I tried out several and ended up with yours, partly because it was the closest to DS2 from ASE (which I loved) and partly because it had just the right mix of features and ease of use. I like how Syntac pretends aggressive dinos are just gonna let him walk by. Just casually goes about his business, as if they'll forget about him. Then cue the, "Omg, how did I lose everything?"
To be somewhat fair, somewhere on episode 1-3 it looked like creatures were ignoring him while he was driving the raft. That could have led to incorrectly thinking that was a normal thing. 😕
You can 'encase' the raft in Stone foundations with low walls.... stops all that nonsense. My raft looks like a boat with a bed, Smith, and boxes in the middle and so far nothing has damaged it.
Another banger of an episode, always enjoy hearing a little bit of frustration and the odd "fuck" out of you. Just shows that you are just like the rest of us 😂😂
I’m really loving this series!!! I briefly played on this map on ASE but mostly stayed near the penguin pond and on this nice plateau near the snow biome. Also had a metal and obsidian outpost next to skull island which is great if you use a magmasaur. I also was too scared to go to the underworld ocean lmao so thanks for doing it for me Syntac! Whenever you get there that is 😅
LOL so funny. Use some spike walls, elavate your bed on your raft. Have a small tower you can climb up on. You are the bait. Kapros suck yeah, but have a pike or sword on you. They are usually easy to kill once it grabs you.
This video is the EXACT reason I always had a raft mod on in ASE. The base game raft is very glitchy. The modded one I used didn't seem to get stuck very often.
@syntac you need to build a stone foundation and walls around your bed and a storage box. Or put foundation down around your boat and put railings up. Two high will keep sarcos and snakes off but not frogs tho.
I love seeing the sarco respect, but diplocaulus are good too! They are insanely fast in ASA, and they let you explore without scuba. I think they pair well with the sarco because most other aquatic mounts aren’t fast enough to be good bodyguards for them
You might’ve been thinking of “Nepenthes” when you said you thought there was another more complicated name for pitcher plants! You were right, pitcher plant is just the common name
With all the water creature mods you guys have, you should really consider installing The Sunken World Additions. It adds quite a few new water creatures with much more on the way!
I assume you'd know this but whenever you disengage from the raft you can be targeted by aggressive dinos. As long as you stay engaged and piloting the raft they ignore you. However once you are targeted engaging with the raft again doesn't help. Been like that since Evolved.
Sarcos are pretty good. I like them more than Basilos actually. They are fast as hell, can throw and take a punch and can pivot turn on whatever is trying to bite its ass. Wonderful. There two things to watch: Jellyfish and Alpha Tusos. The rest is meat.😊
Now run around and eat EVERYTHING, get all the hide and meat (to spoil for narco) and level up yourself and the pet. I like the green and black colors on the Sarco the only name i can think of is Rollo.
You should download the klinger boat mode it adds this raft called the catamaran and it’s very good for the center early game and leedscytch can’t destroy it
I have the catamaran mod, it can take a lot more damage and can reverse. It's better than the raft, not sure how good it would be in the swamp though it's a lot bigger.
is there any reason why you didnt build a little base on your raft to keep you safe + store your stuff? 3x3 stone foundations with the spot where the rudder is no foundation and just cover the back with a wall door, then 1x3 1 wall high stone hut with your beds crafting and storage that covers the bit where you access the raft. Extend the rest of the flat space out a bit using stone ceilings, add 1 stone dino gate then surround the rest of the edge with stone gates. That way you are 100% safe to raft into the swamp, dinos cant do anything to you + when you find something you want to tame you can shoot it through the doorframe walls while you are safe inside, then when its tamed bring it inside the gate. + if you want to keep it safe while its taming you can just move the raft over the body, although your probally better off just surrounding it in spike walls + a foundation with a door so you are free to tame other stuff at the same time. I get that gathering resources for all that on those low gather rates without the right dinos for resource gathering will be slow, but is it any faster to just keep suiciding into situations unprepared? + you could always just tame a therri and a deo...whatever its call, the ball one with the mace tail that is king at gathering stone, therri is really good at gathering wood + is a good combat dino then you are set for building as much stone stuff as you like, even without an argy to carry it, that is just more efficent but not a requirement.
I don't think everything is out to get you,. You're just putting yourself out to get got lol It is, of course, more entertaining than doing safe, standard stuff.
