Jeffry Matias de Jesus Shirley Ballas has to have a good look at herself in the mirror because this is not the first time she has done this. Last year they voted off a very good dancer in Danny and saved the entertainment act in Grahame, she gave Dev false hope a few weeks ago. Craig is just as bad as her it’s quite obvious they vote using the scores on Saturday night. Len would’ve never done this because Len always would play fair. The show needs to have a look at the way they do the Results Show in general it’s time to go back to letting the public decide who goes. I mean you can’t have a go at Mike even he was shocked to be saved by Shirley. I think you can still look at the Aston situation as an example that Shirley is not a good head judge.

That is such a shock decision. Catherine holds so much more promise than Mike. Yes, this week wasn’t Cath’s week but her rumba was outstanding, especially for week three. Mike makes so many more mistakes but his confidence is more noticeable than Cath’s. In my opinion, definitely a wrong decision made. Catherine should have lasted much longer, Mike’s dances simply aren’t matching the standard of everyone else’s and admittedly neither were Cath’s but they were better than Mike’s. A disappointing result tonight.

This is a joke. There's no way this show isn't fixed this year. First was Dev and Dianne now Catherine and Johannas have gone. I'm sorry but this is a piss take.
Dev and dianne's phone line was down but I still think they should of done a recall of the votes or just gone of the leader board as it was just stupid they went out so early and this week I feel like it's fixed. Shirley could easily tell Catherine was the better dancer and I know motsi and Bruno could see it. They need a more sensible head judge.
There’s nothing about this show that’s fixed. It was just unlucky that Dev and Catherine were in the bottom two in the weeks they were technically weaker. Catherine was only better than Chris Ramsey’s abomination so it’s totally understandable it was her time.

Wrong vote BBC, you need to b e more transparent with public voting figures. A lesson from The X factor might be good when the judges are split the public vote takes precedent and voting made public. At the least you should show independent scrutiny of votes. We don't trust you!!!

They are only to vote on the Dance off Alone: and frankly I'm ok with this - dance competitions should be judged on what they produce on the night, not on past performances. Yes, they had a bad week, yes it sucks they are in the dance off, but fair play to Mike who is improving, loving every second of it, and is actually turning out good performances compared to where he was week one. Frankly, I'm sick of all the negativity. It's part of the show, people get eliminated. And I honestly did think Mike performed better than Catherine on the night.

Absolutely stupid, i love this show and it was a huge part of my childhood but it is such a fix there is no way that mike should still be here and kathrine is gone and so is dev. Its so unfair on the people that are actually improving and doing good that mike stays because he has been rubbish since day 1 and has stayed that way. If another great dancer leaves next week then I'm officially done with strictly

Last year everyone votes Ashley out but she was amazing and this year everyone keeping the good dancers in. yes they had danced before but the judges were harder on them and they were amazing.Though mike and Katya should get out soon

This comment section is horrible! The judges are/were professional dancers and are all capable of making decisions. They know much more about technical aspects and quality of performance than the majority of us do which is why even though I wish Catherine had stayed, we should respect Shirley’s decision as she had to judge based on that one performance. Not enough people voted for Catherine and that’s why she was in this situation. Blame the public and if your excuse is that you couldn’t get through to vote then make an online account. It takes all of 5 minutes and you get 3 votes. The judges are just doing their jobs so I don’t know why you’re hating on them. The amount of abuse that Shirley gets is horrible! Don’t blame her for it when she’s literally just doing her job and making a decision. If you’re not a professional dancer then you wouldn’t know which routine was more challenging or which steps were harder and executed better. The judges would. Stop complaining and make sure you vote next time.

I’d be fuming to lose to the guy who did that so called “samba” last week, whose one good dance (quickstep) was only marked highly because it was a contrast to every other dance he’s managed to butcher in the name of getting some lols.
Catherine meanwhile gave some beautiful dances including an iconic charleston and a stunning rumba, and was undermarked every step of the way.

Personally, I think Will should've been forced to withdraw from the competition. There shouldn't have been an elimination tonight and votes could've carried over to the following week. In DWTS US, if you're unable to perform for whatever reason, you're not given a free pass to the next week.
But will is gonna be fine next week he was forced by a doctor to rest it's not like jaimie where he is out for the whole thing plus they would have gotten a chuck tonne of controversy if the with drawled will bc he is one of this year's top dancers

I think it's ok for Will to get a free pass this week, though I'm not particularily fond of him. Sometimes stuff happens and this is just a show for entertainment, so you shouldn't be so harsh. However, if he is still unable to perform this week, then yes, I think he absolutely must withdraw. In this case however, I would actually love to see the german system be applied. In case there is any withdrawl, the last couple eliminated comes back into the competition. We also once had the case that one couple was eliminated, then someone had to withdraw and they came back and later even won the show.

Shirley made the correct decision. Catherine did NOT step it up in the leg department but Mike DID improve. So Catherine had to go. Remember it is only based on that dance right then and there. Even if Catherine did better in the main show but failed in the dance off she would still be sent home.
People not understanding that the decision the judges make is based on the two dances alone. Any other week Catherine would have been better. Sadly this week she wasn't and that's what they have to base it on.
Ridiculous, why bother with the other judges if one judge can overturn the result! Sorry IMO chose the wrong couple to go through!!! 🤬🤬
She only overturns it if the decision is split, if the other three judges all vote one way, it goes with the majority.

Why was Catherine even in the dance off anyway?! Chris should have been there instead. He was the true worst of the night. I didn't want Mike to go because, as bad as his previous dances have been, this one was actually good.
And I feel like if Will was able to dance Catherine wouldn't be in this situation. Like, who's bright idea was it to make Will with his disability jump off a table. Hello? Common sense?

But in all seriousness, this was a total mind screw. They got more votes from the judges but still went out on Shirley's vote? I feel like there should be some sort of overhaul to the way the dance off vote works.
Bessie Burnet Unfortunately she IS the overhaul. She’s head judged which means if they both have two votes each, then the couple that gets saved is the one that Shirley voted for. I’m actually not sure why she’s the head judge but it is what it is.
They should be like X factor if the vote is split should rely on who got more in the public vote .

For everyone that's disappointed with the result. The choice of who must leave the competition must be based solely on the dance-off performance (not previous performances or scores). Catherine's dance-off performance was objectively weaker than Mike's and therefore it was the correct decision for Shirley to vote off Catherine. Our role as viewers is to vote to prevent our favourites from being in this dance-off position. This isn't a joke, this isn't a shock (if you discount Catherine not getting a higher public vote) and this isn't a fix. I'm sad to see Catherine go but everyone needs to play by the same rules as best as possible. When the talent is this high it just takes one bad week to get knocked out so keep voting for your favourites.

Yeesh people - what it comes down to is the dance off performance, not who was better before or shows most promise... the dance off is what everything HAS to be based on and tonight...
Catherine had the weaker performance - she missed a couple of steps and to me seemed like she didn't keep up with Johannes speed.
Mike, in this case, DID perform better - he had attack and had better footwork so I'm GLAD he was chosen.
This was the same thing the other week with Dev, in the dance off, his performance was weaker, thats why he was eliminated.

I was really upset when Johannas and Catherine were eliminated but I feel that Shirley and craig this week judged the dance off on who made the least mistakes and who improved from their dance before. Do I think they made the right decision? yes. Has mike got any potential ? No. But I understand why they did what they did.

Cha cha just wasn’t Catherine’s dance. The right decision imo. Catherine looked ok but a little shaky. Mike looked a lot more confident but not as natural.

In this instance, I have to agree, it’s judging the dance just danced and Catherine made a few mistakes that she didn’t make the first time and Mike was just more confident. However, the chemistry they produced is wonderful but I do hope this helps Johannes realise that he has to tone down his dancing to not outshine his partners.
I SOOo wish mike had gone and now Catherine and Johannes has gone and they were really good. Grrr to the judges this weeks and the week dianne and dev went to.
Listen everyone I am sad that they left but they did make quite a lot of mistakes and it was a very hard dance so don’t give hate on Shirley.

Even dancing below par this week, Catherine still was the better dancer. Mike Bushell is so devoid of any rhythm , it's like watching a yard broom being shoved about. I think the producers are trying to give Katya a longer run coz of the whole Sean Walsh thing last year. So unfair. Sick of strictly now. I give up.

OMGosh! I'm not even invested in the outcome, (well, maybe I am now!), but, I'd never heard of Catherine, (Katherine?), and Johanness before but, I thought by far they should have been saved!
Also, the "last dance" for them turned into an amazingly beautiful group hug! I was bawling my eyes out!

I’m in shock. Honestly, the decision was ridiculous. Yes, it wasn’t Catherine’s best dance this week but she held more promise and was just overall better. It's the time constraints they give Shirley I'm afraid and the judges also have weekly meetings with the producers too of what they'll do on the live show.

Let's be honest neither of these two were that good this week and it's just such a shame that Katherine ended up in the dance off with a dance she wasn't particular good at. Mike did show some improvement in the dance off, I would have much rather Katherine stayed but I totally get why Craig and Shirley chose to save Mike. The dance off is completely based on what they do in that moment, what they did in prior weeks or potential has nothing to do with it. It's a shame but at the end of the day if more people voted for her she wouldn't have been in the dance off in the first place. I always say if you don't vote you can't complain.

On another note, thank God Halloween week is over... the staging and costumes always take away from the dancing!
