I just wanna say that when this episode was announced i predicted as a joke that Wiz would say something like “huh? Boomstick I thought you hated ponies” and boomstick would go “yeah but I think they’re cool now! Fluttershy is my favorite ☺️” but I did NOT expect to be completely on point holy shit
It’s amazing that, not only do I think this is the best episode of the show as a whole, a lot of other people have very similar opinions as well. The Death Battle community, one of the most often split and nitpicky fanbases on the internet, collectively decided that this battle is a 11/10, and the only contenders are personal picks that mean a lot to specific people. The only bad thing about the episode is that now every episode after it is going to be directly compared to it. And no matter what, nothing is going to get close at all to Billcord. Because seriously, whatever the finale of the season is, it could not imagine to be half as good as this.
18:55 i saw this online somewhere and found it funny: In the track, Discord said Bills’ bowtie doesn’t suit him. So in that little instance, he takes it off before thinking it looks good and immediately puts it back on. Trust me, that’s what happens, I won’t take no for an answer.
This is one of my favorite episodes ever, everything was perfect. The editing was fun and wacky which is proper for this episode, the action was creative and more than enjoyable, tai lung, both characterizations were on point, and the Soundtrack was just yes. 11/10, can't wait to see Alex vs Cole and see what the team does.

Honestly this is probably my fav episode lol. I adore absolutely everything about it, from the super well written and funny asf analysis to the genuinely perfect fight scene lol, everything works to a majestic degree (except ig the conclusion if you're boring and care about stuff like outcome accuracy JEJDJD) It's insane to me how they managed to make the animation this fun, with so many great and memorable exchanges, while also giving it such impactful moments such as Bill's all-seeing god line or what's probably the best ending to any DB fight scene ever, with both the lighter and heavy sides to it coexisting in it and never taking away from each other. For my favorite villain of all time from one of my favorite shows, and a character from a series I wanna get into (and that honestly DB got me to like, Discord is a real one ong), the fact this episode was made with such clear passion and care just makes me so happy kdjdjd, though on the negative side it means my expectations for any future ballot winner episodes will be comically high by default so it'll be easier to be disappointed LOL.
They absolutely COOKED with this episode, Bill VS Discord became a, bare minimum, Top 10 Favorite of mine with that ending alone. Discord sacrificing himself to save not only his friends but potentially EVERYONE in the MLP universe & leaving a goodbye letter for them was so in character, & Fluttershy calling out his name was so genuinely heartbreaking. Not to mention the Nostalgia factor it has for me seeing Gravity Falls get covered, (loved that show growing up & still do), GOD I love this episode. If the first half of this Season already started out with so many High-Top tier quality episodes, I can only imagine what the second half & Finale will be like; hopefully the rest keep the momentum going Oh Boy & that NEXT TIME; cannot wait for inFAMOUS to get covered, loved that series even more growing up & I can’t wait to see what Prototype has in store

This episode is tied with Saitama vs Popeye as my second favorite episode of the show. It's everything I could've asked for more for this episode. After over a week, it's still amazing
I already said something similar to this under your tweet but over the summer I rewatched Gravity Falls and binged all of My Little Pony for the first time and it made me even more excited for one of my most wanted matchups and boosting both Bill and Discord up there as some of my favorite characters ever. And this episode surpassed any and all expectations I had. Its a love letter to not just both characters and their series but the Death Battle community as a whole. Its a stellar episode and one of my new favorites of all time
I've been waiting eagerly to see your take on this one after the unanimously positive Twitter reception..and yeah I agree with everything you said. This episode did everything right and took all my worries away, no underplayed reality warping like Strange V Fate, and no dumb Dorito jokes, instead opting for the clever visual one, etc. It has set a new bar for the show and I'm more than happy. Also congrats on the cameo!
It's kind of funny that this match got so toxic that debating it got banned from Discord, because one of the characters is named "Discord." It's like poetry, it rhymes.
This episode was so damn good. Saitama vs Popeye is still on top for me, I prefer that ending where Saitama is just so happy that he finally found a challenging fight over Discord's heroic death, but they're still pretty close
3:51 Fun fact. That’s also actually something MLP likes to play around with as well. Easter eggs, details, fun little references, returning characters and even just pony fid versions of fictional character designs in the background They like to play around with that concept a lot. To the point of telling entire character story’s and arcs simply with characters in the background (have fun fuigering out what exactly I mean when I said that, cause I still don’t think even I do)
The voice work in this was top tier, I legit thought the got Alex Hirsh and John Delance to reprise their roles. Honestly if they could have pulled that of it would have skyrocketed this episode from top tier to legendary
I knew it was gonna be good...but I didn't expect to have a new favorite not just of the season but the series as a whole. Absolutely stellar work and everything I wanted from the match-up and more.
I really like how over the last several battles they've been finding creative ways to give respect to the losing combatant. I feel like as badass of an episode this was in all other respects, they really managed to deliver on giving Discord something of a strategic victory, and you covering the bases to point out the blink-and-you'll-miss-it foreshadowing really puts a bow on it. I'm not terribly invested in the MLP franchise, but watching Discord's absence steadily sink in with Fluttershy really sold the ending. The review also did help me appreciate the fact that despite Bill winning the bout, he still got played in a way that both paralleled and contrasted his downfall in the series.

This was such a fun watch and also the first episode I got to watch with another death battle fan, with so many things blindsiding me. (Fireborn is still on top in terms of tracks though.) Love Discord and felt like it was perfectly handled. It made sense that they were even that Bill would win due to intelligence and bloodthirstiness. Listened to it for hours on loop. Seriously in my tops. Track, jokes, writing. This shows the intelligence. It reminds me of why “just fighting shapes” in other episodes isn’t legit as there is writing that exceeds
I don't get how people can be mad about the result. It respected both fighters and it felt like an actual crossover between MLP and Gravity Falls rather than a simulation.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I can’t think of any other animation where the loser royally screws over the winner. Bill got the kill, yes, but Discord got him out of Equestria and saved all his friends. Either way, it’s my favorite ending to any fight animation for that reason.

I personally had a ton of fun watching this episode in particular with the Death Battle Discord, but my favorite part was finding all the hidden stuff after it was over. One of my favorite references was the very first cipher, "A HDU'B VJXU DMZL KYWVRWR LPVXG", which is a vigenere cipher, and with code "Sephiroth", it translates to "I DON'T EVEN LIKE CHICKEN WINGS", which is a reference to our lord and savior, Chicken Wing. It really made me happy seeing DJ hide a reference us at the Smash Bracket team, it made us feel like we at least had a little impact somewhere, and that I (by a technicality), am a part of DB history. Also STRETCH ROYALE REFERENCE BAYBEEEEEE-
This was one of my most wanted MU’s of all time and they absolutely cooked a 5 star meal. The analysis covered both characters great, editing went crazy, I love how Bill and Discord fight in the sidebars before the fight actually starts. The fight is something else, they nailed these characters perfectly and it’s just entertaining as hell. The ending was the perfect way to go with Discord trapping Bill in the chaos realm sacrificing himself to save his friends. This episode was everything I could’ve wanted and more.
I don't think I've ever laughed, almost cried, or been left speechless so much during any other Death Battle episode. Watching this for the first time physically felt so surreal and I still don't think I've fully recovered. It even has me wanting to actually check out MLP after being on the fence about it for so long if only to see Discord, a character I knew almost nothing about and am now immediately attached to. I would definitely consider this episode DB Hall of Fame worthy, I love it SO much!
Honestly there's a good bit I think I could bring up in regards to both the episode and the review itself, but I want to bring special attention to the fact that Saitama VS Popeye stole the gold medal from Snake VS Sam not long ago, only to lose it just a few months later because Billcord became Biff's new favorite, you love to see it.
I know the episode is great when one of my favorite characters lose when they should have won but still the episode is my favorite ever in the show and it's not even close.

From when the first Champions poll was revealed, I had wanted to see Bill vs Discord win for the 2D fight, and I’m glad it did. Not gonna lie, was kinda rooting for Discord cause I knew him a bit more than Bill initially, but in the end, I didn’t care of the verdict. I cared on how they’d incorporate the chaos of it all, and chaos it delivered. From the different changes in genre to the jokes that land for the most part, I’d say my favorite part was the ending. While by Death Battle’s standards, Bill won the fight, Discord got the last laugh, making said win very hollow as Bill has to wait many more years to break out again. It’s one of the few times the disintegration death works as it’s part of Bill’s core abilities. Heck, I think this is one of the few episodes where the fight is essentially one sacrificing themselves to save others, this case being Discord sacrificing himself to trap Bill and save Ponyville. I like how this fight perfectly fits the two and the death itself is different compared to others, with many saying that “Bill won the battle, but Discord won the war”. It’s different and I like it, similarly to how I liked the fact that the death in Magneto vs Tetsuo was a mercy kill (yes Tanjiro vs Jonathan did it first, but Magneto vs Tetsuo did it better). Definitely my favorite episode of the season. Heck, might even be one of my favorite episodes of the series.
I can proudly say I was part of the billcord debate when the mods came in and banned it. I wasn’t one of the toxic ones, at least I don’t think I was, but it was interesting seeing a debate I had partially started get so wildly out of control
Honestly, I am always neutral when it comes to this type of debate between characters, since it is more a matter of feats, such as well-crafted arguments as to why the result took place. Unless I completely know said character to know who would win and why, as would be the case with Versus like Blake vs Mikasa. Said versus, if you ask me, it was a very predictable one for me. As for Bill vs Discord, I'm aware that Bill was given buffs that he doesn't canonically have, and that they nerfed Discord. Although the truth is, I am not that informed, since years have passed since I saw both series after the respective ending of both series. Still, it doesn't take away from how entertaining I found the animation and the end of the battle was for me one of the best endings of all the Death Battle animations, period. I was worried that it was going to be an Apocalypse vs Black Adam 2.0, but it was a relief when it wasn't. Since a tragic one, it had not gone well with both series. And I always enjoy hearing the song, One of my favorites thus far.
godzilla vs gamera has been on a pretty untouchable pedestal for me ever since its release, mostly because of the impact it had on me with getting me into godzilla as a series. no other death battle, even some of my other favourites like dio vs alucard and po vs iron fist, have been able to contend with it for the top spot. this is the only episode that i think has a genuine chance of dethroning it as my favourite.
If im being honest this is one of the only cases where i dont buy the winner but the fight analyisis easter eggs and everything else litteraly did evrything perfect

This episode was so great, I loved it even when the first time I saw him was on my phone accompanying my parents shopping at the store out of my will. Even with that, I'll stop watching it for a couple of months, maybe until the end of the season, but that's because the last thing I want is to be sick of this episode.

After Martian Manhunter vs Silver Surfer kinda let me down, I wanted to go into this episode with a more open mind considering the fact that it was probably going to be extremely gimmicky and it was just as likely for them to make a third Deadpool vs Pinkie Pie or Macho Man vs Kool-Aid Man as it was for them to make a masterpiece. But then I heard Liam was writing this episode and I knew we were in good hands, and then the episode came out and it was better than I could have ever imagined. The analysis is easily my favorite in the entire series. Not only was it really well-written but the editing is the best show has ever seen and it isn't even close. The amount of visual gags and details that are packed into every second of the analysis is genuinely insane from a bunch of random inside jokes like the universe shockwaves and Thor's speed randomly appearing to them sneaking in random Death Battle community members' names in Bill Cipher's info. This analysis is absolutely perfect in every single way and somehow the fight animation is even better. It is easily the most visually stimulating versus animation I have ever seen in my life and there are just as many details packed into every frame as there are in the analysis. The amount of cameos that are in this animation is nuts from Sans vs Judge, Rick vs The Doctor, Fall Guys vs Among Us, Bendy vs Cuphead, Macho Man vs Kool-Aid Man, and even a range rover!? Hmmm... The changes in animation style were absolutely epic and the made fight even more unpredictable and insane. The hand-drawn shots also look like they are taken straight out of My Little Pony and Gravity Falls and it never ceases to amaze me that Moro went from Sonic vs Sans to this. As for the actual content though, it's just as strong as the visuals. This is the first reality warper fight on the show that actually took full advantage of the characters' powers. All of the other reality warper characters they've handled were either portrayed as mostly punching like Alien X and Thanos or they just stood around and didn't do anything terribly cool like Scarlet Witch vs Zatanna or Raven vs Phoenix. This one was actually creative and had them doing a ton of cool and wacky stuff. The fact that they were able to fit all of this in only 3 and a half minutes blows my mind because this episode has even more going on than Goku vs Superman. The track is also one of the greatest of all time and maybe even my favorite of the whole season and the ending is perfect. The conclusion was also explained really well to me and I couldn't care less if the community thinks its "wrong" or not. Bill Cipher vs Discord felt less like an episode of Death Battle and more like an actual event from the cipher wheel teasing all of the matchups for the season, the amount of times both were teased in previous episodes, and the episode itself being quite possibly the magnum opus of Death Battle. We haven't gotten an episode with this much hype since Goku vs Superman back in season 1 and despite this episode not being a finale, it felt about as finale-worthy as that episode and even more worthy than most of the actual finales. It hasn't even been two years since Saitama vs Popeye and it has already been topped because this is my new favorite Death Battle episode of all time. I'm not sure whether it's my favorite versus episode of all time or not since I've known the Sanic vs Weegee quadrilogy for 7 and a half years and it is peak nostalgia, but I can safely say that this is the best episode I've ever seen from any versus show in my entire life. If I could score something more than a 10/10 then I definitely would for this episode because it's an amazing tribute for a community that arguably doesn't really deserve it considering how obnoxious their response to the other champion ballot episode was. Also your top 10 best Death Battles list at the end is uncannily similar to mine, I wonder if we're the same person 🤔

This is my favorite episode in this season alongside Stitch vs. Rocket. The characters are done well I really like Discord Analysis and the fight is the most creative I've ever seen. The ending of the fight is bittersweet Bill may have won the Battle, but Discord won the war.

I just love the specific way Discord says "Oh, Bill!" and proceeds to laugh in the perfect pitch. And Bills expressions and freakout are just too flawless.
Man not only is my most anticipated matchup of the season up next (I have been waiting for colex FOR SO LONG) but also Bill vs Discord ended up being as great as I hoped it would AND BILL WON (In a match where I’m largely indifferent on the outcome…ok most of them are, but still)! IM ABSOLUTELY WINNING THIS YEAR!!!!!! (Oh and the Sonic Frontiers DLC comes out the same week as Colex. Which is also nice, I’m very looking forward to next week.)

This death battle was really fucking good, it's just a shame that the Post Analysis was so underwhelming. The song, voice actors, animation, edits were all 10/10. Even the animation narrative was a 10, I hate how I can't enjoy this episode to the fullest though.
I had no clue people were arguing about it. From my perspective, given how I have very little info on both Bill and Discord, it seems really even, only getting down to weaknesses and ways to kill/be killed... Always hate seeing people arguing about stuff like outcomes so much. Even when I don't agree with it (Ben VS Hal kinda being my main one) I can still find thing to like about it, like animation, fight choreography, and music
I could go on a long essay on why this episode is a damn near perfect episode, but you know why. Easily an episode that deserves a 10/10 rating, and a top 5 in the series

this was my favorite. it was best described by another reviewer, as "a eldritch abomination vs a old school trickster god" which i agree with discord is much less hostile and is one of my favorites in mlp, im sad he lost the death battle but happy he won the war and freed his friends.

Hey i know that this video was like over a month ago but from what theyve been showing, each symbol doesn't represent the matchup but the way that each episode is structured especially the fight. Thats why he have the wave symbol represent stitch vs Rocket and the star symbol being for Martainman hunter vs Silver Surfer. I am currently caught up on what each symbol is for so far.
This episode is the death battle equivalent of across the spider verse for me. Jaw dropping animation with a solid and good story behind it with sadly not great sound design across the entirety of it

First, I thought Skyrim vs Dark Souls was gonna be the highlight of the season, then Stitch vs Rocket happened. So I was pretty convinced the funni fuzzball episode was one be the best DB of season 10, then Guts vs Fire Emblem spawned. Okay, no big deal, NOW I know we have reached peak fictio-- Oh, would you look at that, Bill Cipher vs Discord. What's next? Death Battle finally giving us another TF2 or One Piece matchup AND making that dethrone Bill-cord?
Although I prefer guts vs dimitri purely from a character perspective, the analysis, fight, and track are all peak in this battle. It's absolutely a masterpiece of the show and a love letter to the fans

I already said something similar to this under your tweet but over the summer I rewatched Gravity Falls and binged all of My Little Pony for the first time and it made me even more excited for one of my most wanted matchups and boosting both Bill and Discord up there as some of my favorite characters ever. And this episode surpassed any and all expectations I had. Its a love letter to not just both characters and their series but the Death Battle community as a whole. Its a stellar episode and one of my new favorites of all time
I've been waiting eagerly to see your take on this one after the unanimously positive Twitter reception..and yeah I agree with everything you said. This episode did everything right and took all my worries away, no underplayed reality warping like Strange V Fate, and no dumb Dorito jokes, instead opting for the clever visual one, etc.

It's kind of funny that this match got so toxic that debating it got banned from Discord, because one of the characters is named "Discord." It's like poetry, it rhymes.
This is an episode with so much quality that despite having controversial results, still has a really good like to dislike ratio.
This episode was so damn good. Saitama vs Popeye is still on top for me, I prefer that ending where Saitama is just so happy that he finally found a challenging fight over Discord's heroic death, but they're still pretty close

They like to play around with that concept a lot. To the point of telling entire character story’s and arcs simply with characters in the background (have fun fuigering out what exactly I mean when I said that, cause I still don’t think even I do)
I dont care if discord lost, the episode is legit the best result we got and it captures both shows hearts perfectly.
The voice work in this was top tier, I legit thought the got Alex Hirsh and John Delance to reprise their roles. Honestly if they could have pulled that of it would have skyrocketed this episode from top tier to legendary
I knew it was gonna be good...but I didn't expect to have a new favorite not just of the season but the series as a whole. Absolutely stellar work and everything I wanted from the match-up and more.
I really like how over the last several battles they've been finding creative ways to give respect to the losing combatant. I feel like as badass of an episode this was in all other respects, they really managed to deliver on giving Discord something of a strategic victory, and you covering the bases to point out the blink-and-you'll-miss-it foreshadowing really puts a bow on it. I'm not terribly invested in the MLP franchise, but watching Discord's absence steadily sink in with Fluttershy really sold the ending. The review also did help me appreciate the fact that despite Bill winning the bout, he still got played in a way that both paralleled and contrasted his downfall in the series.

This was such a fun watch and also the first episode I got to watch with another death battle fan, with so many things blindsiding me. (Fireborn is still on top in terms of tracks though.) I don't get how people can be mad about the result. It respected both fighters and it felt like an actual crossover between MLP and Gravity Falls rather than a simulation.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I can’t think of any other animation where the loser royally screws over the winner. Bill got the kill, yes, but Discord got him out of Equestria and saved all his friends. Either way, it’s my favorite ending to any fight animation for that reason.

I personally had a ton of fun watching this episode in particular with the Death Battle Discord, but my favorite part was finding all the hidden stuff after it was over.
One of my favorite references was the very first cipher, "A HDU'B VJXU DMZL KYWVRWR LPVXG", which is a vigenere cipher, and with code "Sephiroth", it translates to "I DON'T EVEN LIKE CHICKEN WINGS", which is a reference to our lord and savior, Chicken Wing. It really made me happy seeing DJ hide a reference us at the Smash Bracket team, it made us feel like we at least had a little impact somewhere, and that I (by a technicality), am a part of DB history.

This was one of my most wanted MU’s of all time and they absolutely cooked a 5 star meal. The analysis covered both characters great, editing went crazy, I love how Bill and Discord fight in the sidebars before the fight actually starts. The fight is something else, they nailed these characters perfectly and it’s just entertaining as hell. The ending was the perfect way to go with Discord trapping Bill in the chaos realm sacrificing himself to save his friends. This episode was everything I could’ve wanted and more.
Am I the only one who noticed that bill cipher vs discord is the only death battle episode to have every animation style in one episode?

I don't think I've ever laughed, almost cried, or been left speechless so much during any other Death Battle episode. Watching this for the first time physically felt so surreal and I still don't think I've fully recovered. It even has me wanting to actually check out MLP after being on the fence about it for so long if only to see Discord, a character I knew almost nothing about and am now immediately attached to. I would definitely consider this episode DB Hall of Fame worthy, I love it SO much!
Honestly there's a good bit I think I could bring up in regards to both the episode and the review itself, but I want to bring special attention to the fact that Saitama VS Popeye stole the gold medal from Snake VS Sam not long ago, only to lose it just a few months later because Billcord became Biff's new favorite, you love to see it.
I know the episode is great when one of my favorite characters lose when they should have won but still the episode is my favorite ever in the show and it's not even close.

From when the first Champions poll was revealed, I had wanted to see Bill vs Discord win for the 2D fight, and I’m glad it did.
Not gonna lie, was kinda rooting for Discord cause I knew him a bit more than Bill initially, but in the end, I didn’t care of the verdict. I cared on how they’d incorporate the chaos of it all, and chaos it delivered.
From the different changes in genre to the jokes that land for the most part, I’d say my favorite part was the ending. While by Death Battle’s standards, Bill won the fight, Discord got the last laugh, making said win very hollow as Bill has to wait many more years to break out again.
It’s one of the few times the disintegration death works as it’s part of Bill’s core abilities. Heck, I think this is one of the few episodes where the fight is essentially one sacrificing themselves to save others, this case being Discord sacrificing himself to trap Bill and save Ponyville.
I like how this fight perfectly fits the two and the death itself is different compared to others, with many saying that “Bill won the battle, but Discord won the war”. It’s different and I like it, similarly to how I liked the fact that the death in Magneto vs Tetsuo was a mercy kill (yes Tanjiro vs Jonathan did it first, but Magneto vs Tetsuo did it better).
Definitely my favorite episode of the season. Heck, might even be one of my favorite episodes of the series.
I can proudly say I was part of the billcord debate when the mods came in and banned it. I wasn’t one of the toxic ones, at least I don’t think I was, but it was interesting seeing a debate I had partially started get so wildly out of control

Honestly, I am always neutral when it comes to this type of debate between characters, since it is more a matter of feats, such as well-crafted arguments as to why the result took place. Unless I completely know said character to know who would win and why, as would be the case with Versus like Blake vs Mikasa. Said versus, if you ask me, it was a very predictable one for me.
As for Bill vs Discord, I'm aware that Bill was given buffs that he doesn't canonically have, and that they nerfed Discord. Although the truth is, I am not that informed, since years have passed since I saw both series after the respective ending of both series. Still, it doesn't take away from how entertaining I found the animation and the end of the battle was for me one of the best endings of all the Death Battle animations, period. I was worried that it was going to be an Apocalypse vs Black Adam 2.0, but it was a relief when it wasn't. Since a tragic one, it had not gone well with both series. And I always enjoy hearing the song, One of my favorites thus far.
godzilla vs gamera has been on a pretty untouchable pedestal for me ever since its release, mostly because of the impact it had on me with getting me into godzilla as a series.
no other death battle, even some of my other favourites like dio vs alucard and po vs iron fist, have been able to contend with it for the top spot.
this is the only episode that i think has a genuine chance of dethroning it as my favourite.
If im being honest this is one of the only cases where i dont buy the winner but the fight analyisis easter eggs and everything else litteraly did evrything perfect

This episode was so great, I loved it even when the first time I saw him was on my phone accompanying my parents shopping at the store out of my will.
Even with that, I'll stop watching it for a couple of months, maybe until the end of the season, but that's because the last thing I want is to be sick of this episode.

After Martian Manhunter vs Silver Surfer kinda let me down, I wanted to go into this episode with a more open mind considering the fact that it was probably going to be extremely gimmicky and it was just as likely for them to make a third Deadpool vs Pinkie Pie or Macho Man vs Kool-Aid Man as it was for them to make a masterpiece. But then I heard Liam was writing this episode and I knew we were in good hands, and then the episode came out and it was better than I could have ever imagined. The analysis is easily my favorite in the entire series. Not only was it really well-written but the editing is the best show has ever seen and it isn't even close. The amount of visual gags and details that are packed into every second of the analysis is genuinely insane from a bunch of random inside jokes like the universe shockwaves and Thor's speed randomly appearing to them sneaking in random Death Battle community members' names in Bill Cipher's info. This analysis is absolutely perfect in every single way and somehow the fight animation is even better. It is easily the most visually stimulating versus animation I have ever seen in my life and there are just as many details packed into every frame as there are in the analysis. The amount of cameos that are in this animation is nuts from Sans vs Judge, Rick vs The Doctor, Fall Guys vs Among Us, Bendy vs Cuphead, Macho Man vs Kool-Aid Man, and even a range rover!? Hmmm... The changes in animation style were absolutely epic and the made fight even more unpredictable and insane. The hand-drawn shots also look like they are taken straight out of My Little Pony and Gravity Falls and it never ceases to amaze me that Moro went from Sonic vs Sans to this. As for the actual content though, it's just as strong as the visuals. This is the first reality warper fight on the show that actually took full advantage of the characters' powers. All of the other reality warper characters they've handled were either portrayed as mostly punching like Alien X and Thanos or they just stood around and didn't do anything terribly cool like Scarlet Witch vs Zatanna or Raven vs Phoenix. This one was actually creative and had them doing a ton of cool and wacky stuff. The fact that they were able to fit all of this in only 3 and a half minutes blows my mind because this episode has even more going on than Goku vs Superman. The track is also one of the greatest of all time and maybe even my favorite of the whole season and the ending is perfect. The conclusion was also explained really well to me and I couldn't care less if the community thinks its "wrong" or not. Bill Cipher vs Discord felt less like an episode of Death Battle and more like an actual event from the cipher wheel teasing all of the matchups for the season, the amount of times both were teased in previous episodes, and the episode itself being quite possibly the magnum opus of Death Battle. We haven't gotten an episode with this much hype since Goku vs Superman back in season 1 and despite this episode not being a finale, it felt about as finale-worthy as that episode and even more worthy than most of the actual finales. It hasn't even been two years since Saitama vs Popeye and it has already been topped because this is my new favorite Death Battle episode of all time. I'm not sure whether it's my favorite versus episode of all time or not since I've known the Sanic vs Weegee quadrilogy for 7 and a half years and it is peak nostalgia, but I can safely say that this is the best episode I've ever seen from any versus show in my entire life. If I could score something more than a 10/10 then I definitely would for this episode because it's an amazing tribute for a community that arguably doesn't really deserve it considering how obnoxious their response to the other champion ballot episode was. Also your top 10 best Death Battles list at the end is uncannily similar to mine, I wonder if we're the same person 🤔

This is my favorite episode in this season alongside Stitch vs. Rocket. The characters are done well I really like Discord Analysis and the fight is the most creative I've ever seen. The ending of the fight is bittersweet Bill may have won the Battle, but Discord won the war.

This death battle was really fucking good, it's just a shame that the Post Analysis was so underwhelming. The song, voice actors, animation, edits were all 10/10.
Even the animation narrative was a 10, I hate how I can't enjoy this episode to the fullest though.

I've been anticipating this since the episode came out!
I had no clue people were arguing about it. From my perspective, given how I have very little info on both Bill and Discord, it seems really even, only getting down to weaknesses and ways to kill/be killed... Always hate seeing people arguing about stuff like outcomes so much. Even when I don't agree with it (Ben VS Hal kinda being my main one) I can still find thing to like about it, like animation, fight choreography, and music
This is beyond deathbattle's capabilities and they managed to pull it off, mad respect to them.

Hey i know that this video was like over a month ago but from what theyve been showing, each symbol doesn't represent the matchup but the way that each episode is structured especially the fight. Thats why he have the wave symbol represent stitch vs Rocket and the star symbol being for Martainman hunter vs Silver Surfer. I am currently caught up on what each symbol is for so far.
This episode is the death battle equivalent of across the spider verse for me. Jaw dropping animation with a solid and good story behind it with sadly not great sound design across the entirety of it

First, I thought Skyrim vs Dark Souls was gonna be the highlight of the season, then Stitch vs Rocket happened. So I was pretty convinced the funni fuzzball episode was one be the best DB of season 10, then Guts vs Fire Emblem spawned. Okay, no big deal, NOW I know we have reached peak fictio-- Oh, would you look at that, Bill Cipher vs Discord. What's next? Death Battle finally giving us another TF2 or One Piece matchup AND making that dethrone Bill-cord?
Although I prefer guts vs dimitri purely from a character perspective, the analysis, fight, and track are all peak in this battle. It's absolutely a masterpiece of the show and a love letter to the fans
