  • Lets hope that Brood Brothers do legitimately benefit from the new Guard changes, because its still being debated due to how the Keywords interact! Looks good to me though!

    This presenter is great to present genestealers, you go, drag.
    Genestealers are captivating, especially their ... Nature.
    That's not cynicism, or a variation of negativity.

    Unfortunately I repainted my brood brothers into a new guard army already, but I am excited to run 3 x 10 infantry and 25 conscripts in a 1k game now. Haven't been playing my GSC (or Drukhari) much, faction morale pretty low and I've been enjoying but not winning with my orks.

    According to auspex tactics, the game is after these changes way more balanced and evened out. BUT, this might not apply to GSC. We, again, got the short end of the stick. Despite the fact, that GSC players more often than not know what they do with their armies (what might not apply to all the beginner armies players), GSC has a pretty subpar winning rate (below 45% on average). This sucks.

    • @ZaraKane
      @ZaraKane  2 года назад

      GSC tends to get forgotten about in general, if the game is "balanced" then its usually just with the normal factions in mind!

  • @TheVelvetSnatch

    This is exactly how I feel about 40k at the minute. If I play GSC against anyone I lose, if I play Drukhari against anyone I win or draw, if I play Slaanesh against someone that doesn't expect Slaanesh then I win, if I play against someone expecting Slaanesh then I lose badly. I think Guard are the worst faction in 40k atm and this has the knock on effect of making them worthless as Brood Brothers for GSC, even with the new balance sheet (and 6s being auto-wound) I still tabled them on turn 2 with Drukhari. Roll on 10th edition and hopefully the removal of actions/terrain rules/mortal wounds and lessening of army specific rules to balance things out more.

    Am I just late to this video? Looking at the balance slate it says every unit in your army has to have the AM keyword AND they all have to have the same regiment.

    • @ZaraKane
      @ZaraKane  2 года назад +1

      They changed it sadly. The last dataslate before permitted it!

    Unfortunately the rule hammer of the emepror of astra militarum applay only if all your army is astra militarum. So we don't get this buff.
    But we still can use cheap infantry squads with lascannons and so on.
    :)

    • @I.Jones.Bundesladenminister
      @I.Jones.Bundesladenminister 2 года назад +3

      No, it's every REGIMENT keyword unit that needs to be of the same regiment - GSC units don't have that keyword, only the Brood Brothers units do, and since you can only choose units with the REGIMENT keyword anyway, you automatically get Hammer of the Emperor for Brood Brothers:)

    Will test these new rules is a small 500 point game pretty soon. I'm gonna field a 20 man Brood Brother squad with 2 mortar teams, 4 flamers, and sergeant with power sword; all for 120 points. Along with a Rusted Claw patrol detachment built around the Crossfire rules. Most likely with 3 neophyte squads with 1 seismic cannon each, Iconward with Oppressors Bane, and Kelermorph with Wyrmtooth Rounds; all for 380 points.

    Your comments on how boring 9th Edition has been because focusing on obsec instead of being super killy like 8th Edition was is exactly what I, the local Ork player, and every Khorne, Knight, and super killy player has been saying since 9th Ed started. Nobody wants to sit on an objective doing nothing while the space marines and other shooty armies get to do the really cool stuff like actually kill things.
    That being said, I had no honest idea Brood Brothers were in such a tight bind before; I had been collecting them anyway and building them as part of my plans for my my Myriad Cult Cobra Parody. Hehe. Planning to use stuff with lots of shots, for the moment, but keeping my options open. Hoping to get back to acolytes/metamorphs soon and I hope the CP Boxes drop because they just look -amazing-.

    Great breakdown. I just got a GSC army ready to put together and paint after playing Necron for years. The Cult attracted me because of the great creepy lore and they’re tricks on the table. I feel the same about the overpowered armies and the dickheads that abuse them but I’ll let them spit the dummy and buy and sell depending on the meta. I’m sticking to Cron’s n GSC fuck it
