Seeing this three years later and want to say that I love it! My daughter, aunt, and a few cousins of mine are genealogy enthusiasts. What a wonderful Idea to make even a throw size for each of them. Thank you!
Yay! I'm glad some of my older videos are getting some views! This was a fun quilt to make, and definitely a keepsake. I still need to make one for my family tree. It's on the list! :)
I am just planning a photo shoot/memory quilt for my son who is in real estate. My husband has printed 5 collages detailing my son’s life viz boxing, cycling, real estate, childhood and family. I plan to sew a village of 5 buildings and make a flap, but opening like a door and having a “doorknob.” I thought of putting two sided fusible between the layers of the flap to keep it flat. My entire quilt will be hand sewn queen sized. You have given me another idea. Thank you.
The quilt is beautiful! Can you share where you got the pictures printed on fabric? I was going to try to use iron on sheets but I don’t like that plasticy feel. And I don’t have the tools to do sublimation.
Of course! I met a couple with a booth at a quilt show several years ago. Their company is called Traveling Designs, and I liked what I saw in person. They were quick to reply and easy to work with over email. Here's their website. :) www.travelingdesigns.com/

Just want to say this quilt idea is fabulous!
Thank you so much, Tara! The flaps are a fun addition. :)

That sounds amazing and perfect for your son! I'm glad if this video was any help! :)
Beautiful! Great tutorial.
Thanks so much, Fiona!
