    Great Video, I learned a lot. I'm studying Interior Design Diploma but at the same time trying to understand how the practical real life project undertaking works. Everything seems easy in class or on paper but venturing into the outside world really teaches one the tips, tricks, trade secrets and a lot more. Please do not stop posting these videos. Not everyone shows their process in detail on RUclips.

    Great Video Karin.
    You mentioned at the end of the video that you have to be a business person to run your own design business. But as designers, of course we love to design and create. So how can a designer transition into having their own design business so they can work for themselves?

    Backround: Im from South Africa currently doing my masters in Architecture...I find it interesting how diff youll idea of design is to ours also the difference in terminology. We do snag lists after a building has been built as the list of mistakes a contractor has made and has to be redone or work which is not done to our satisfaction and has to be redone. Also you need to find a new structural engineer if he could not figure out how to replace a load bearing wall with a column and beam system since its common sense.

    Thinking of the resell value, an extra bedroom adds more value than a walk-in closet. I would turn it into 3 bedroom and use the 3rd bedroom as a walk-in closet. You can always take down the cabinets and turn it back into bedroom or if the new owners like walk-in closet, then they can keep using it. This would be win-win, 3 bedrooms, but still you get your walk-in, no compromises needed.

    • @KarinBohn
      @KarinBohn  6 лет назад

      I totally agree! 3 bedrooms would be the way to go for optimal resale value. In the end we decided to go with a walk-in closet because we need the storage and I'm excited to finally have a real walk-in closet. Thanks so much for watching and I'm excited to see you around here for more! xK

    You know , I just heard that I do like this and i do like that ....so as an architect my self I can tell you it doesn't matter if you like it or not , you only got 50/100 to make your own style or play with your space in the project. , then 50/100 accordingly to the client requirements the result well be a design match's client requirements with designer touch and Sense .
