I once had a friend who had a similar experience with SAPS. We were together as a group of guys the whole day and at about 14:00 him and a friend decided to go and change clothes to go to town, unfortunately the way home passed through a bush. Before they knew what was going on they we surrounded by police and helicopters and taken away to be tortured. We could see the helicopters and the commotion but it never crossed our minds that our friends had been picked up by the police for armed robbery. He went through the same torture at Johannesburg Central but he stuck to his story that he was innocent. Apparently one of the guys was caught on the scene red handed, the criminal confessed that he was with my brother and he was part of the robbery even if they had never met because of the torture. He wasted 6months in Sun City Prison and was acquitted after we hired a lawyer. Years later a squad of armed police officers of more than 15 vehicles came again to his former residence claiming that he was wanted in connection with another robbery. The guy wasn't even in the Province the day the crime happened. There are alot of innocent people in South African prisons because police have pressure to make an arrest by all means. It's like criminals know this so when they get caught they make a deal with the cops for a bribe and pick any innocent citizen in the area to replace them. Sic.
Did he at least sue the SAPS for wrongful arrest and sue the state for wrongful conviction? I don't think he would be successful in proving that he was tortured but winning a wrongful arrest case and a wrongful conviction case is easy even with a cheap lawyer.
Nkosinathi's story reminds of Joseph in the bible. I pray he can be able to say similar words as Joseph when he says in Genesis 45:5-8 And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you. 6 For two years now there has been famine in the land, and for the next five years there will be no plowing and reaping. 7 But God sent me ahead of you to preserve for you a remnant on earth and to save your lives by a great deliverance. 8 “So then, it was not you who sent me here, but God. He made me father to Pharaoh, lord of his entire household and ruler of all Egypt. God bless abundantly my brother. Akubuyisele iminyaka eyadliwa yisikhonyane.

Mduryza, this is what have been said about South African law. Using the ancient Western laws in today's time and age. Our Law have not, will never and many years could change. Maybe this is the reason we have so many LLB undergrades or wanna be. Since it's the easier way to gain political access and its favours
At this point, I am questioning the work done by police officials. Are they really arresting the right people? It is quite saddening to hear that this is happening because any one of us could be next.
Yoh I remember just having a casual conversation with a some dude at work and told him there's no way I'll ever go to jail. He laughed saying that I'm a man living in SA, anything can happen at any time. Feel so sorry for this dude 😞 😢
Imagine bringing back the death penalty and end up being killed because of corruption and incompetent people with under resources. Now NIU will do the same thing they did when Cator Manor police were acting out of impunity

This guys must get a strong law firm to represent him when he is suing the state for wrongful arrest; There was a list of income as he already had acceptance letter from SANDF
The state knows it's going to get sued so they haven't cleared his name till this day he is still "under investigation" even thou they know his innocence
I am sure you only theorise about justice system in this country Cator Manor police were a LAW unto.themselves. Don't ask me how I know that but take my word for it.
I don't think he's eligible for that at this time because he's still out on bail and the case is still pending. What I'm afraid of is that they will end up killing him to make a case go away
Sorry bro to hear this sad story. But from what you are saying, it sounds like the police who were torturing you were involved in the murder of this politician they were accusing you of murdering. This is why Nhlanhla was killed - because he was about to upset their plans as he promised in their ears to find the real killers. They knew you were innocent from day 1 yet they tortured you because that was the plan - to cover up for someone. May God bring them to full justice. May He bless you for the pain you went true and strengthen you.
There are bigger players in his story, same as Senzo Meyiwa story. The strategy is to introduce a suspect or witness then murder them. That way they have produced incriminating information to the court which can’t be further processed.
A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a video that he was falsely accused via a suicide note confession. It's quiet sad 😔 9 years in jail for something you didn't do💔💔💔
