Great movie, love the fresh take on ‘Zombie Outbreak Flick’, but it really bothers me that the former ‘infected’ show no signs of physical wear-and-tear from their time spent as zombies. I mean, main dude was infected for 4 years, yet somehow his appearance, once ‘cured’, shows no signs of prolonged sickness or physical damage that would seem typical of someone infected for such a long period of time. Think about it; if you’re infected for even a few months, your human form is going to reflect the ongoing neglect and physical trauma that comes with being a ‘zombie’. Really a careless oversight
@@louis8487 it was fresh enough. Izombie was of much less serious tone comparing this The Cured. I like this movie a lot better because it realistically depicts a society reacting to a zombie outbreak: the cruelty of humanity and how far people go to harm others if it means they get to feel safe.
A zombie plague outbreak is stopped in Europe, and the cured are relegated to a second class of citizen. Really great ideas and acting. Highly recommended especially for people of refined taste in zombie movies.
This reminds me of a TV show called in the flesh it was on a few years ago it was about people who were cured of the zombie infection and integrated back into their hometown but most of the community didn't want them back and both sides ended up fighting the people who were cured could still remember what they had done when they were zombies.
In the Flesh's Partially Deceased Syndrome Sufferers were not cured of being undead, they were just returned to sentience and their decay was arrested . Not healed, arrested. Its a fantastic show. This one looks like a rip off
At least it gives more info out then Netflix,if I had to go by what Netflix lets you see I would never watch a show or movie. Thank you IFC Films for this great trailer.
I am currently watching Fear the Walking Dead and I started thinking "Is there a movie out there where the zombies are slowly but surely cured and getting their humanity back?" Lo and behold I find this movie and it even has Ellen Page! I had no idea she was ever in a zombie film but it's interesting to see her in one. I am interested in the idea of zombies being human again and learning to be part of the community once more. I am also interested in the idea of zombies that communicate with each other through evolution. Similar to how we thought the "whisperers" were talking ZOMBIES but it was a huge disappointment to find out they were people in zombie masks.
I Totally recomended! If you love zombie movies and want to see something different this is the movie. It displays a whole new scene where we see people cured and how they integrate to "normal life". This and Train to busan are a must watch !!!
I don't care what people say, The Cured is a loving finale to the 28 Days series. Yes, I know, it's has nothing to do with Danny Boyle or what he did with 28 Days or 28 Weeks later. But if you watch it you can hear the tributes to the last movie that Danny Boyle "28 Months Later" never did. This movie is freakin' amazing. Fasten your seat belts as you are going to have the (beep) scared out of you. What's the premise? OK...I'm glad you asked. Imagine if they find a cure for "the infected" but taking the cure comes with a cost...you can remember EVERYTHING you did while infected and who you infected. Just watch...
Yeah, Ellen Page! (Although I think she renamed herself to Elliot, as she came out as Trans, I think?) The Umbrella Academy, Flatliners, Juno, Inception... X-Men. Also, she looks SO much, like Ellie from The Last of Us II... IMO anyway.
I honestly find that “oh this the last of us wannabe” comments annoying. Yes this has Ellen Paige. Yes this has zombies. But the similarities end there. The entire point of this movie is about the social ramifications of trying to reintegrate formed infected into society and the tensions that creates. There is nothing in the last of us even remotely similar to that.
the book that In The Flesh is based on was created way before The Cured... look up The Rising... it even came out before The Cured (after the cure) the book this movie is based on... so yeah they ripped it off of In The Flesh one way or another
So Ellen Page got mad at Naughty Dog for inspiring them the first look of Ellie and now that The Last of Us is one of the most critically acclaimed video games of all time she's making a zombie movie...
In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh In the Flesh... Would you all STFU!

looked promising, but then they gave away that itll just be another zombie movie in the end. would have been interesting to explore the aftermath of an overcome apocalypse completely, only relying on the social drama, without any relapse
What do you mean not fresh? All the zombie movies are about fighting zombies. This one is just the aftermath when people get back control and even developed a cure for it, and reintegrating those who got better back into society.
I like the genre, (28 days later, Shawn Of The Dead,.) but this movie could have been so much more. When I heard that this was an IFC movie, I was really hoping for a different take. It had one for most of the movie, and the discriminatory comparisons of how we wrongly treat ex convicts, and terrrorists, was compelling. Unfortunately the vioilent hollywood ending held no surprises. Hopefully someone willl take this idea, and someday make a great movie.

And each movie showed the zombie apocalypse at a different stage. 1. Night: The beginning (Society is first introduced) 2. Dawn: The continuation (As society is being introduced, survivors adapt) 3. Was it a fresh take? Izombie already did zombies and humans coexisting on thin ice before this movie.

That spot on.

Refined? 😀It's very far from Romero level
So... real Ellie + zombies = live action Last of Us :D
Finally!!!!
Nah shes Jodie from Beyond Two Souls
IKR
Calling her the real Ellie after the shit she pulled over the last of us is kinda gross.
Art of Swords Gross? They literally stole her face. There were way too much people thinking it was her. TLoU is great, but that was messed up.

What a shame the plot was given away in the trailer, change the word trailer to teaser and leave it there. Still the move looks interesting.
i was thinking the same.
Political bs in zombie movies?? WTF

Seems very similar to the british series In The Flesh, except those were actual zombies, PDS, Partially Dead Syndrome lol
First thing I thought of when I read the description for this..
That was a good show. It deserved a longer run. Maybe this will do it some justice.
BRING IT BACK ❤️
I love that serie, i cry sometimes because its over.... :-(
This looks pretty good with a strong drama tale taking center stage and the infected becoming the interesting back story.
It is and Ellen is AMAZING in this movie They should give her an award already I think
I'm really intrigued mostly because it'll be my replacement for "In the Flesh"... seriously give that show another season
Is this Ellen Page's response to the accusations she made regarding her likeness being used in The Last Of Us?
Fuck yes
I think she's gay.
She was hired for the last of us ,
Daniel West did Ellen Page play Ellie in The Last Of Us? Or is it actually Ashley Johnson?
Ellen Paige is stupid.
Im just here looking for ellie comments.xD

Im in this movie as a Cured person. I'm so excited to see it. It's gonna amazing

It's about time that they did a zombie film where they find a cure
Anyone here because of covid?
Yes!

Could have just filmed the junkies in town for the Zombies ! Nice to see Dublin being used though, will watch it for that alone!
