    “How do two brothers get into the nail care business?” This is the single most common question people ask us. There’s a long and rocky version but we’ll give you the short one. We have our fearless and unconventional mother, Young Salo, to thank. With a single-minded entrepreneurial spirit, she decided to start her own business at the age of 49. She had a passion for the nail industry and we did everything in our power to support her. In the end, this is a family business.
    Greg, the older brother, became a licensed nail technician after switching gears from fire fighter’s training. He is energy personified and has a true passion for developing the best professional nail care products and education. Habib is the younger brother. He jumped in a few years later; taking a detour from medical school and a life in music. He brings his own creative mind for business, marketing and strategy. Unexpectedly, we are a perfect team.
    Today, more than 20 years later, Young Nails Inc., is a professional nail care manufacturing company exporting to over 40 countries worldwide and distributing domestically to over 3000 stores. We’re respected for our next-level product innovation and education. Our mission is to bring you the best quality products and we’ll show you how to use them with incredible results. It’s really that simple.
    Welcome to the Young Nails family!

    Something that helps too is to make sure your base is either roughed up(buffed) or tacky(cured,but not wiped gel) this gives your brush something to grip to so your brush isnt sliding around

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  4 года назад +2

      Only want to expose your acrylic brush to monomer, acetone will fray it because it is real hair. If your brush gets clogged with acrylic, soak it in monomer then work it out on your table towel. Repeat until clean

      Make sure you apply a coat of Protein Bond before your gel polish. If you still find the gel polish spreading, try doing 1-2 nails at a time or using a thicker gel polish, such as our Cream Clays or Striper gel paints. You can also use a clean gel brush to touch up the smile lines if they move.

    I love YN and there products and to me YN is more about education I know this is going to sound cheeky but its not meant to be as I love you guys and its thanks to u you guys I got into nails and education. So here goes! I cringed so badly when that brush with the gel to wiped on bare fingers as there is so many bad examples of this. It should never and I mean NEVER be done just incase someone new to nails is watching this. YN as an educational platform I think that was a big let down. I'm so sorry to say that but I feel allergic reactions and allergy's do not get taking seriously and its happing more and more. I think its educators like yourself that should be putting it out there as there is a lac of it on these platforms.Along with education there should be awareness as well. I Know it looks like something small but can turn into something life changing.I hope you guys understand i'm not trying to be mean just awareness is essential to.

      Some gel polishes have more of a dispersion layer than others, so if you are painting designs over these dispersion layers, the paints can move/flow a little. If this is an issue for your design, you can wipe off the dispersion layer and then do your design with Mission Control and top coat over.

When doing the art, do i do it after the top coat and when it is tacky? or right after the color before the top coat when tacky? And what kind of gel polish can you use to do the nail art? Can it be the soak off kind?

    • @aleialaw
      @aleialaw 2 года назад +2

      Do painting before topcoat. Using the sticky layer as a base allows your paints to stick without sliding around. You can paint with anything. Gel paints usually have more pigment than gel polish, but you can still paint with gel polish. You can even paint with acrylic craft paint. But that's really old school. Just make sure you seal with topcoat.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Год назад

      You can do your designs with the Mission Control gel paints over cured gel polish or over the top coat but it should be done before removing the tacky surface or on a filed surface. Mission Control will cure tack free, but for better durability, we recommend applying top coat over it.

      Use a shorter brush for curved lines. It helps with control and consistency.

    Wait, (new here) do I need separate gel polish for art work?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Год назад +1

      Depending on what kind of art work you are wanting to do, you may need a different kind of gel. Gel polishes tend to be a little thinner in pigment and can run or self level. If you are doing intricate designs and need something highly pigmented or not self leveling, we recommend using our Mission Control gel paints.

    Should base coat be used before art? Idk what’s wrong but my art always bleeds if I apply base coat first. But I thought base coat was necessary!

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Год назад

      It's a personal preference. If you do apply base coat, after curing, wipe the tacky surface, apply Protein Bond and your art and then top coat. This will keep the gel paint from bleeding into the base coat but the Protein Bond will help the top coat adhere.

    I can’t help but feel like a quality nail art pen would be so amazing. I’ve just never found any that don’t clog or spit or something. Can a sharpie work? I feel like the top coat would smear it.

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  Год назад

      We have not tested using Sharpie markers for nail art, so we can't say how they would perform with the top coat. Be cautious if you do test it out as markers are not necessarily designed to be used on the nails/skin. We only recommend using cosmetic grade products or products intended for safe use on nails.

    Okay, but these are like actual good tips. I like the flash curing tip. Also, unrelated. Doing acrylic nails you have to place the bead and guide the product as it drips slowly down. But mine just stays there even though it's not a dry bead. Why?

    • @youngnailsinc
      @youngnailsinc  4 года назад

      Yes you want to work wetter and angle the finger down so the product can flow and doesn't flood the cuticle or sidewalls

    Not gonna lie, I could find cheaper products, but I buy almost exclusively YN products simply because of the videos. I go back to the products because let's be real - they just work perfectly! The biggest hurdle i still have is builder gel on myself with my non dominant hand. But I'm determined to master it. Curious, I haven't seen yet - do you have any videos/products that lean towards 3d sculpting for nails?

      We would recommend practicing with whatever you are going to be using so you are comfortable with those techniques. Traditional polish will dry quicker and you don't have as much time to polish and perfect your smile line. You can use a small detailer brush (or even a small lipstick brush) dipped in acetone to clean up the smile line. Also make sure you are balancing with your pinkie or ring finger to hold your hand steady when you are polishing. Here's a video that shows different polishing techniques that may help. ruclips.net/video/pLxItW03isM/видео.htmlsi=eVqCWgC0dBXLR_yg

    I loved the video as alway y’all make the best. And specially you products I am in love, but for the cleaning of brushes everyone says different 🤔 I’ve known people who have 10 yr brushes and swear by acetone and monomer cleaning, some say acetone is like shampoo and the monomer like conditioner for brushes ? Some say acetone is horrible some say they have used only acetone for years 🤷‍♀️ seems like it’s one of those we have to try ourselves and see what’s true type of thing, I also wonder if it’s because they have bought cheaper liquids
