "Bad Company". My father and grandfather are both veterans (Vietnam & WWII) so this one touched me dearly.
We need to take care of our veterans and make sure that they are getting the best mental care possible. I can remember my father having some issues with PTSD when I grew up and it was something that upset me. He now has more physical related health related issues, most likely from the Agent Orange chemical that was sprayed everywhere.
War is a terrible TERRIBLE thing but it's something that's reality. I respect our veterans and want to say THANK you for your service.
If you haven't see any of my previous reactions here on RUclips then I'd like to welcome you to DannymikReacts. I react to all genres of music and am now branching out to the beatbox genre and short comedy skits. So please, kick back and relax... I hope you enjoy!!

Hello all. To all you veterans, THANK YOU for your service! Welcome those who are fans of 5 Finger Death Punch! My grandfather was a vet of WII and my father was is a Vietnam veteran. This song was very emotional for me, considering what I seen my father go through growing up. He can finally now talk about those days but it's still difficult. Thank you for those checking this out and those who comment or even subscribe. Much love!!

I hope that I'm not getting singled out because upon further review there are a handful of these reactions on RUclips. The record label is simply "protecting their property" but I truly think that it's a really bad mistake. The people NEED to hear and see this video... it's important to say the least. Copyright laws are so stuck in the past. I can see if I was trying to profit off of this song but that's the furthest from the truth.

    • @DannymikReacts

I had it stored in my "watch later" for a bit and finally decided to click on it when I recorded last. Recently, I spent some time with my father and talked about a lot of this stuff. I told Jason Reed how my dad would get drunk and smoke weed just to go to bed. If shit happened to him (in the middle of the night) being in a higher state then he told me that he wasn't as scared (since he probably wouldn't feel anything). I could remember my mom would ask me to wake him up before dinner (while he was napping after work) and I'd be very reluctant to do so. He would get all startled when I'd shake him a bit and tell him it was dinner time. He'd be spooked out for a bit.... basically it would take him a bit to clear the "Vietnam war cobwebs" that were still evident (PTSD). He's a really good guy who you'd enjoy talking to. This guy LOVES music so I know where I get that from. He plays the saxophone, harmonica, and messes around on his guitar.
My grandfather (his dad) was in WWII. Both him and my father were drafted so they did the honorable thing and fought for their country. They both worked for General motors here in Buffalo. My grandpa died of cancer at only 47 years old. Who knows the root of where his cancer stemmed from... possibly an effect from the war. My grandpa died 4-5 months after my dad came home from Vietnam; it was very devastating to him. It's something that my dad talks about quite often because he feels like he got cheated from his dad (as adults). My dad was fresh from the war and needed someone to talk to who understood what he went through. Instead, he watched his dad decline very quickly and pass away in June 1971; My dad got home from Vietnam in January 1971. I feel like part of the reason I'm saying all of this is because it helps me understand that whole situation. And, you're a great person who cares about people and life.
Unexpectedly, I clicked the play button and the video hit me immediately. I FELT what the video was speaking to me. I'm a sensitive person but I BARELY shed tears. I'm proud that I did this one for my dad my grandfather (who I never met), and all the service people out there (past & present). Sorry if this is a long read but my fingers just kept going. Have a great night and we'll talk more tomorrow 👊

@@DannymikReacts Thank you for sharing this. I am really loss for words but I think that the universe reaches out to us in strange ways. I feel like I know you on a deeper level now sharing all this and hopefully other people will read it and get a feel for the reality and effects of war. It is truly devastating what is does to the entire human conciousness and all the lives it affects even for those who were not there. I keep hearing that we veterans are 'owed'. We are not. We were all grown men who knew what we were doing when we agreed to protect this nation. That being said, and before the hate comments start, we volunteered to take a stand for all of you and if you wish to volunteer to return the favor of taking a stand for us now that we're back home, we very much appreciate it!!
It is hard for those who are not in to understand the toll taken not only on us but family members. Children left without at least one parent for up to a year at a time during deployments (peace time or war), spouses having to deal with the added stress and worry. The lonely nights, the fear that the knock on the door is going to be the Chaplin's service with the worst kind of news. All of that is if everything goes right.
    If it doesn't...
I'm not 'owed' anything, that doesn't mean that I am not very grateful for those who show commitment to us, in response to the commitment we made. The opposite of war isn't peace, the opposite of war is helplessness, slavery, misery, and often death for the innocent. We made our choices for a reason. It was the right thing to do, despite the costs. For those willing to help us carry those costs, thank you.

I’m always touched by the guy at the end helping his squad leader he recognised, this song always hits hard every time I see it, so much wrong with our world right now with the corruption of my own community (lgbt), mainstream media, Disney, Hollywood and more and the homelessness problem when it comes to veterans not just in America even British veterans ended up homeless it’s always good to try and help people suffering from all of the corruptions and issues effecting our world, no matter wether any wars were Illegal like the Iraq invasion, or not illegal like ww1, ww2, and others the veterans of those wars needs to be respected, cared for if traumatised by them and remembered after death, and those that lost there life regardless of wether there name is remembered or not needs to be remembered on a memorial in there hometowns. I think every village, town or city needs to have a plinth with the name of every soldier local to that village town or city who lost there life in every war in remembered history, not just the ones with medals but also the ones without, literally every one of them.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this video. Each time I end up in tears. At the end when he looks at the guy and says you know me you saved my life brother. I wish that we as a country could be more respectful of our veterans who are living on the street. I also wish our government would do the right thing by our veterans. They above anyone should never have to live on the streets. The other thing that really gets me is we marry the military and they go off to war. We knew what we were getting into when we married them. How dare you walk away from them when times are tough. I know it’s not easy but you don’t walk away! And we as a country need to be more supportive of our veterans.

That is a sad reality! It is a situation where people enter the military on their own will but the government SHOULD make sure they are mentally good to go after they finish their duties. The training they receive is a lot different than what we learn in school/college. That said, my father and grandfather were drafter... so they were they served because they had to. Danny,
To this day, people like myself, veterans, are still just pushed off to the side. We are only used as pawns whenever there is something occurring with politics. As the general population, we pretty much are barely cared for with the exception of two holidays, veterans day and memorial day, that's all. Until the general population changes their thoughts and their feelings towards veterans, there will be no change within the government to force them to change the care of veterans. Being a medic, my job was always to care for people in and out of uniform. I still carry that to this day. But, veterans cannot be the only ones to look out for each other. We need the help of the general population to change their ideals.
