Hi Isvari. Glad u try this recipe. At first memang keras a bit. Let it rest for few days. If you like poke the cake with satay stick and pour like 1 or 2 tbsp rum or brandy. Then you can get a soft top. Top and bottom as well.

After Christmas I fed the cake with brandy on alternate days till new year and the cake turned out to be awesome. Husband and daughter too enjoyed a lot.

Hi Caroline. The juice and sweetness frm the dry mixed fruits will add more flavour. But if you prefer less sweet you can do the process of course. Just dont cook the fruits too long.
Hi angel. As you can see if you check out my other cakes videos i have not used baking soda. I personally dont like the taste as it will give a funny taste or feel at ur throat after eating the cake. Thats my personal view. But many are using it. It should be good i think. But i try not to use it. You can if you like
Hi sis. I havent done with yogurt. Anyway if you want to try with yogurt, take 1/2 cup full yogurt. Beat first using a fork or whisk. Make sure you buy supermarket yogurt. I like to recommend farm fresh or nestle yogurt. The quality makes a difference. Add half cup first, if you find the cake batter similar to mine in the video then it should be enough. If not you add further 1 to 2 tbsp until you get the similar texture.

Hi isvari. Boiling fruits to make fruit cake is a short cut way of making fruit cake. Once boiled no need to store. The other method is soaking the fruits. Only if you soak u can keep few days or at least one day. Boiled fruits can make cake straight away

Hi Cikgu. You can take 1/2 cup yogurt or buttermilk. Make sure good quality yogurt. I like farm fresh or nestle greek yogurt. Mix the yogurt first with a whisk or fork then add to the cake. Room temperature
Hi sis. Like i mention in the video the fruits and the other 3 main ing ( flour butter sugar) can be roughly same. Means 1kg fruits, u can take 300g EACH of flour butter n sugar plus 5 eggs. Use a bigger cake tin.

@@sivahomecook thank you for your reply 😃 I have tried making vegetarian fruit cake few times using similar recipe as yours, except the amount of flour is 4 cups ( 2 cups all purpose flour and 2 cups sugee flour) and 2 cups milk as egg substitute. Unfortunately, each time I bake, it kept breaking. I think I finally know why it breaks, it's suppose to be 2 cups flour only. Thank you for teaching us on how to make a lovely fruit cake !
@@believep1909 yeah as you can see i hv mentioned the ratio of fruits and the other 3 main ingredients. It doesnt matter if you're making a bigger or even a smaller cake as long as we follow the ratio of the main 3 ing and the mix fruit . As you can see my cake had cracks too at the top. But thats ok i guess.. and sometimes sugee cakes will have cracks. My other veg sugee cakes will have cracks on top too after i bake it.

3. Usually soaked fruits can be added straight to cake. It should be soft already.
