It might have taken 2-3 people but you could've definitely asked someone to use their membership and gotten a Yes .
Or get a membership, buy what you need, and then cancel it afterwards. They can also keep the membership and order online from Costco and have it shipped to them with free shipping on orders over $35.
Yes, why not this? @@ElleKayGee
@@lazlo5055 we did ask on discord!
The cashiers started checking peoples pictures this year to make sure it’s you and won’t let you use someone else most of the time.
@@jaredf6205 you just give your money or card to the person with the membership, go through checkout with them and let them pay with your money.
"I feel like I'm an advertisement for Costco."
Oh no, trust me: Costco is an advertisement for itself! 😄
Costco is amazing
The deal with buying electronics at Costco is that they double the warranty length. Super handy. Had a flatscreen lose a pixel line. Costco came and got it and replaced it with a new one.
Not only that but they are great with returns. I bought an Orbi wireless router but before I was able to set it up, RL happened and I didn't get to setting it up for a year. Only then did I find out it didn't work with the the equipment from my ISP, and even though it was a year since I purchased it, they took it back.
Yep and if you buy with American Express you get even longer
Costco usually has free food samples on the ends of the aisles in food section. For $1.50 you can have a hot dog, a drink, and all the free samples you can eat.
And, free refills on the drink to boot!
3:30 there's one
Costco membership are global. I bought my Costco membership in Korea for half the price of the one sold in the USA and I can use it any location around the world.
Costco's brand is Kirkland because their headquarters was origionally in Kirkland, Washington.
Still is.
@@afcgeo882 their website says their headquarters is in Issaquah, Washington.
@@SpiritWolf209 I stand corrected. They moved it.
The owner of Costco said that he's never going to raise the price of the food ever and it's going to stay cheap. I love it
The new CEO wanted to raise prices on the hotdog but the founding CEO threatened to kill him. So as long as Jim Sinegal is alive, we'll have $$1.50 dawgs.
That's because no one can get out of the store without paying $150+, so those $1.50 hot dogs & soda combos more than make back their money, even though they're sold at a loss. I went to my first Costco in 1988 and the hot dog and soda was $1.50 back then! But at this point, it's a marketing cost.
@BigTroyT But it's still a really good price for today. Also the portion is huge.
“Change the price of the hot dogs and I’ll f**king k*ll you” 😂😂😂
I don't think they're selling them at a loss...just not making much profit. I can buy a PREMIUM pack of 10 hot dogs for around $5. Off brand for around $3. Now figure in Costco is buying direct and getting an even cheaper price, and the most expensive thing about a fountain drink is the cup...they're still making a profit. Keeping the prices low is better than any advertising they could ever pay for.
The best deals at Costco are the rotisserie chickens and the hot dog and soda. People go to Costco and pick up a fully cooked rotisserie chicken for dinner.
If you want to buy things at Costco? Buy a lot. The Simpsons even joked about four-packs of pianos. Classic.
".... and we got Coke". As Pepsi executives have strokes.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
All soft drinks are coke here in the south. Someone asks you what you want. You say coke. They ask you what flavor 😂😂 idk it's a southern thing for sure. Better than POP 😂😅
Wasn’t Coke a Costco shop ?!
Used to be. Now it's Pepsi ☹️
@@squoctopus absolutely Coke 👍🏼 & Pepsi 👎🏼
The American and British pronunciations for the same things are always fascinating. I'm used to the differences in words like Nike and Addidas, but I now have a new one...Capri Sun.
I hope you enjoyed your American shopping tour. You could get lost in a Costco. And yes they serve hot food that you can snack on while shopping. 😀
Costco is everywhere in the UK. What are they talking about?
Membership is $60 per year. If you have a family , you can make that back by just buying the big packs of toilet paper there. Lol
Yeah, I don't even buy much there but I have easily made my money back.
If you don't it's a rip off
I haven't.
Also the justbare chicken, you can basically replace eating out like chickfila/cane's level of chicken at hoke for cheaper
Or just with the nappies and some chicken.
@@stevepalmberg5905 It really depends on what you buy. It's just me and I easily make up the membership price. I pay attention to pricing at grocery stores/Target/Amazon, and know which things are cheaper at Costco.
Seeing your excitement is so fun❤ I'm usually excited when I go to Costco because it's not the same trip twice.
LOL! I go to Costco for lunch often. I'll fill up with gas (usually about 20 cents/gallon cheaper than other places), walk around for samples (hit or miss during the week, sometimes I'll buy a tub/box of something) and get a hot dog special for lunch( you can ask for chopped onions at the counter). Mix the onions with the relish and mustard.
I'm not a total cheapskate; I've bought TVs, laptops, printers, tires, Arlo cameras, etc. Spent thousands but saved many hundreds.
I'm sorry you didn't have a friend with a membership. Hopefully when you come back we can help with that. 😊 So much good stuff at Costco and great prices! It's one of my favorite places to shop when i need to shop in bulk.
Hot dog, soda, and pizza are must haves for any of my Costco visits and often a reason just to walk in. Plenty of diced onions to add with just an ask at the counter, at least here
They didn't check out the famous $4.99 whole rotisserie chickens. It's been this price for many years.
Everybody is a walking advertisement for Costco. I can say that I get some of my clothes at Costco. I get my prescriptions, glasses, and hearing aides there. All my toilet paper, paper towels, soda, candy, sugar, etc there. You can get all these online as well. We all have trouble negotiating the pizza slice too. Don't feel bad. I get the Hot Dog myself. I love their smoothies as well.
Costco hot dogs and pizza are one of my favorite fast food places to eat . Millie you look so relaxed. I'm glad y'all are enjoying your visit
Remember that $1.50 hot dog and soda includes unlimited refills! Also, Costco sells the hot dogs in packages and they do freeze well
He said Nike like you pronounce “Mike” 😅 wildddd. I love Costco. I don’t need nothin but now I feel like going and spending unnecessary money. Lemme get my shoes on.
They pronounce Nike wrong and we pronounce Adidas wrong. I think we are even. lol
I love Costco! The quality of their products are the best. They have all high end products and I love their ready made meals when your to busy to. Cook their delicious!
This is exactly how I reacted my first time in Costco 😂
Some things like the hotdogs and the rotisserie chicken are sold at a loss to bring people into the store. It seems to work because the one where I live, is always busy
Another great vid, thanks for your effort, love how honest and fun you make your expereinces!
So glad you guys had a chance to explore the US! You could spend a lifetime exploring our natural wonders too. Come back again soon!
That’s my local Costco. Cedar Park, Texas.
Thank you for covering the camera when the little girl passed by. ❤
I was wondering if that was intensional.
I grew up in Kirkland. lol. the one it's named after. (Bear Creek - another Costco label - is an area of Redmond, WA.)
Lunch time on weekends, or leading up to holidays are great for samples.
Costco has online, so even if you don't have one close to you, they'll ship it.
They just announced they are putting in a Costco 20 minutes from me. I am so excited 🎉. Our closest major store is 20 minutes anyway
In the big box stores (even Costco or Sam's Club) you need to watch unit pricing. It is easy to get into the trap of 'It's so large it must be a good price'. Many times it will be but then they 'zing ya' on a few things. Even the smaller size in the same store will have a cheaper unit price than the large. In the past few years prices have really shot up here. People stopped buying & things surprisingly have come down. Demand lower prices at home. Price will come down.
I've noticed that. There are some things that Costco is a great price on. But I've seen a fair bit of items where I could get them cheaper per unit at Walmart of Winco.
@@SpiritWolf209 And sometimes it isn't just a little difference.
I buy most of our day-to-day items (e.g., food, drinks, bathroom supplies, vitamins, paper towels, etc.) from Costco. However, I also purchased a French door refrigerator for my parents from Costco this week. It was regularly $3000 but it was on sale for $1299. They offered free white glove delivery service and removal of their old fridge. I get 2% cash back every year. This year, I received about $240. So, yeah, I spend a lot at Costco each year. lol
If you get the $120/year Executive membership, the Citi Bank rewards are double. Beside the cashback, you get the same amount again in store credit. I put mine on a gift card.
I really enjoy watching this couple. They are just down to earth folks and it's refreshing to see someone respecting our country and enjoying themselves
Costco in Canada: Rotisserie chicken is $7.99 you can get a cold one for $4.99 if there are any on the shelf. Also they will give you a free pass for one day to buy anything in the store without buying a membership. Hot dog and pop is $1.50
Loved these vids for sure! Sam's is my coast's COSTCO but I love visiting. Especially back in the day when the weekends meant a bevy of folks giving out free food samples! I hope on yalls next visit, you have a sort of American sidekick to give tips and answer questions that ya'll have when you're out, especially for the food vids!!! I'm glad you enjoyed your trip but the lack of syrup (x2!!), plain grits and lack of honey mustard knowledge hurt my heart!!
first, I wanna say I’m a really big fan. I really enjoy watching y’alls videos. That said I came across a video that must’ve been one of your very first because your accent was so much more pronounced.. I spent a year in England with 2 Para on a military exchange, and I was struggling to understand you! Well done all the best to you and your family! Stay safe
Gotta have the legendary Costco hotdogs that haven't increased in price in like 20 years.
They did.
I’m a single person. I buy my toilet roll and paper towels at Costco once or maybe twice a year. It saves me so much money plus any discounts they have on anything else. If you’re close to one in the UK get the membership, it’s worth it. Saves you trips to the shops.
Costco's product line, Kirkland Signature, is well known to typically be on par or better than their name brand competitors. Between the quality, quantity and price it's really hard to beat. Additionally, Costco's hot and ready to eat rotisserie chicken has been and still is $4.99 (for over 30yrs) and the hot dog and soda from the hot food area in the front of the store has been and still is $1.50 (for over 40yrs) without destroying portion size over the decades. They also typically have gas pumps and usually have the cheapest gas in their area. If you live near a Costco and don't have a membership you're missing out!
Kirkland liquor is great. Especially if you want to fool around and make flavored vodka. Or have a party without going broke!
cool video i work for Costco. in illinois interesting see a different Costco through your trip. a lot same but still i see many differences
Both the city I live in and the 2 nearest cities all have costcos and all 3 are pretty different. I was suprised.
I visited Costco with friends who have a membership. I bought several heavy winter lined shirts and several sweat pants. The prices were great and am pleased with the “Costco Look”.
Costco pays their employees well from everything I have heard. They stand behind their Kirkland products which are regarded highly.
And they have medications and eyeglasses and tires at reasonable prices, so the $60 annual membership is pretty easy to offset even if only one person buys there.
For a family it’s really hard to beat.
I understood that anyone can use CostCo's pharmacy with or without the membership card.
Former Costco worker. Their pay is fair and they are a good company.
We love getting the rotisserie chickens sold the next day as whole cold chicken for 5.99 here in Canada. They're an amazing deal for picnics, salads, sandwiches or just crisp it up in the oven and it's ready for dinner. Day old cold chicken is the best!!
Now y'all are definitely southern when you call a Pepsi a Coke 😂❤! Southern card approved
😂 foreal
Pepsi and Coke are two different soda brands
❤
@@marydavis5234 in many parts of the South we refer to all soda as Coke similar to how other regions call it pop. It isn't brand specific.
When I was 13 at the community girls softball park I went to the concession stand to by a coke. I returned to the bleachers and told my Mom, “I told her I wanted a coke and she didn’t even ask me what flavor. She just gave me a cola.” I live in FL so we had some transplants. From then on I referred to it as a soda when I remembered to.
He did it! He did it again! He said, "TERRY'S BLACK"!
Actually he said Tewwies Bwack.
The Costco hot dog and drink has always been $1.50, since they opened in 1985. Recently, the CFO said that the price is safe. They have no intention of raising it. If the price kept up with inflation, it would be about $4.50.
I can't believe Millie didn't see the appliances and her "American Frig".
You know they have Costcos in the UK, certainly around London where we almost visited one last year that was near our hotel just east of Heathrow. From pictures I've seen it's basically the same setup, just somewhat different products and of course prices. Would be interesting for you to do a followup upon your return to the UK, when you make it to the big island.
Costco used to let non-members purchase in store with a Costco gift card. Some store still allow.
But the card can only be purchased by a member.
I think you're thinking of Sams Club...they do offer trials and day passes...Costco never has. I've read that Costco doesn't make much profit off what it sells... it makes it's profit off membership fees.
@@Skulllywag The "Shop card" does let non-members shop there, but it can only be bought by a member. That's as close as they get
Costco owns the factory that makes the hot dogs. They had to do this to keep the price steady at $1.50.
you could have bought a membership right there!
It's good in Great Briain, New Zealand, anywhere there's a store.
Costco Food court is 100% the thing that got me through college.
my parents had a membership and i was able to get the second card, so i used it for gas, bulk food shopping, and quick meals.
it's definitely slept upon.
The Costco brand diapers/nappies are really good. My daughter started setting them for my grandson. So much cheaper than the name brands. Most people will let you use their membership card if you ask, especially since you don’t live in the US.
Also, buying in bulk is great for the holiday’s, or when having people over. I like their bath towels.
Thank you for sharing!
I hope you got a refill on that drink on the way out! LOL! That hotdog needed some relish and raw diced onions by the way. I always have to dab off the excess grease on the pizza, but it is delicious nevertheless. I'm surprised you commented on the Dunkin' Donuts coffee. That's all I buy and they don't always have it. Every time I see it there, I buy some, need it or not.
When I was still working. My co worker and I would go there for cheap lunch
1:16 I'm betting they've never seen one of those Big Ass Fans like the one up on the ceiling. I wish they'd have noticed it.
I love Costco... I like lots of the prices, the products they carry, their services and how they pay their works a livable wage. And best of all is their membership is international... If you have a membership you can use it in any Costco's in the world.
I’m willing to bet that someone would’ve let you use their membership card. Also I worked as a front end manager over the front end at Sam’s Club and would let people occasionally especially in your situation use a store courtesy membership like the one that they scan at the food court for all guest regardless if they have a membership. We got our 1st Costco in Arkansas about 2 years ago. Walmart had a monopoly over the state of Arkansas since the home office was established there. So now there is finally 1 Costco in the state.
With your wedding coming up, here's a thrifty couple's secret. Wedding cakes are insanely expensive, especially if you have large families. So many couples buy a small "slicing" cake for the tradition, and then have the excellent and very inexpensive Costco cakes in different flavors in the catering kitchen to serve the guests. It's also a GREAT place to stock the bar for your reception and then just have the caterer provide a bartender or two. I've had two extremely artistic nieces buy the bouquets of seasonal flowers and then we all get together to deconstruct them and remake them into bridal bouquets, centerpieces and boutonniers.
Love watching you guys in Costco. Sam’s club is on par with them and they use to give a 1 day free pass. But that was years ago. Welcome, from your cousin across the pond.
"Terry's Black" again 😂
We kept saying it by accident the whole trip. These were all prerecorded so couldn’t correct ourselves after the comments :)
@@TheBeesleys99 Yeah, you've got the bug locked in. I don't know what the cure is; getting drunk, maybe. 😄
You guys should do some music reactions too! It’d be interesting to see what kinds of music you like/hate lol
Yeah it seems like Millie Is a big Harry Styles fan.
Glad you enjoyed your cosco experience. Maybe if you ever decide to move to the US I will meet you in one someday. I always am amazed by the portions and pricing in costco. They are just too good to be true. Yet... they are true. The member ship is definitely worth it for family shopping. Individual shopping... not as much.
There are 29 Costcos in the UK. Mostly England with Wales and Scotland only having a handful. I've been in the one near Edinburgh. Your membership card is good at any Costco. Do note: Their Cash Cards are in the currency of where you buy them. If I buy one in the States for $100 US and mail it to my Canadian friend, she gets only $100 CA (about $75 US) out of it. They don't do currency conversions. But a Cash Card CAN be used to as a "day pass" to get in and to shop. They will take the check out amount out of the card first, usually rendering it worthless to buy anything on a second trip (the card HAS to have a value still on it to go through the check out lanes). Cash Cards never expire. In some States you have to have a Cash Card or Membership card to eat at their food court.
Love Mums hat!
James and Millie, they have had $1.50 hot dog and soda deal at Costco for over twenty years at least. 15 years ago when I used to work near a Costco I went there all the time on my lunch for that deal and before me, my parents and their co workers used to take advantage of that deal for lunch on their workdays! It's such good and so ridiculously cheap and quick too! No fast food place can touch that deal!
Ive got a costco literally round the corner from me (busy main road type of area) very useful place to have nearby.
You can get a full size pizza at Costco for $10 😀
😂Funny you say maybe be first time seeing this store for us. While not my first time hearing of or seeing images of Costco i've never been to one. My family and I have always gone to Sams Club which is ver similar, but owned by Walmart. Glad y'all enjoyed your trip. Maybe next time visit southeast too. I live near Lake Guntersville close to Huntsville AL.
I LOVE Costco pizza! So glad you tried it!
I don't think its the best pizza but it is solid pizza and definitely the best for the price.
I just got a great eye Rx & glasses. Best ever.
Most of my friends are shocked that I can usually spend under $100 at Costco........I of course don't tell them I live very close to one...and can go more often. ha ha ha
I don't have a membership but I have had their birthday cake and it's really good.
Costco is easily my favorite store
There are differences in what Costco carries by country, state or province, even stores in different parts of the city
The 2nd Costco location was a short drive away from where I grew up, in Portland, Oregon. I first went there in 1990, on a Saturday where they have tons of free samples of food products. Not only are they a great place to shop, especially when you're one of 5 kids, but they're really awesome employers. I worked as a seasonal worker during the holiday season in college, and they paid a few dollars over minimum wage, plus full benefits for their full-time regular workers, along with a free Costco membership. They also gave employees overtime pay (time-and-a-half) for any major holidays that you worked (that they were open for), and any Sundays you might have been on schedule for, since they are a Christian owned company. They always gave Sundays off to those that wanted it off to go to their church. Costco has repeatedly been on the Top Employers to Work For lists as well. Really good company; can't say enough positive things about them!
Welcome to Costco, I love you! 😂😂😂😂
The apple juice stays in the fridge after its opened and lasts for weeks. If you don't drink it all...cold apple juice is the best
When i was in Cambridge i had a professor mention to me how much cheaper the US price for apple products are compared to the UK price? so it might not be a costco thing but i do think costco apple deals usually have a lot of value.
Funny, at first I thought you meant apple products, like apple juice. Millie thought the twin gallons of apple juice were too heavy to lift!
I've been to one once. So much stuff. I would need a freezer.
The gasoline they sell at Costco is always the cheapest in town. So just that pays for your annual membership alone. They used to offer chopped unions to put on the hot dogs. Remember you can refill the soda. Too bad nobody recognized you. I'd have bought you anything you wanted.
Apparently the Gasoline at Costco doesn't work. Some cars don't start when you put Costco Gas in it.
You can get a once pass to purchase things at Costco. You have to pick it up at the customer service counter.
Not in the US. But a member can bring in up to two guests.
Really? My Costco doesn't do that, and their website specifically says they don't do day passes.
@@SpiritWolf209 They did for a friend of mine about 6 months ago.
Their rotisserie chickens are HUGE and are only $5. You can feed a family of 5 with 1 and still have left overs. It's insane.
I can appreciate that you’re wearing the proper NFL team cap… the World Famous Dallas Cowboys!!
The Patriots are way better. Happy 4th of July!! lol
There are 29 Costcos in the UK, you can use your membership anywhere on the planet
How many on their island?
They live on the island of Jersey. The nearest Costco to them would be Southampton, about 160 miles across the English Channel.

@@SpiritWolf209it’s waaay closer than Stateside 😂
@@SpiritWolf209 Wow. Thank you for pointing that out. I have to be honest I stopped watching before they mentioned about Costco in the UK or Jersey. A little bit of egg on my face on this one. I usually watch all their videos. Although I had no clue where they live! I hear UK and I'm thinking England. I just googled it, it's a small island. They might as well be in France it's so far from the mainland UK. Well that makes a lot more sense to me now. Have they made of video of Jersey? That would be awesome to see their perspective.
Great stuff 💥💥💥💥 great cap James ……… Gooooo Cowboys 🤩🤩🇬🇧🇺🇸
I have been a member for years and I have never eaten anything from the food court.
Their pizza is really good, the $1.50 hot dog and drink has been the same price forever. Those are good. You can get a 14 pack of the hot dogs in the refrigerated section and a bag of the same buns for about $16 and make them at home.
Maybe next time put in a post on RUclips along with Discord about which Costco you’ll be going to when you plan your trip and I’m certain you’ll get one of your fans to get you in! I’m in Southern California, if you come to a Costco here, I’ll gladly get you in! 😃❤

Did you get to see the size of their pies? Apple, pumpkin, or chicken pot pie they are all huge.
You could have gotten a membership, bought what you wanted, and then canceled the membership if you're not going to use it again, or keep it and order from them online and get free shipping on orders over $35.
They may have not qualified for a membership.
@@michaelcitrak9977 even if somehow they don't qualify for any of the levels of membership they can use a Shop Card and buy things online from them, even in the UK. You just figure out what you are going to want to order, put the amount of money you need on a card and purchase your items as a guest.
James has the proper oversized pizza slice technique going on. That’s the final question on the immigration exam. Come on over, guys!
Costco is a weirdly American experience. :) It is SO bulk and big box but it has all these services for members...tires, opticians, seriously....jewelry, prescriptions......loads of things. Still there are so many things that keep you coming back again and again.
In America, you can't underestimate the cost of prescriptions. Our way of dealing with healthcare and Rx's is different than the British NHS. It's a jumble of employer plan insurance and bargain shopping. The buying power of a company like Costco (or an employer) means that we can get necessary medications for a FAR lower price...sometimes just pennies/coppers/pence on the dollar.
Walmart has their version. It's called Sams's Club. Same type place, and the hot dog/drink combo is $1.50 there as well. The pizza/drink combo that has the same size slice of pizza is a bit more. It's $2.50 if I remember correctly.
Sam's Club is better in my town. Definitely better cakes! Other higher-end stuff. But Costco has some stuff they don't. I used to have both cards but that was silly.
We used to have to drive about 40 minutes to Costco, but this year they built one about 15 minutes away. Love it. One of my favorite buys is 40 16.9 bottles of water for $3.99.
That's not Coke, it's Pepsi. Ick.
Grandma is a very attractive woman.
Places like this about me. Gotta but a membership to buy stuff? Imagine how much money their losing that way. Them and Sam's Club 😂
They are quality dogs! The roast chicken is good!
