I then took a reg o-ring about the same size and put it down in the hole first. That worked, back to filling quicker and holding pressure.. ty
@@TargetForge a "guesstimate" from a knowledgeable person is worth more than a question mark with nothing added. I've been watching a number of videos on the GX CS3 (similar I think to the GX CS2) and at one time they advocated using oil added to the crank area and after ca 1st 10 hrs of use or so then annually or every 100 hrs. Apparently they no longer use oil (not sure why) so the newer CS3 models may not have user serviceable areas anyway. I'll look on your channel to see if you have anything on the CS3 though!
@@TargetForge thanks for your suggestions. I have done a bit of research on pumps that are "oil free" and I'm finding that contrary to "conventional thinking" today's modern oilless pumps can and do perform well for extended periods of time before needing any kind of maintenance. As an ex., these oilless pumps can be used for freeze drying ops (where the pump (vacuum) is operating 24-48 hrs STRAIGHT and doing this maybe many times per week for YEARS) and people are having few if any problems. I think much of the success of these type pumps has to do with the original design -- if it is set up for oilless operation, that's not the same thing as an oil type pump operating without oil! I suppose (since you enjoy experimenting, kind of like the Project Farm guy) you could always try running one of the CS2 type pumps to failure timing how long it takes. There are interval timers (I use one for other things, bought off Amazon) that could let the pump run for 10-15 mins, then shut it off 10-20 mins, and repeat until failure.

Hi bill, i am having trouble after lubricating my gx-cs2 compressor. I carefully watched this video and after that I only did the cleaning & lubricating on its cylinder. But when i start my compressor back this compressor is generating a pressure not more than 20 psi. I don't understand why this is happening. Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks in advance (My compressor was working just fine before this lubrication attempt)
It probably safer to say that you have a problem after reassembly as the act of lubrication is unlikely to cause a problem unless you applied way to much. I would guess that something went back together differently than it came apart. I have no idea if you touched the check valves but put back incorrectly, they can cause an issue for sure. A missing o ring, a loose fitting can cause an air leak preventing normal operation. Without actually seeing the machine I'm afraid I don't have much to go on, but any of the things I mentioned will cause issues like you are describing. Good luck! I do offer a repair program but it's not inexpensive..

I sell a PSI calibrated replacement right here! targetforge.net/shop/ols/products/pressure-gauge-calibrated-in-bar-assembly-dwg-31-one-each I use the big gauge for filming so its easier for my valued viewers to see. That gauge is a bit unwieldy for use on the end of a whip for filling guns if I'm honest.
I put a link to that gauge in the description. The trick is finding an adapter to M10X1 for the block. The one I'm using isn't ACTUALLY rated for 5000psi, but it hasn't blown my face off either. It is 304 stainless though, so I'm not really worried.
I agree with you. However, it is not as bad as it first seems. 1 (one) MPa = (equals) 10 (ten) bar. 10 MPa = 100 bar etc. So multiply MPa x (times) 10 (ten) to get a psi in bar.

Hello Bill, I already bought the Gauge and some cotton filters. Thank you!!!…just one question, is this gauge larger than the original, like the one you have in your GX CS2?
@@antonio999us Hello my friend. The gauge you ordered, which shipped just moments ago, is the same diameter as the original, just calibrated differently. Having a large gauge on the hose end makes it tough to use for filling guns directly. I use the large gauge for the videos because it's easier for viewers to read on screen. I did add that big gauge to the description with an Amazon link, but like I said, its big, heavy and clumsy. Perhaps I should find something in between? Might be useful... Thank you for your order!
Any idea when the site will be back? Also will you have those allens on there? I have a gx L3 and the other day it stopped working while filling. Got to 2k and it stopped. Thought maybe batteries got low so charged them up. Starting it back up it runs for about 10 sec and shuts off. So thinking its time for a full rebuild so need to find parts for everything. I also wanted to set it up to be able to fill multiple tanks so lmk if this would work. I was going to attach a gauge to the hose, then a shut off valve after the gauge, then a pressure relief valve and then filter. My thinking is i could shut off the air supply to the tank then purge and take the tank off, hook another up then just close the relief and turn the shut off and theoretically it should charge the line back up and start filling again.
Forgive my ignorance, what are Allens? Also I don't follow your design idea. Do you just want to trap air in the filter and hose and not vent each time? Should work fine just be sure everything is rated 5K PSI or better. Just keep in mind these units should only be run for 20 min at a time and allowed to cool.
Do you happen to have a contact for the manufacturer? I’ve had my CS4 for less than a month and my AC to DC inverter just blew. I ran it in increments of 15 on, 30 off to let it cool down and it still blew. I heard a loud pop like a capacitor went out. The compressor itself never even got warm to the touch but I would shut it off anyway.
That is a very good question Michael. Without a bunch of data I'm tempted to say a 10hr quick service interval makes sense and complete tear down and relube at 30 hrs? To be honest these numbers would normally be rooted in actual life cycle testing, which I'm pretty sure does not exist. I'm hoping that as more users put hour meters on their units and reflect data back to me, we can make a more informed recommendation. For now? the quick lube every 10, and the full service at 30 might work pretty well.
Hi TARGET just found this out doing the mini grease service on my friends CS 2 his one came with the white grease. When we were greasing the Wrist pin there is a small hole in the groove, and if you inject the M3 hole with grease it fills the groove which i think is to lubricate the connecting rod. I checked my new CS 2 and it has the same hole in it, maybe you just inject grease into the M3 hole to lubricate both ?. It may help in your vids to help others if it is right. sean from U.K
Hello Sean, if your unit has that magic hole, your alternate procedure works great, I agree with you. Trouble is that hole is not in all of them. Also I recommend switching lubrication at that location to the Premium Red Moly I offer, that requires removal to clean any previous lubricant to avoid contamination. Thanks you for your comment!
Ahh, Yes! The lubricants are available on my site, targetforge.net and there are two that I sell and recommend. One is a very specialized white grease for the sliding surfaces (pistons, cylinder walls) the other is a premium synthetic red moly. I offer them prepackaged in 10cc syringes with application tips. You can order them individually or as kit. Here is a link: targetforge.net/shop/ols/products/gx-lubricants/v/GX-LBR-FLL-SRV

Bill I think he means the Elklind Allen wrench metric set.@@TargetForge
Why do all that without changing the filters
Because it was a video about lubrication, not filter changes?
kinda wish you could name the white grease
Why not just get some from the site? Not like this effort makes a great deal of money.
You should return it immediately. That unit is still under warranty.
How often should I do maintenance?
That is a very good question Michael. Without a bunch of data I'm tempted to say a 10hr quick service interval makes sense and complete tear down and relube at 30 hrs? To be honest these numbers would normally be rooted in actual life cycle testing, which I'm pretty sure does not exist. I'm hoping that as more users put hour meters on their units and reflect data back to me, we can make a more informed recommendation. For now? the quick lube every 10, and the full service at 30 might work pretty well.
@@TargetForge thanks!
@@michaelgarcia156 you are most welcome!
Hi
TARGET
just found this out doing the mini grease service on my friends CS 2 his one came with the white grease.
Hi, can you tell me what you lubricate??
I'm not sure I understand your question Daniel. I just showed three lubrication points in the video. Am I missing something?
@@TargetForge I meant what lubricants do you use?
@@TargetForge Do you ship to Poland?
@@danieljasinski5879 I currently do not, but I could look into it for you.
Mine will only fill to 3000 psi now, have I blown something on the high pressure side?
I suspect a leak somewhere or the HP check valve. Are you testing with the dead head to eliminate the gun side of this?
@TargetForge yes, my buddy has a pump and my gun is holding 4K psi.
@@oldguyjammin7485 Does "yes" mean you are doing a dead head test?
@TargetForge yes, it fails the head pressure test. I'm going to pull the check valve and high pressure piston today.
@@oldguyjammin7485 Do the check valve first, it's easy to get to. Clean it well and inspect the sealing surfaces. If you have not checked each connection on the fill hose with soapy water, start there! Might save yourself a whole lot of trouble.
I am late to the party. I just received my GS-2. How often should this lube take place?
About every 50 hours of run time seems pretty good.
Please my GX-CS2 not coming whith this grease .please what the name of grease is it silicon grease?
Yes, none of them come with grease anymore. That is why I provide it for you at targetforge.net
Cool
The piston grease in my CS2 unit is black. What's up with that?
How old is it? How many hours has it been run?
@@TargetForge very new has less than 3 hours on it. Picked it up on Amazon last month
It is new from Amazon. Less than 2hr. on it.
I ordered some of the white grease off your web site. I took off the head to look and see how much grease was in it and it looks black. Working fine. Just curious if I should use the white or not.
Glad that you trust us with your compressor maintenance! No idea why that would have turned black so quickly.
"but sometimes its not as much fun when its easy to get your tool in there" lol lmao and a thumbs up for the humor. My pronouns are... yeah, I don't play that bs
2:38 hahahahahaha
What fat is that? Please a link
Well the fat is my own, I know because I grew it.
I need to buy this grease. Give me the purchase link
I identify as a GX compressor thats full of hot air
LOL! My nephew identifies as a T38 Main Battle Tank...
funny.
What's the difference between the cx 2 and cx 3
One is a reliable pump, one is a reliable pump wrapped in electronics that fail and leave the user stranded.
