    When I lived in Iowa, I also often used smoked salmon with avocado and cream cheese in my maki rolls since it was hard to find sashimi grade salmon. Still tastes amazing - I gotta try it with egg sometime too ^^

    • @yuka_jp
      @yuka_jp  2 года назад +2

      Sorry for the confusion! It's 2tbsp for 330g cooked rice. One cup of uncooked rice will be 330g after cooking. I thought many people use rice cup when measuring rice 😢

    wait the japanese rice in spain is so much cheaper than the one in poland! here i only know one store that sells this toyama koshihikari and its like 10 euro for just 1kg? lol cant even find a bigger bag of that one they dont sell it. and then the niigata koshihikari is like 37 euro for 5kg TT (the one in a pink/white bag) i will keep looking TT i already had the niigata koshihikari and it is delicious sweet and fluffy but the price... it hurts haha i will keep looking tho!

      You know very well about Japanese rice! 👏 Actually I was surprised that Japanese rice is not that expensive here. The Asian supermarket sells 1kg and 5kg of Toyama Koshihikari. 1kg is 7euro.

    • @yuka_jp
      @yuka_jp  2 года назад +2

      Thank you for the comment 💓 Unfortunately yes, the rice/the rice part of sushi will get hard if you leave it in the fridge. If you have to leave the rice overnight, I recommend you to put the rice in a container after you make sushi rice, then put it in the fridge, and microwave it for a bit before using :)
      The rice will get hard if it loses the moisture 🥲

    • @atsukorichards1675
      @atsukorichards1675 8 месяцев назад

      I buy the Japanese and Korean nori, and both have the "lines." I think they are not put intentionally but made on them during the making process. Anyway, you can cut nori anywhere and anyhow, it isn't so difficult.

    • @atsukorichards1675
      @atsukorichards1675 8 месяцев назад

      It will still stick together for it is sticky rice (Japanese short-grain rice/"sushi rice"). The vinegar/sugar/salt solution is for taste and (originally) preserving a little bit longer. (By the way, "sushi" usually means a dish with "vinegared rice." If you don't have vinegar in rice, you have a completely different dish - "Onigiri/rice ball"!)

      I just wanted to let you know I just made my first sushi ever today and it turned out amazing
      I made "tuna and cucumber maki" that is shown in a video
      And for california roll I covered the whole thing with seeds instead of just making a "line" (I don't know if it's common to cover the whole roll in sesame seeds or not, but up until now I've only ever seen people make a "line" over a roll)
      Long story short this video was very helpful :) Thank you for showing us how to make rice vinegar and thank you for amazing sushi recipe ideas ❤

      Are you seasoning your rice properly?
      American California Calrose rice has always turned out fine for me, but I will say that even with a rice cooker I'm trash as cooking rice 😂 but well seasoned rice can usually save it for the most part.

    • @atsukorichards1675
      @atsukorichards1675 8 месяцев назад

      For me, the vinegared rice in USA restaurants is very weak. You might have to put "sushi-su/zu" more than the instructions say. You better taste during mixing rice and decide if it is enough. (And the rice cookers are wonderful.)
