Obedience to the ruler who is Muslim is an obligation upon the Muslim so long as the Muslim isn't ordered to do sin because there is no obedience in disobedience. As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-raḥmatu-llāhi wa-barakātuh. I'm not a scholar but I'll try to give some insights for your consideration but I hope you don't take this as an invitation to debate. In another video, the Sheikh already said that muslims must not rebel even against a disbelieving ruler. I'll give you two historical cases: - Prophet Mūsā (peace be upon him) dealt with Fir'awn gently and when Fir'awn refused to believe Prophet Mūsā left Egypt instead of taking over the reign as assumed by Fir'awn. - Imam Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal didn't call for revolution even though he was imprisoned and persecuted by the ruler who forced him to say that Qur'ān is Allāh's creation. Allāh knows best.

Khawarij were the first sect to branch out of Islam. They are deviant Muslims. Funnily enough these people emerged in the time of the prophet pbuh himself. One of them told the prophet pbuh to be fair. The prophet pbuh warned about these people. Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There will come a people from the east, who recite the Quran but it does not go beyond their throat." They are very extreme people, they used to be "more" Muslim than the sahaba. If you miss a salah they will call you kafir, they called the sahaba kuffar lol...They were super extreme in their worship that anyone who did not reach their standard is a kafir (murtadd) which makes killing them halal. They are the ones who caused the first civil war between the sahaba, they were also the ones who killed Uthman ra. When Ali ra was asked whether these khawarij were kuffar or not, he said they are extremely deviant people who follow innovations but they are not kuffar. Khawarij believe that if you commit any og the major sins then you are a kafir. They have many innovations and deviant beliefs. However, dont listen to Faris in the video. He is known to be biased on the subject so take this video with a grain of salt. I personally dont know the four mentioned in the video enough to know if they are khawarij or not.

Source: Musnad Aḥmad 14909 To summarize, if you find a problem with a Muslim leader, you do not advise them in public and start protests and such as that is against what the Prophet PBUH taught. Rather you have patience and advise him in private. Whether he listens or doesn't listen is upto him and Allah, your job from that point onwards is complete. Obedience to the ruler who is Muslim is an obligation upon the Muslim so long as the Muslim isn't ordered to do sin because there is no obedience in disobedience. Our religion is not based on our emotions, it's rather based on the Qur'an and the sayings of the Prophet PBUH. Fear Allah regarding speaking on issues that you have no knowledge of.

Islam doesn't accept the non-Muslim political systems the Muslim governments have adopted like democracy, socialism, fascism, monarchy, communism etc. Islam has its own political system and if you accept Islam you must accept it as a complete Deen, not just a religion with a few daily rituals. Anyone who comes to power with force or asks to become elected is automatically illegitimate for leadership. The ummah has the right to place and remove whoever they deem fit to rule. And the thing you said about not advising leaders in public is completely wrong, we know that people would interrupt the Khuybah if Umar RA and demand he tells them where he got his cloths from, and Umar RA would never condemn them rather he would reply to there accusations. Not to mention that Imam Hussain showed open rebellion to the Umayyads when they corupted the Islamic political system (khilafah) into mulookiyah (monarchy rule).
One day Umar Stood up to deliver a sermon; in it, he said, ‘O people, whoever among you sees any crookedness in me in my character, my deals, my action, then let him straighten out that crookedness.’ A man from the audience called out, "by Allaah, were we to see any crookedness in you, we would have straightened it out with our swords.’ Umar then said, All praise is for Allaah, who has placed in this nation someone who will straighten the crookedness of Umar with his sword.’”

As-salāmu ʿalaykum wa-raḥmatu-llāhi wa-barakātuh. I'm not a scholar but I'll try to give some insights for your consideration but I hope you don't take this as an invitation to debate. In another video, the Sheikh already said that muslims must not rebel even against a disbelieving ruler. I'll give you two historical cases:
- Prophet Mūsā (peace be upon him) dealt with Fir'awn gently and when Fir'awn refused to believe Prophet Mūsā left Egypt instead of taking over the reign as assumed by Fir'awn.
- Imam Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal didn't call for revolution even though he was imprisoned and persecuted by the ruler who forced him to say that Qur'ān is Allāh's creation.

To summarize, if you find a problem with a Muslim leader, you do not advise them in public and start protests and such as that is against what the Prophet PBUH taught. Rather you have patience and advise him in private. Whether he listens or doesn't listen is upto him and Allah, your job from that point onwards is complete. Obedience to the ruler who is Muslim is an obligation upon the Muslim so long as the Muslim isn't ordered to do sin because there is no obedience in disobedience. Our religion is not based on our emotions, it's rather based on the Qur'an and the sayings of the Prophet PBUH. Fear Allah regarding speaking on issues that you have no knowledge of.

What is meaning of khawarij??
Khawarij were the first sect to branch out of Islam. They are deviant Muslims. Funnily enough these people emerged in the time of the prophet pbuh himself. One of them told the prophet pbuh to be fair. The prophet pbuh warned about these people. Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “There will come a people from the east, who recite the Quran but it does not go beyond their throat."
They are very extreme people, they used to be "more" Muslim than the sahaba. If you miss a salah they will call you kafir, they called the sahaba kuffar lol...They were super extreme in their worship that anyone who did not reach their standard is a kafir (murtadd) which makes killing them halal.
They are the ones who caused the first civil war between the sahaba, they were also the ones who killed Uthman ra.
When Ali ra was asked whether these khawarij were kuffar or not, he said they are extremely deviant people who follow innovations but they are not kuffar.
Khawarij believe that if you commit any og the major sins then you are a kafir. They have many innovations and deviant beliefs.
However, dont listen to Faris in the video. He is known to be biased on the subject so take this video with a grain of salt. I personally dont know the four mentioned in the video enough to know if they are khawarij or not.

Whoever intends to advise one with authority, he should not do so publicly. Rather, he should take him by the hand and advise him in private. If he accepts the advice, all is well. If he does not accept it, he has fulfilled his duty.

To summarize, if you find a problem with a Muslim leader, you do not advise them in public and start protests and such as that is against what the Prophet PBUH taught. Rather you have patience and advise him in private. Whether he listens or doesn't listen is upto him and Allah, your job from that point onwards is complete. Obedience to the ruler who is Muslim is an obligation upon the Muslim so long as the Muslim isn't ordered to do sin because there is no obedience in disobedience. Our religion is not based on our emotions, it's rather based on the Qur'an and the sayings of the Prophet PBUH. Fear Allah regarding speaking on issues that you have no knowledge of.
