    Lake Como is a pretty good scenery. Wow!
    Message to the woman with the Rohloff speedhub:
    "Do not submerge the SPEEDHUB as water will penetrate the gear-unit.
    Unprotected transportation on a motor vehicle through heavy rain can also lead to water penetration and should be avoided.
    An oil change should be completed immediately if you believe water may have penetrated the gear-unit."
    Rohloff manual

    14:50 Italy having 5 times the population density compared to the US (or whatever state/area you compare with) isn't the biggest issue. You picked one of the densest populated areas of Italy (and Europe) that also is one of the most popular vacation spots. It is very much like bike touring in a city.

    Very beautiful ride on the Adda river! The truss arch bridge you show at 6:19 is the San Michele / Paderno Bridge. It's a beautiful late 1800s cast-iron bridge, and its designer committed suicide before testing it fearing a failure of the bridge. I used to go over it with the train every day to go to the university in Milan! Quite scary 😅

    • @slow_spokes
      @slow_spokes  Месяц назад

      Maggie, we’re glad you’re enjoying following our adventures!
      In this video, I am wearing a helmet from Decathlon, but I’m not sure of the model, and it’s not listed on their website. Also, even though I really want to like the helmet (it fits my head comfortably and has a tiny taillight), the straps are not adjustable, and I find this leaves my forehead way more exposed than I would want if I were ever to actually put the helmet to use.

    Hello!
    The viewings have been extremely exciting. Very professional video editing.
    I have one question, though:
    If Hillary used to ride in Italy with a regular external derailleur, now she's riding in the Alps with a Rohloff internal gear hub. How did the Rohloff feel? Was it better, or was there something lacking?
    I'm asking because I’m considering getting a belt-drive gear system.
    Thanks in advance, and I wish you many more enjoyable kilometers!

    • @slow_spokes
      @slow_spokes  Месяц назад +1

      Thanks! I really like it, and would not go back to derailleurs--you can actually see more about what I think about it at the end of this video: ruclips.net/video/cNUEOSRxU4A/видео.htmlsi=89o_NElQX3RXFeRl
