But he is not David, Mapaseka nor MacG. If he would do that, then why is he doing it because those people are there? Remember again, this podcast is the same as others. Plus, we can't expect people to tell us everything as though thina we tell people everything.
The fact that we haven't been arrested, it doesn't mean we are innocent. If someone would do a podcast and call it ,"LET ME TELL YOU WHAT I DID." I doubt some will go and tell us how they got jobs, how they got married for so long, how they got their businesses.
So please 🙏 let's cut them some sleg 🙏

I am encouraging the interviewer to allow the guest to tell their story in full so that the audience doesn't keep asking for more details as you have seen in the comments. That is the very reason why these people have come onto this platform. To TELL THEIR STORY To share. Nothing is private at this point and it doesn't serve a purpose to "tell a story" & leave out the details which make the story.
I also didn't suggest that he should copy the interviewing style of those people. I said he should look at them and draw inspiration from HOW they conduct interviews. They are good at their jobs which is why they're popular and respected. It makes sense to draw inspiration from people who have experience doing what you're still learning how to do. This interviewer is not a broadcaster. He is still learning and we must allow him the space. But part of that learning for him should include research and watching how other people do it is part of that research.
This is good advice.

I think she meant to say that we should consider all the options when an offender is found guilty of an offense. When young people are convicted there's still the possibility that they may be rehabilitated but prison doesn't really provide that opportunity for rehabilitation. I think she was trying to say that if there is some other way to punish such an offender while rehabilitating them so that they'll become better people and come back to contribute to society, that should be explored.
Then how else do we dissuade a potential criminal if they'll readily know the punishment will be a walk in the park?

it happened to me there is a lady out there with a fake ID book that has my id number. opening clothing accounts, cellphone contracts and withdrawing money from Game stores, I've been up and down, going to police station making affidavits, registering with transunion and SAFPS. Its not young people who are doing fraud. They don't care how many lives they damage, they are selfish. They only stop when they are caught.
And yet she is taking it so light that the bank has insurance mximm

Identify theft will leave the victim traumatized for life, with trust issues and so much anger. It can change your innocent heart uze ufune nokubulala ama perpetrators. I have been a victim of this multiple times, more than 5 times.

I met this woman in 2017 when I was in primary school. We went on an excursion to kgosi mampuru prison and we had a one one conversation with her. Such a beautiful soul and I'm glad to see her on the podcast ❤

True.n I hv worked for a bank n as she was speaking she has absolutely no idea wat she put through the banking consultants tht gave her the loan. Thy had to under go investigation, dnt work while the investigation is going on . .. plus there's always a high chance u will be blacklisted to work at any bank after this. After one is proof not guilty after 6mnths of suspension thy literally resign due to stigma attached n truma

I was once a victim of identity fraud still today it takes long for me to get credit approval because of scammers.I sense no remorse from the guest which is really sad cause iam sho her victims are still suffering.

I'm ambivalent about feeling sorry for her or not. Last year my elderly mother 82 years old was a victim of bank scammers. They tricked her and cleaned out her account about R70k. She has a heart condition and was operated. I've prayed deep prayers that the worst calamity befalls these criminals. There's no insurance or ABSA bank that paid her back because they say she consented. These criminals are sleek and probably use muthi. So dear Meldah, your incarceration is nothing compared to what the victims of crime go through😢

The interview is not properly structured, we still dont understand who she is, how she got into crime, what she did exactly, who she worked with and where are they now, and how was prison life??? Like its so difficult to watch when the story is all over the place.
It is so useless to have guests like this lady who are not open enough with type of crime they committed. If she can't tell the story then no need to be a guest, we need to educate, inform and discouraging the young ones by giving full information.
She doesn't take full responsibility for what she did, 51% chances are that she's likely to be a repeat offender. Extremely bitter that mastermind did not do time and according to her, because he had/has money. To date, she doesn't take a look at herself but thinks about mastermind who dumped her, her pregnancy and had no care in the world about their child.

I like this podcast, but constructively so I feel like that sometimes it doesn't have chronology. Like how someone grew up, the space in life they were in when the crime happened, how they got caught then finally their experiences in prison and after prison. I don't mean this in a bad way but sometimes it jumps from one unrelated event to the other such that you get lost.
I went to the same high school with Meldah in Limpopo..shes always been this confident. I dont know her too well but the confidence is still there
It's not confidence, it's false ego . Had she had confidence, she would have not been easy to manipulate. If you listen carefully, she was groomed during pillow talk which is followed by sex. Confident people are not easy to appoach and have many questions and as such, can't be controlled.

Skeem, I wish you had asked her about her experience in both prisons as an inmate. she did not give mu details and the kind of treatment she got inside as a first time offender, but otherwise she is a beautiful intelligent lady.❤

God did best for you mina I did many bad things and I went in many prison with different crimes and I was only serving minimum sentences and wazi ukuthi it's more dangerous than maximum prison and since I've changed I'm suffering worse than I was a criminal I stop doing crime and going to prison in 2013 and I quit drugs last but still no job life is very tough outside world😢
This lady doesn't show remorse. She's not yet rehabilitated. What does she mean she was young at 21 years? That age in society is dangerous. Those are killers, robbers, get rich or die trying age. There's no collateral damage in decisions you take, crime is crime Theres no justification to that. She needs to change her attitude otherwise she's not inspiring.

The lady could possibly have been working with ma 419 scammers to commit fraud at the bank . 😮she is not revealing too much information, and treads carefully about identifying those who have been telling her that she can do the fraudulent activity because banks have insurance. I can’t even begin to imagine the pain her victims went through and are still going through. Not remorseful 😢

Imagine victimizing and ruining people's lives and having the audacity to tell them how they should or shouldn't feel when a criminal is being sentenced! I lost all respect for this lady, she obviously still doesn't understand the extent of her crime despite having served time for it.
I think she thought people would consider that she was a novice at 21. I have no idea she realizes the trauma fraud causes.

Spending time with ex-offenders, offering support, knowledge & skills while also amplifying their hearts cries for 2nd chance, really got me to walk in their shoes because I've had to connect with them & I must say there is so much left unsaid with how strong you have to be to find yourself (post your sentence) knocking at society for a 2nd chance to live a new & honest life...Which is why I feel organizations & podcasts such as these should be an anchor to reach out, inform & touch the hearts of the ordinary people in society because "society" alone plays a vital role & without their support one starts to feel like everything they've done to get to where they are was all in vain. I'm not imposing my values or beliefs on others but feel that members in society with a heart deep enough should help play a role & do a more human thing to do...Let us as society play our part & stop being the leading cause of seeing increasing numbers of re-offenders & seeing ex-offenders committing suicide post serving their sentences simply because we makes it hard for them to successfully re-intergrate even after they have acknowledged, were held accountable & paid for their wrong doings to society.
I'm very sorry, but this lady sounds very shallow mentally and seems to enjoy the spotlight. I don't see that ger rehabilitated. She feels entitled, and the government was unfair

1. How did she meet the partner
2. How was the relationship in general
3. How did he mentor her or introduce her to this crime
4. Was it a Bonnie and Clide type of situation or was she just pleasing the guy
5. Okay she got arrested, did he just disappear or did he build connections for her to be comfortable in jail?
6. What did they do with the money they stole? R250k between 2 people is a lot of money… plus the frauds he was pulling on his side (if any)💸
7. From my question above, did he do any crimes or they solely depend on her for a while
8. Is he involved in his child’s lives?
9. When was the last time she talked to him?
10. Does she feel sorry for the victims? Does she now understand her crime? Besides her being victim or a crime of passion

I agree with you, his interview style makes her jump form q topic to the the other. We need to know how was her first day in prison, what was her modus operandi, after how long did she get arrested etc. So much missing from the story. She's articulate and a great story teller

I think they are right. Skeem talks A LOT! He needs to learn to be more of a listener when he is interviewing other people. It takes him too long to ask questions even, because he always has something to say... His own opinions must come through. I like him. I like this podcast also, but he has a lot of learning to do still.

The entire time it was just her self pitty, her business management qualification and the opportunity she got to work.

She is a Down to earth lady and was honest about Her story. She needs to empower the youth. I am glad she’s confident enough to tell her story. It’s easy to make mistakes and the system is against us Black People. Those who have experience should create awareness and help the community fight. She herself says she was shocked that she became prison material. Reality can come at you fast. Youth must tread carefully and get full support from those who are older or have experience. It’s easy to fall astray she makes this message very clear. Love of money at a young age without direction or support will get you in prison as a young lady. Let’s preach this message my sister, hope she finds a way ukulungisa izinto zakhe. We are all on a journey, let’s be kind and offer forgiveness, mercy and guidance. 🙏🏽
Great idea for a podcast but there are areas of improvement in respect of Skeem's interviewing. Some structure and probing questions would do. Sometimes Skeem comes across as if he is interviewing himself.
