Hi buddy! Great video, we need information on these things out ! I’m not sure that everyone defines “prop lift” in the same way. Some (including me) refer to lift as the lift produced by the prop, effectivly acting as transom lift. Lifting the transom will have the bow / front of the boat come down, thereby reversing your L/M/H classification. Also, i believe bigger props will always create more lift on the transom, effectively bringing the front down. Imagine having only two forces acting on the boat: One force would be the water acting on lifting the bow, second force would be the prop lifting the transom (high lift props lift the transom a lot, low lift props not so much). Then it’s all about how much or how little those forces are relative to each other, resulting angle the boat sits at. The different batteries used in your test have very different weights i assume. It would be cool to see more tests running the excat same packs and CG. Keep up your great work. Cheers 🌊🚀
Thank you my friend. I was afraid to make this video because everyone has different opinions on the subject You know what I mean but yes you are correct my opinion everything you stated is correct thank you for watching
You also need to compare some of the Octura 3 blade props on the mono, remember to reduce prop size by around 10% going from 2 blade sizes to 3 blade props to reduce the extra load & higher temps with 3 blades.
From my past. My first real Hydro was was the Dumas , Drag N' Fly 20. IT was basically an experiment from beginning to end. THE boat , ran raked up, and was was too high, and sponson to thrust was only 1 and quarter inches,. ALL it did was bound up, and cavitate. Garbage. Next season, we broke the epoxy , and lowered the stuffing tube to almost 1 and 3 quarters of an inch. The boat planed, but still cavitated. THE people at the hobby shop. couldn't figure out what to do. Part of it was trying to figure out THE CORRECT prop . Submerged, or surface running. Bigger , or smaller diameter. IN the end, we settled on an Octura 1440. The Boat ran for about 3 years, and after the fiasco of up grading the Mill to a K& B 3.5 inboard, it never ran consistently after wards . WHEN the motor ran, it was a quick ride, close to 30. IT"S one boat, I wish , I had kept. IT would have been a good performer on electric. Can u get me a link I have an alpharev r308 and I can’t find a propeller that will fit it and find the right propeller to have it faster top end just need it to be 5mph faster if u see this can u help me
A prop with a wider cone angle would create more stern lift. Think of the thrust cone angle as a up and down force vector. The down force acts against the water. As the vector is more perpendicular (wider), you get that force reaction back up from the water. Equal and opposite reaction. If the vector is at a 45 degree, you are not getting the same reaction up, as the thrust is on an angle. The force vector up is not met by the same water on the down vector, and you dont have the same opposite force as you do on the down side. You end up getting a larger force vector up on the bottom side than the down force created by the top side vector. Hence you have a lifting force up. The faster your hull goes, the more force you will have acting on the hull creating lift. More lift, the less drag from displaced hull. Speed is a function of prop size and pitch which will create the least amount of slip. Too small and you cant get enough thrust and you may cavitate. Too large and you cant get enough rpms. Same with pitch high and low. So its a balance act. The theoretical best running angle will be 3.5-4.5 degrees. So you want you hull balance at speed to be running between 3.5-4.5 degrees. Different props can change this angle. So adding stern lift or bow lift for example. Cupping creates bow lift. You may be seeing different total hull lift more based on the prop diameter and pitch reaching more rpms with less slip, and that creating your hull lift. You would need to get something that can measure RPM of the motors at the top speed to tune your diameter and pitch. The prop lift is determined on thrust cone angle. Wider gives stern lift, narrower usually creates bow lift. You can flare out the end of the hubs to create lift as well.

It has Is a delay because it's probably a high pitch propeller high pitch propellers have a little bit of cavitation on the start and your top end will be much better that's Somewhat normal
That’s exactly it the stock plastic prop has no delay,it was under warranty ,they thought it was an electrical problem, blue the metal prop has a bullet nut holding it on ,I was told buy the tech to upgrade to 3 s ,but it’s not a battery problem,it’s nice to finally have answer to my problem,Thankyou for your knowledge.and the quick response.
"It's like the Need for Speed," Until you run out of lake. Our Local boat club is using a man -made lake, and with odd dimensions. Maybe a half a mile in the sweet spot. A boat , running around 30 MPH. , runs out of realistate , pretty quick. AT 45, it's over fast. We've run M41's and a Miss Geigo, and they are clocking in +50. I'm still trying to figure out, how you managed 63, on the Black Jack 24.... and kept in the water. A guy dropped a Velos 29 once , and was right at 50. I think he was running 6 S, and stock , for the rest. THX, again for your great video work.

No not necessarily bigger props Will not let the motor spool up/rev up to full/maximum RPM so it's restricting the output at higher RPM's because the propeller is larger in size Bigger necessarily isn't always better

You need to make sure that you’re using the same types of batteries in every way for proper testing you went from using a 50 C battery to using a a 80c battery there’s going to be a significant difference in performance regardless of prop you could use the same prop and have different performance using a different sea rating.
I’m assuming Hot Racing props are balance
@@IRONCLADRC can you recommend a good prop for my M41
1.7x1 6 or m440 or x442/445 possibly dentounged so it doesn't load motor
How much propeller
kirim ke indonesia mister propelernya 😁
What's the difference between aluminum, brass, copper, radium

What exactly is a lifting prop? What does it lift?

@@IRONCLADRC I am loving that I'm able to comment about you channel. However ultimately it's that I get responses, quickly! From the guy who does the channel! Im going to be able to say, "I was able to talk to him directly when", after you breech 100,000 subs! Looking forward to more from your ever improving channel!!
I spent 50 bucks on a CNC prop and the factory plastic one out performs it
Ouch! that has to hurt.
@@IRONCLADRC the stock prop is 42 by59mm and the so called upgrade is 42by60mm is there that little difference to cause cavitation
It’s actually 42by63
No not necessarily bigger props Will not let the motor spool up/rev up to full/maximum RPM so it's restricting the output at higher RPM's because the propeller is larger in size Bigger necessarily isn't always better
@@IRONCLADRC I wanted a better prop than what was on the boat, plastic and the one that was sent, stock prop 42 by 59, upgraded prop 42 by 63,as you said that would cause the delay
You need to make sure that you’re using the same types of batteries in every way for proper testing you went from using a 50 C battery to using a a 80c battery there’s going to be a significant difference in performance regardless of prop you could use the same prop and have different performance using a different sea rating. This video is useless.
I love this channel BigB your growing by testing and floating us a solid 👌 oh by the way 11:00 blaming the radio was so funny... I meant to do that would also have worked for a laugh 🤩🧑🦽BB
