How convenient to miss the shift from 3rd to 4th every time the opponent starts to pull away. I somehow would understand a missed shift from 2nd to 3rd, but 3rd to 4th??? Come on

Don't "missed shifts" often result in severe "engine over-run"? Typically,..when one misses a shift,...the Gear Selector doesn't go into the next gear,...and the transmission ends up in "Neutral" with a hard Stab at the Gas Peddle,...which normally causes severe engine over-run! Hmm,....just say'n! All in all,...it's good to see the mutual respect everyone displayed. Good "Safe" content...
@@JMD535 yes that can be a cause to miss gearshifts, however shifting gears from 3 to 4 in a regular manual transmission is one simple movement.
If you look closely when he shifted the gears, it even looks like he just pulled it into neutral instead of trying to pull the gear lever all the way to the rear like he did on the other "successfull" run.
Also you want to tell me that if you are racing, rowing gears as fast as you can, and you then miss a shift, you are that fast on stepping back on the clutch to prevent your gears from grinding???
For some reason it seems like he just went into neutral and not missed a gear ⚙️ on the lower end yes the bmw gets out really good it even looks like it starts pulling on the cat but top end (first race) you can see how the cat just walks away, both amazing cars the bmw for not being even close (stock) to a hellcat & the hellcat for being such a heavy boat and being a manual

Yeah ... you’re going have to take those “L’s” in stride my man. That’s part of racing, especially with a manual . Missing a gear sometimes come with the territory, just take the “L” and move on. When you start making excuses , it makes you come off as a sore loser.

Down here in the south my friend introduced me in to the 340i he has the bmw m5 to both have work done to them the 340i is faster still he race a helicat charger with the bmw m5 the charger beat him on the pro tree and he drove back around the charger 1/4 mile

If you are banging 2-3rd gear with no problem each time, you know for sure you aren’t missing 3-4th unless on purpose. 1000hp or not, and you can see it when he grabs the shift know just right to make it look like his hand slips off the knob

M140i ... at the moment just a simple remap, stock everything, 411bhp/576nm ...... in a little hatchback. There is an M140i in the UK with 620 wheel HP (measured on a hub dyno).

Been driving both Standard and Auto for YEARS. Missed gear would SPIKE. You however only shifted to neutral becauss it'd be far more embarrassing maxing out and still losing that it would be to just throw the race.

The s58 coming in the m3 m4 x3m x4m can be tuned to 650whp with tune and fuel thats its. These new motors are the new 2jz which is why bmw and Toyota used the b58 in the new supra but the s58 will hold more !

Cooling passages are blocked off around the cylinders. Open deck and semi open, the coolant passages are wrapped around the cylinders. If you look at a picture, it's easy to understand.
This was always why you would see STI's with build motors, big turbos, and only make 400 hp. The cylinders just crack at the coolant passages.
So it’s safe to safe b58 is great motor then ?
