    They are beautiful. Coconut is also amazingly rot resistant. I "lost" a half shell in some trench digging spoil which remained there for about 15 years, deep inside damp clay soil. When I eventually dug away that pile I found the coconut shell still in perfect condition. There was also some wood in taht pile which had disintegrated to mush.

    • @Elchlea
      @Elchlea 6 лет назад

      You can use the back of axe or with anything blunt but hard. Give it few hits and it will crack open. If it doesn't open right away you can continue to gently pry it with the sharp side of the axe. It requires practice to get beautiful shape but if you're lucky you can get one from first try!

      Romove all e xtra fibres, soak for a few mins in water and drain, hit with a big meat cleaver to make small grooves along the line you want to break it tgen give a sharp tap with the same. It will make a fairly clean crack in the shell. Not so smooth and professional looking as shown here, but good enough. Its easier to scrape off coconut meat on evenly cut coconut on our traditional scraper in India. Tha t s how I know.

      Well our plastic is really helpful for animals
      It kills thousands of animals per day
      And dwarf coconut trees totally don't give off up to 120+ coconuts per year
      And plastic is totally not killing off fish and endangered turtles and their totally isn't so much plastic in the ocean that in one part of the world plastic covers 5+ miles of the ocean alone
      NOT including the beaches that are covered in plastic

      You can but you'll have to reapply the mineral oil, i recommend using beeswax instead or any other edible wax so that it doesn't wash out if you use it for soups or if you wash it

  • @barihayat831
    @barihayat831 4 года назад

    should you apply the oil before every use or just once you create the bowl?
