Speaking of Eden, why were there two trees? If you eat from one you'll live forever but if you eat from the other you'll die (among other things). Were we originally designed to die and we needed the other tree to have the possibility of eternal life, or were we designed to live forever but eating from the one tree made us mortal? If we were originally designed to die then eating from the knowledge tree didn't bring death into the world, but if we were designed to live forever then what need have we for a tree of eternal life, unless god planned for us to eat from the knowledge tree all along and needed a reason to toss us out of the garden when his plan came to fruition. 🤷🤷🤷

That’s how cults work in general-cult members are expected to just instantly accept the cult leader’s (or leaders’, in the case of JWs) doctrine instead of critically thinking about it
I used to live near the Huntington area as a kid and wondered why I never saw anyone like me around except for a handful of kids and ONE sort of black congregation in Huntington (i am multiracial, but my mom and i could "pass" as white or in my case "mixed with something") and didnt have too many problems with sundown areas, but i wasn't old enough to be out on my own and my mom and i never ran into anyone like that picking up my dad (a sort of raised jw but never "made the truth his own", but a very obvious black man) from work at night when his car needed to be fixed. I was fortunate not to experience the racism even being one of two non white girls at my school. 16:38 There's a book you all may enjoy. It's called Lamb, at some point he addressed his apostles and said "I'm not here to take over, stop stockpiling weapons, please!"
Doesn't that depend on what kind of religion you're talking about? I think you're thinking about the three Abrahamic monotheistic religions. Debunking their core beliefs wouldn't debunk Shinto or the Sioux folk religion at all, for example.
Really I thought he said he taught in parables to keep his teachings hidden from anyone but his apostles? As in Mark 4 where he said to the apostles To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, so that ‘Seeing they may see and not perceive, and hearing they may hear and not understand; lest they should turn, and their sins be forgiven them.’

Hank Ballard and the Midnighters released "The Twist" in 1959. In 1960 Chubby Checker covered it and it went big for him. In the early 1960s there was a fad of starting new dance crazes with pop songs. And I just realized I've been imitating Hank Ballard since the mid 1980s when I only had an AM radio in my car and drove around singing oldies at the top of my lungs
Ray Comfort is a throwback at least to a period in the 70's, which was when some young people in chuches got on to the idea of "street witnessing". Among those circles, it was almost like those who did that activity were a higher form of Christian life than everyone else So he is taking an approach that is at the very least 50 years old - it was then and still is cringeworthy, a public muisance and an invasion of people's personal space and privacy
Ray used to debate in Cathedral Square Christchurch NewZealand with the Wizard of Christchurch , in the 70s . He didn't do well.... so He went to the U.S. and became famous.. I went to High School with Him in CHCH in the early 60s
And this is why having a secular society is so important: Other religions, even just other denominations of Christianity itself, will *never* agree with each other. They will never see eye to eye. but so long as you keep those beliefs in a personal space, separates from society as a whole, then it doesn’t really matter. They can bicker all they want, so long as they aren’t forcing those beliefs onto others
Hey Owen! Sorry if you've answered this elsewhere, but how many channels do you have? I keep trying to keep track of when you upload stuff but I've noticed at least 2 different channels, not sure how many more are there.
28:44 Owen, I'm going to take a swing at this. I believe there were still competing sects of Christianity around and what he was trying to do there was tell all his followers that he's the only one He's the only one that has it right.
If everyone is resurrected after Armageddon, and so long as you survive to the finish-line of the 1,000 years you will go to paradise; when what’s the point of being good during our lives now?
Because if you DON'T die before, and are alive DURING, you're toast. That's the big fear factor. They use the scripture about staying on the watch and not falling asleep at the critical time. Thus, Watchtower.
Isn't it hilarious when someone who himself is in a cult wants to claim others are in cult and tries to debunk them? until any religion can provide actual evidence for their gods existence they are all cults!!
@@Kat-I-am3333 Yes, I know that. Believing in God doesn't mean believing the Bible, the Quran, book of Mormon, or in a Church. Faith doesn't always equal to organized religion or people controlling me. You think everybody who believes in God is being controlled by others , but that's the difference between organized religion and a personal faith. Also, there's a difference between believing there's a God, and believing in books purporting to be messages from him. Believing the latter allows for people to manipulate you with forged "messages from God" telling you how to live your life but that isn't necessary for the former. Who is controlling me, according to you? Who is the manipulator you are referring to? It can't be the authors of the Bible, as I reject the Bible. It can't be the authors of the Quran as I don't believe the Quran. It can't be Moses, as I'm not even sure if he's ever existed. So who is the manipulator CONtrolling me? @@Kat-I-am3333 Your channel indicates you also believe in spiritual stuff as you say in your description you are clairsentient & claircognizant. I was working as a door greeter at a grocery store in Texas and an older lady said “have a million dollar day!” and handed me what I thought was a novelty $1,000,000 dollar bill. I took it and chuckled and put it in my wallet. I thought it was just a way she tried to amuse people like some grandpas telling dad jokes to the cashiers. Harmless and cute. Or so I thought. It was actually a pamphlet mentioning the “looking at a woman with lust is committing adultery in God’s eyes” bit on it. I had carried it with me for so long because I thought it was just kinda funny, but she was preaching at me. I know that she was trying to do good, but I found Biblical verses being printed on fake money to be very offensive, personally.
Depending on which group you’re talking to, Buddhists have differing views on god(s): 1) There are gods, they’re out there doing their own thing, and we don’t need to worry about them. They live in different realms. 2) There are gods, and we can venerate them without fully worshipping them. They have teachings that can be/are of use to people. 3) There are gods, and we do worship them in some fashion. (This is usually the case in certain Buddhist sects/groups where local deities have been integrated into Buddhist practice.) 4) I don’t know if there are gods or not. 5) There are no gods.
Exactly. There are other examples of there being 3 separate beings that are God(God the Father, God the Son/Jesus Christ, and God the Holy Spirit/Ghost). The baptism of Jesus is another good example. Jesus heard the voice of God the Father and God the Holy Spirit descended in the form of a dove. The creation as well. For example, God the Father said let “us”…in “our” image.

As a child raised as s JW, I asked what would happen with if a person get in accident or fall down in the new system, could they get hurt or die? I was told, everyone would be perfect, so with "perfect" minds and the ability to see everything clearly, there would be no accidents. So no one was in danger of dying during the thousand year reign. People only have accidents because they are not perfect. It did make me think of how perfect Eve was fooled by a talking serpent and why a perfect Adam went along with it.
42:00 Birthdays are mentioned negatively twice in the bible, and are not allowed because "if god approved of them, they would have been mentioned in a positive light too". Dogs are mentioned negatively like a dozen times or 15 times or something like that. No witness bats an eye at owning dogs.
In the early 2000s, I was an avid listener of Ray's "Way of the Master" online radio show. I bought a bunch of his books, gospel tracts, etc. I started to move away from it over time when I noticed how much he and his co-hosts enjoyed being mean about people's appearance, the way they mocked and laughed at some of those they saw as unbelievers or doctrinally incorrect, etc. The level of delight in others' mistakes, suffering, or supposed inferiority didn't sit well with me. I do believe that the Bible demands that believers try to warn ppl about hell, but I also believe that making one attempt per person is enough, not going on and on to someone who's already said no. Idk what I believe now, but I support a "live and let live" approach to existence
I don't believe any of the ones that said he made good points and would think about it were JW. I am not nor ever been JW but everything I have seen wouldn't lead me to think JW would listen and change. The teachings are pretty embedded.

🤷🤷🤷
The inedible versus the unpalatable- nice one Owen
The new system makes no sense. I once asked what happens if a child falls off his/her bike, will they get hurt? I basically got scorned for asking. They want you to think about it, but not too hard.
What you talk’n about Willis?
But as i got older, i saw more of those types of sundown areas and realized i and my mom and dad was fortunate. Brings back a sort of nostalgia to hear about where i used to live. Kind of a bitter sweet "cool, someone knows, but....i know they know" sort of feeling. Love your videos! Still getting used to speaking out and leaving comments (my hands was shaking as i typed this)
31:00 this clip always makes me think of attacks on titan final season
Your cat has impeccable timing. For 40 mins of the video there was the one orange cat behind you, and you mentioned several times how you wrote A Book. Then at Minute 40 you mention that you wrote a second book, and just as you say the sentence a second cat walks into frame behind you :E
16:38 There's a book you all may enjoy. It's called Lamb, at some point he addressed his apostles and said "I'm not here to take over, stop stockpiling weapons, please!"
Off topic......but your fluffy little orange boy in the back is soooooooooo cute!
Can't debunk a religion without debunking your own. All come from the minds of men.
Doesn't that depend on what kind of religion you're talking about? I think you're thinking about the three Abrahamic monotheistic religions. Debunking their core beliefs wouldn't debunk Shinto or the Sioux folk religion at all, for example.
“Before Abraham was I am”
So? What's your point. Explain that, it sounds like gibberish.
More of Comforts word salad
Owen your beautiful cats is making biscuits in the background 😂❤❤❤
What do you mean by “making biscuits”? You are obviously not speaking literally.
@@chargree
It's just another way of saying kneeding or pushing paws.
I'm not comfortable with ray comfort.
So many legitimate criticisms un-addressed. Bizarre. I'd sooner believe he was in bed with the governing body after that piss-poor 'rebuttal'.
Through speaking in parables, Jesus grants understanding to those who are seeking after Him - revealing truth to those who are willing to listen
Really I thought he said he taught in parables to keep his teachings hidden from anyone but his apostles?
As in Mark 4 where he said to the apostles
To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, so that ‘Seeing they may see and not perceive, and hearing they may hear and not understand; lest they should turn, and their sins be forgiven them.’
You owe us an apology for making us listen to that snake in the grass.
Ray's not "crafty enough to be a snake".
Wow, I didn't know you're an author 🤩🤘congrats and thanks! The new jw changes are insane, Norway, csa, the gb lying in court 100%....my mom literally came to tell me "women can now wear pants!" It took me a couple days to finally tell her that's the cultiest thing I've ever heard in my life. Showed her david applewhite and heaven's gate uniforms. It's hard to stop typing, sorry
I got a middle finger judgement for them
The thing is that Jesus would have believed that human sacrifice is a major abomination against God. Also, Tanach says that every one dies for their own sin.
I am very sorry for sending Ray comfort to USA I met him in New Zealand 30+ years back in New Zealand
Hey zooboy, I went to Aranui High in the 60s with Him,
How was the old boy back then?@@19bisho
1:10 and evangelicals believe access to heaven is through giving, mostly money to false prophets aka evangelical leaders.
An apologist was deceptive? Now I've heard everything. LOL
Waiting for Owen's take on the latest thing that came out of JW, as really that's all thevtalk now of many exJW channels...
What? That you can say "hi" to a df'd person at the KH?
Hank Ballard and the Midnighters released "The Twist" in 1959. In 1960 Chubby Checker covered it and it went big for him. In the early 1960s there was a fad of starting new dance crazes with pop songs.
And I just realized I've been imitating Hank Ballard since the mid 1980s when I only had an AM radio in my car and drove around singing oldies at the top of my lungs
Ray always sounds like he’s snorted coke before saying his BS.
The horror of monkey hate video by spoogli. And harlows pit of despair video by into the shadows. The rhesus macaque has a lifespan of 40 years.
Ray Comfort is a throwback at least to a period in the 70's, which was when some young people in chuches got on to the idea of "street witnessing".
Among those circles, it was almost like those who did that activity were a higher form of Christian life than everyone else
So he is taking an approach that is at the very least 50 years old - it was then and still is cringeworthy, a public muisance and an invasion of people's personal space and privacy
Owen do you mean to tell me that Ray Comfort is coming back again - wasn't once bad enough.
Yeah they consider Magog to be Moskow.
I googled the meaning of og and magog. Turns out magoge was the land og!!!
The girl at 26:40 looks so unbelievably uncomfortable with her beliefs being questioned. Makes me want to try these questions on the JWs near me
She wasn't a JW. This was all nonsense.
Hey Owen! Sorry if you've answered this elsewhere, but how many channels do you have? I keep trying to keep track of when you upload stuff but I've noticed at least 2 different channels, not sure how many more are there.
🤣🤣🤣love the way you spoke of ray at the beginning. It was perfect 🤩
The self-righteousness/depravity you asked about at 4:31 is likely a Calvinist reference.
Gog and Magog also appears in Rev.20v8, not just 1 Chro.. & Ezk.
New Zealand's gift to the American people. No no, don't thank us. You're welcome.😁
28:44 Owen, I'm going to take a swing at this. I believe there were still competing sects of Christianity around and what he was trying to do there was tell all his followers that he's the only one He's the only one that has it right.
One I saw today was, "Why did God need a woman to create Jesus but not Adam?" 🫣
Good point. Not quite human for human anymore, is it?
Then there's the Adam and Eve controversy. They both had three sons. To continue the generations, how many women did those boys know?
If everyone is resurrected after Armageddon, and so long as you survive to the finish-line of the 1,000 years you will go to paradise; when what’s the point of being good during our lives now?
Because if you DON'T die before, and are alive DURING, you're toast. That's the big fear factor. They use the scripture about staying on the watch and not falling asleep at the critical time. Thus, Watchtower.
Isn't it hilarious when someone who himself is in a cult wants to claim others are in cult and tries to debunk them? until any religion can provide actual evidence for their gods existence they are all cults!!
Cult + Time + Money= Religion
A cult isn't the same thing as believing in God. Ray comfort's evil but so are you for hating on me for believing in God.
@@Prelude-vs5vi. ALL religions are for CONtrol. Waky waky...
That would be interesting information for you to provide IF you insist believing in creation is the same as being religious and the same as being CONtrolled?
@@Kat-I-am3333 Your channel indicates you also believe in spiritual stuff as you say in your description you are clairsentient & claircognizant.
So, you surely know the difference between personal faith, a personal belief in God vs following a religion aka letting people tell you how to live, with self proclaimed prophets and so forth.
What about John 4? Jesus said to her “It is I, I who am speaking to you.”??? Jesus DID know.
My young friend they worship the evil they are most afraid of. That's all you have to know. And it will stop the confusion in your mind
Comfort has as much connection to reality as Sauron has.
At this point, the “final day of the last days” clip is my Freebird. Someone does a video that’s JW related and I’m like, “play the Last Days Clip!!” 😂
When I come to watch your videos, RUclips splats Mormon adds in my face and in Brazilian.🙆🏻♂️
Buy Premium. Quit being cheap.
Depending on which group you’re talking to, Buddhists have differing views on god(s):
1) There are gods, they’re out there doing their own thing, and we don’t need to worry about them. They live in different realms.
2) There are gods, and we can venerate them without fully worshipping them. They have teachings that can be/are of use to people.
3) There are gods, and we do worship them in some fashion. (This is usually the case in certain Buddhist sects/groups where local deities have been integrated into Buddhist practice.)
4) I don’t know if there are gods or not.
5) There are no gods.
This is going to be hilarious 😂
What religion is the interviewer?? The young ppl in the video seem uncomfortable.
Not sure but he's a menace to society. He always does this to ppl on the street, right into ppls face. He's an ahole.
So if Jesus was God why did he say on the cross father? Why have you forsaken me?. Who was he talking to?
Christianity is about God being there for you.
All other faiths are about you being there for God (or their god or gods).
No of course you're none of those things. Owen you're greater than those things you actually are human being. And that is very hard to accomplish
All the arguments Ray makes against other religions can be applied exactly the same way to his own religion.
The difference is, only one way is right, and it’s Ray’s way or the highway.
Think about this Armageddon thing my young brother. Everybody wants to cause the end of the world but everybody is afraid to die because they're afraid of their own God. Isn't that a contradictory of terms
Man I just watched Kent Hovind Dox Atheist Junior by referring to him using his real name multiple times in a debate and when called out on it he said he won't call him by a fake name. Bruh you want everyone to call you Doctor...
I think Jesus said, "I just finished."
So immortality like elves in some fantesy. They live forever but still can be killed by an arrow or disease?
Gog and Magog supposedly Scythians and Samarians of Black Sea.
speeding tickets are not meant as a deterrent. If they were then they would cost different depending on your income.
So he thought he was going to be a king, a ruler, he didn't know that he was the sacrifice for mankind.
Religion is too confkicted. Contradictions.
👍👍
Conflicted, constricted, contridicted and controlled...
so many CONs going on...
