Thanks Gaz Lab for this video. I am now going ahead and buying a 9700 tomorrow morning. Yes, we need more operators using 2m - I totally agree. Cheers & thanks. Mark, VK2FHSV NSW Australia 73's.
mine just here today. comments in a week or so. So far my only comment with that bright display, I wish they would have back lit the front buttons. I know it's both base & mobile, but a little larger like the 746
Hi Gary, i wonder if the SO239 is an easy swap out just like the 7100 ? Not soldered in just rests on a little spring loaded clamp. Like you say strange they just didn't have all 3 as N Type.
@@nigelb5341 not had time.. I am told it is possible .. likely to be in the repeater/memory section of the screen .. I will look when the calls slow down.. gaz
Great video, keep ‘em coming! Would like to see some experimentation with tape and roll-up conductive fabric antennas too. Thanks, 73 Tom KC3QAC
Very nicely done! Thanks & 73 AC5H.

Good idea Mark! I’ve got one in the closet I’m getting out and setting up next week.
Dear , Can we modify the VHF freq bellow then 144 MHZ? I found standard frequency is 144 above. 73 (JZ18AKG)

I believe it's just a clip.. lots of folk have changed it.. gaz

not sure, I will have a look tomorrow gaz
@@TheGazLab hi fella, did you find out if you can display channel names? Thanks

@@TheGazLab 👍
Wish they could all be SO-239. Coax doesn’t usually come with N connectors.
Jose B Rivera most people want all type!
Can we configure 400 MHz and above frequency in this transceiver or it works form 144 to 148 and 430 Mhz to 450 Mhz
USA spec might do you, there are rumours UK models can be modified :-)
@@TheGazLab Thanks for your reply :-).Can you suggest any other tranceiver for 400MHz and above.
@@TheGazLab Is this transceiver will receive data at 400MHz and above frequency
Aye shame about air/maritime rx although like most that own one I have a fm rig for those
Needs a lighted face on the radio
You can remove two diodes to get 144 to 148 & 430 to 450, makes it USA spec.
Better than nothing 👍😎🤟👀
Yes I have details of the mod, sadly it does leave your warranty in limbo..
