Hello Matt! Been loving this series and am planning on visiting this monastery for a little while. Im an orthdodox catachumen so im joining the church in the near future. The exclusivity of the Orthdodox church isn't the fault of the church, its the fault of those who pervert the church with false teachings. We as orthodox cannot claim that other churches have grace or not. All we know is that Orthdoxy has that grace and we pray that God may give his graces to the other churches. Orthdoxy is the safest bet though!

Are you local to the monastery? If you fancy a chat about Orthodoxy, am happy to meet up! I'll be back at the monastery sometime plus plan to stay in a Catholic house sometime this year. First part of my written reflections: medium.com/@mattpointon/not-of-this-world-part-1-0e0a449cf501

@@uncletravellingmatt588 your a very beautiful writer I must say. No I'm not local I'm up in Suffolk. Probably wouldn't be able to meet up I've got a very busy schedule and I'm not sure when I could. How did you make an appointment to visit the monestary? Can anyone just come?

@@OrthodoxPepe You have to ring up but they don't always answer. Keep trying. The hours when they are meant to answer are listed on the website. Try to speak to Fr. Bartholomew or Br. Andrew if you can. Incidentally, my son says you're on TikTok and he watches all your videos. Not sure if that is a good thing or not!

Hi Matt, I came across these videos as I’m interested in visiting the monastery myself. I’m interested to hear about their Jesus Prayer services as they seem to have a different approach to the one I’m familiar with - I know services where a set number of prayers are said with bows (the number depending on which of the hours is being prayed) but I’ve not heard of monastics using a set time period of 2 hours and chanting the prayer repetitively. It sounds lovely! Is there a particular melody they use to chant the prayer?

Hello Matt, it's "Akhmet" lol. It was nice talking to you.
About the Church being exclusive. Just one comment. We don't think that a Mormon let's say is "cut off from God" or grace in that sense. We believe that every person, regardless of where they are born and in which tradition, God works at every moment of their life to realise their salvation.
But this grace that works to save them, directs them towards the Ark of salvation, calls them to the fullness of the truth. The Church is not an institution, but God Himself. So to join the Church and to become united in body soul and mind to Him within His body the Church, is how you are saved.
The Church is not a worldly structure that deserves some grace and other churches some grace. But it is the deposit and source of grace to those in it, and the light that shines to those outside calling them in.
    May God be with you.

I can't say as I only know his Orthodox name. He is a Greek Cypriot guy from North London.
