Using a Multifunction lanyard (UK 2rope regs)

Took my Skateboard to work today so wanted to keep my pack as light as possible..
And loads of people have been telling me recently that climbing a small tree with 2 long ropes is a pain from a rope management/redirecting point of view
So, here's how I used a simple 6 wrap prussik set midline on my lanyard to help short distance transitions in this small tree, and maintain 2 points of contact in compliance with current best practice changes

But is the lanyard long enough to get you to the ground from any point in the tree ?! Lol, the whole thing is a rabbit hole ! Do you really bother when nobody's watching ?
