I was wondering why I haven't seen these around. I believe the t1's are due to retire in 2025-2031 if we go by the 30 years he stated. I don't get it though everyone knows the older trains and bus are solid built.
They are only built with a design life of 30 years but many run up until almost 40 years. After they reach the end of their design/useful life, they will start breaking down more frequently and be more costly to repair. Regardless of how solidly they’re built, they also don’t comply with AODA. Since the TTC is a public entity they are required to comply.
I really wish i liked TTC back then because then I would have remembered the H6 I was probably on one once but back then I didn't care what kind of TTC Train it was but now I do but at least I still get to ride on the T1's.
These subway cars used to have nice comfortable seating until they "upgraded" to those terrible rock hard red seats in use today... terrible, my back hurts every time
WTF? So they make it a headline on retiring the Hawker Siddeley's but not the GM New Looks? That is fucked up man. Not that I hate the HS'... but the GM New Looks were by far more popular.
This is taxpayer assets working Canadian built Subway cars going to the Scrap yard instead of being sold to some other city around the world still good for another 50 years solid built
Wow old memories! I remember if if you passed a certain point in the tunnel all of the lights would turn off and it would get super quiet.
that was the Gloucester red rocket
LIRR's M3s still do that (not the Metro-North cars). They are the last such MUs with that quirk since the R33 WF/R36 retired from the Flushing Line.
H6 had the best air conditioning.
No The H5 Did
HabsCanada1 TR does
DP Wonderzzz The TR has air conditioning and heat on at the same time sometimes. Can’t stand those things. Laggy.
they deserve a place at a museum (Halton County Radial Railway)
If you're familiar, the orange doors are the same as what NYCT had on R16-R42 SMEE equipment starting in 1978 through the late 80s.
I remember also seeing photo online of septa bsl in the 70s of older train that also has orange door
True that's right
Part of my childhood is gone. Use to ride these a lot as a kid :(
There all gooonnneeee? 😰😰😰😰😰
they’re still on line 1 lol
Even if not sure when was the last time I rode this train, maybe 2005, 2010 I still wish they kept them until 2016
I Was 8 Years Old When The H6 Train Got Final Ride I'm 11 Now
Nice
Now you are 18 🤔
R32's from the New York City subway are still running and they were built in 1964-65.
Blue387 Well THATS cuz of the new trains delayed
True fact. In fact, the MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority) is part of the New York City Transit in the United States and not in Canada.

the door chimes had a mix sound
This train had THEE best sounding door chime
NewEra22 line three has the same one
Not anymore.
Door Chime ? How about the conductor with a whistle like in the Rockets.
I think the ttc should make those wooden train toys like mta is doing!
Transportation Land or a metal model train.
Yea
I love the h6 train and the T1
Who remembers that the G1s and M1s were smaller than now
I love subway trains and buses better than anything

If Its Worth Nothing I Would Buy It
Dear All TTC H6 Your my favourite trains ever and I really miss you Fairwell H6
Ive been on the H6 when I was only 12 before it got sent to Turkey.
No, It wasn’t sent to Turkey, UTDC built it and Bombardier customized it
TTC and Ankara Metro had its own
When is the T1 Going To Ritried
I really wish i liked TTC back then because then I would have remembered the H6 I was probably on one once but back then I didn't care what kind of TTC Train it was but now I do but at least I still get to ride on the T1's.
The T1 can't compare to the H6s and H5s
I love TTC H6 Too

apparently H6
TTC should sell them to like india and earn money and make all the subwat station like the new line 1 extension station
the t1 is old i dont know why is not retireing
Elias Addo Not as old as these trains, the t1 will retire in 2020
oh im gonna miss those trains
@@jasondelaca5318 what a shame to retire a 1995 train that early.meanwhile r32s(nyc) ran for 55 years and the mr 63 ran for 52 years(montreal).
@@Painslept i guess I was wrong lol T1s are still here
@@jasondelaca5318 it’s probably gonna retire like 5 or 10 years
I really did not like the H6 but i miss them i dunno when the TTC T2 comes out And they should have retired in 2019 instead
I'm just like him I'm 9
