    Jeff, you do a great job. The guy’s out there that have years of experience chime in and fill in with additions that make your videos near perfect so my hat is off to all who participate. The flux, cleaning the flux, sealing the solder connection and then using the self sealing shrink are IMO the only way to go. Dressing and sectioning the wires is a personal preference and needed. My career has been in electronics since 1969 and have done procedures like this many times and as many of your other viewers find your video’s very informative. Thank you Sir.

    @vcval Actually VC, they are showing 1969, 1971-73 Dart as well as '70-'74 Challenger, '68-70 Charger, '70-'74 Cuda, '68-'70 Roadrunner and '67-'69 Barracuda in their listings with varying release dates. But the Dart has a release date of 4/29/2012. So you might want to give them a call.

    @fordaez We'll look into that Ford, it is certainly a good idea. Thanks for the tip!

    @AutoRestoMod I definitely agree. Its kind of a modern version to the ol' Cougar look.

    have you ever looked at wiring from an older vehicle that has been solderd and shrinkwraped? the very moment that the wire cools from soldering it will start to corrode if you dont do your shrinkg in atleast two layers it will eventually leak. Use paste then shrink over the solder joint about 1/2" in both directions, then another band of shrink that covers it by more then 2" .... Anticorrosive paste after soldering will help to keep this type of repair or install 100% for years to come.

    A side benefit not mentioned is the lower electricity requirements from LED's. 1st time I have ever heard of sequential lights not being allowed...what if they were like that from the factory? I would have done a quick test of the lights prior to install, hate putting them in and then not working.

      It all depended on local laws. The Shelby had center mount headlights in 1967 of the GT500. Due to some localities not allowing that, they had to move them to the edge of the grille.

    That's because people don't clean the flux off. Clean it with methyl hydrate or regular rubbing alcohol, and then seal with *adhesive lined* heat shrink. Not that crappy auto parts store decorative heat shrink.

    Why the extra wiring to fuse block. Figuired the digitails would would just splice in the wiring to the old taillights

    Can this be used on a 68 ss camaro? My reverse isn't used anyways. Also what's the extra wiring for the original taillights have power and figuired just splice into that.

    @SpankyTSpangler Thanks for that Spanky, we love you to...in the same non-sexual way.
    The Camaro is Bahama Blue...in the places that Gordon has not rubbed the paint off.

    I only see one place where there are grounded...which is to the right of my gas tank....tightened that ground down a little tighter...

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  6 лет назад

      Make sure that is a good ground too. Sometimes the wire or the bolt may not be offering a good ground.
      When diagnosing electronic systems for incorrect operation, it is often necessary to verify that ground circuits are good. This article is intended to clarify what is meant by the term "good ground" and the preferred tools and methods for verifying it.
      A "good ground" is a ground circuit that has a resistance of zero OHMS.
      Ground circuit resistance can be measured in OHMS using a digital volt OHM meter (DVOM). When using a DVOM, it must be set on the 200 OHM scale to obtain an accurate measure of the circuit resistance. Many meters have both a 200 OHM scale and a 200 K scale. The 200 K scale will not measure zero OHMS accurately. If you are not sure how the meter is to be set for the 200 OHM scale, refer to the meter operating instructions for proper settings. If the meter is an autoranging or self-scaling meter, read the meter carefully to be sure which scale it is setting itself to.
      Before measuring resistance in any circuit, the resistance of the meter should be measured by touching the leads together. A meter with a good battery and leads in good condition will read less than .2 OHMS usually zero. If the leads measure anything more, an accurate measure of the circuit resistance may not be possible.
      Always remember - resistance cannot be measured accurately on a "live" circuit, All current flow through a circuit must be stopped by disconnecting its power source before measuring resistance.
      Ground circuit resistance can also be checked by measuring the voltage drop across the circuit with a DVOM set on, the 2 volt scale. The voltage drop will be zero across a "good ground" circuit.
      Remember, fully understand a meter's functions before using it!
      So a proper ground wire will be as follows.
      - clean of residue and paint.
      - secure.
      - have a resistance return of 1/2 ohm or less.
      - be of adequate guage to carry the return as compared to the power wire.

    My drivers side close to my gas cap on my 68 is slightly dimmer than the passenger side.....any ideas?

    Will that work for me on my 93 Chevy caprice wagon, an what do I need to install it

    • @AutoRestoMod
      @AutoRestoMod  5 лет назад

      You'd have to contact Digitails and see if they offer a kit that will fit the wagon.

    I don't like the idea of cutting my wires to install these.. my 68 Chevy C10 has 1157 plugs on the wire end and it's basically works just like these do.. why they haven't figured out how to do that who ever knows
