  • Welcome to Paul and Tim Do a Thing!
Paul from Ashen Phoenix and Tim from Capes And Scowls have been doing comic book reviews for 5 years. They can't be more different though. So they thought, let's let everyone in on the conversations about how different they are with music. And welcome to this channel!

Sia said that EH video is about the two states of herself - her inner chiled - free, pure, playful, scared but ready to take risks, and the adult she became, full of limitations (the cage), demons, fears, a lot of inner struggles. It's a battle - our inner child, our pure self trying to save us from ourselves but failing... Please react to the whole trilogy with the amazing Maddie Ziegler as dancer - Chandelier and Big Girls Cry. It's absolutely fenomenal how a 11 yo kid was able to convey the deepest Sia's emotion and to express them through interpretative dance. Even Sia was impressed by Maddie's talent and artistical maturity!
And if you want a happy interpretive dance - Together by Sia! :) I personally prefer her darker vids, but all are so good!

I think the final silent seconds are some of the most astonising things ever captures in a music video

I like interpreting this as a daughter-father dynamic vs introspective self-self

interesting how he could easily fit through the cage if he really wanted to but for whatever reason he refuses to leave.

      He doesn't think he can..
And at the end she's trying to pull him out and he's trying to pull her back in

Sia is no joke live, she's written over 200 songs!!! Do yourself a favor and watch her do Alive on the Graham Norton show!!! She's incredible, her music might change your life... it did for me.

If you want happy interpretive dance, check out Weird Al’s “Tacky”. You won’t regret it.

Anything Weird Al is amazing. Unfortunately, we both have seen EVERYTHING from him lol. We'd have to find a live version somewhere

You should do “Chandelier”…then follow it up with Alex Terrible’s cover of it! No interpretive dance in it. 😊

He says it's a family fight between father and daughter but it seems more like Stockholm syndrome between a kidnapper and his kidnapped girl.

I see this as a toxic relationship

In a way it is, but between a father and daughter and not necessarily a couple. Though there are definitely a lot of parallels you could draw.
