She isn't getting the votes because she's American and the British public apparently can't tolerate them being on Strictly. See Ashley Roberts last year. Gio has a huge fanbase and Michelle has killed it so that is the only reason for this. Michelle had no business being in the dance off. She's better than ANYONE this season. Well, I for one, am glad Michelle has got through, American or not, it was a no brainer really. I am English and if it's true what some on here are saying, that some people don't vote for her because she's American, it says more about them as people really, but you can't fix stupid can you. Michelle is a good dancer full stop, not voting for her won't alter that. All that ends up happening in cases like this is like last year, when the third best dancer won. American, previous bits of dance experience or whatever shouldn't matter. If I were in a dancing competition and I won because people didn't like my opponents, I would feel embarrassed because I'd know the other person was better and deserved to win.

Mike has shown grit and determination amidst all of his struggles, not to mention the criticisms from the public. He instead showed class and humility, that to me is the definition of strength and character. It is only through trials and tribulations that will determine your character. He came to learn how to dance and he has accomplished it. He accepted constructive criticisms from the judges. What a gracious man he is. In Katya's words, he should be proud of himself. I havent ever seen the show can someone tell me how these 2 ended up here for the judges to vote? There were couples in week 8 with a lower score than michelle
Falah Nadeem The way the show works is the judges scores are combined with the public vote, and each couple gets a certain amount of points, depending where they come on the judges leaderboard and the public leaderboard and how many couples are left. So, this week there were 8 couples left, so whoever was at the top of the judges leaderboard received 8 points, second place (who this week was Michelle) 7 points, and whoever is last (mike) receives just one. Then, whoever receives the most votes from the public receives 8 points, second highest receives 7, and the lowest receives 1. The points from each are combined, and whichever two couples have the lowest amount are in the dance off, upon which the judges vote who they wish to save. It’s a bit confusing, but to sum it up Michelle did well on the judges leaderboard but badly on the public’s.
I think the reason why Michelle and Giovanni where in the dance off is because she is American and people are coming less interested in them and not voting for them because most people where voting for Karim and Amy. I just wanted to put it out there for the people who are shocked,your welcome.:)

Falah Nadeem The way the show works is the judges scores are combined with the public vote, and each couple gets a certain amount of points, depending where they come on the judges leaderboard and the public leaderboard and how many couples are left. So, this week there were 8 couples left, so whoever was at the top of the judges leaderboard received 8 points, second place (who this week was Michelle) 7 points, and whoever is last (mike) receives just one. Then, whoever receives the most votes from the public receives 8 points, second highest receives 7, and the lowest receives 1. The points from each are combined, and whichever two couples have the lowest amount are in the dance off, upon which the judges vote who they wish to save. It’s a bit confusing, but to sum it up Michelle did well on the judges leaderboard but badly on the public’s.

Michelle being American , and more or less unknown may not have her receiving alot of votes. It comes down to popularity much like Dancing with the Stars....its understandable. But, Wow...Michelle is a great dancer...good on her!
