The fact that they disrespected their Legacy like this. It still sits with me, and I don't think of that will ever go away. This is how they treated the games that made them who they are. They were the games of a generation. Well, at least they're trying to show some respect. The PlayStation 2 versions are superior. Still
Rockstar is now run by non gamers/ppl who don’t understand at all what this trilogy means to gamers. So in their eyes they are just as surprised as us as to why we’re complaining about their poor attempt for a cash grab
The fact of the matter is-the 3D games have sold so well and garnered so much attention when they released that, Grand Theft Auto San Andreas IS definitively (but not by far, Gran Turismo 3 is on its heels) the best selling PlayStation 2 title.
Back then when games were made with passion and effort, now they are made as quickly as possible to make as much money as they can, hence why we now rarely get new original games and get constant remakes of older games.
@CháleloTheAtheist 1000% man. They made art with what tools they had at the time. Now they abuse the simplicity afforded to them by the advanced technology. Really, a lot of creative stuff has stagnated late 2000s and onward
why does this ALWAYS happen? why do we need to ALWAYS wait YEARS for a working product? there's kids these days that played one version as a kid, then a "fixed" version when they're 20 years old!!
yeah we need to stop being hypocrites, we need to stop forgiving companies for what they did just because they fixed it, like yeah, cyberpunk has still not delivered what they promised but still people celebrated the release of a police system like it was the biggest treasure in the world, a system that has been done by many games for around 15 years, we need to stop or companies will keep underdeveloping games with false promises
Hmm. I disagree. I would MUCH rather them fix a game than leave it a broken mess. Anyone who spent money on this and didn’t get a refund can only benefit from the devs fixing their game and I personally would like to encourage them to eventually fix stuff by giving them money when it’s finally fixed than tell them “don’t even bother” What I WON’T be doing is trusting them with my money on release day. If they have any history of this then I’m waiting for reviews before I buy.
this really makes you understand how much goes into making the game for the sake of immersion, build piece by piece to set the... um ambiance? the theme, the vibe i guess. and yeah, some of the features added a little more to an actual remaster, but not really. good coverage on the topic and i hope they continue to improve.
Makes sense. I guess they wanted to at least have a nice game before making a deal with Netflix. I have to say that I don't like most Netflix series but they have quite the catalogue of games.
I hate the current trend of "Fix it later" and it just becoming good now. It just gives devs permission to launch a lackluster product at full price with the promise that it'll be good 6 months to a year+ from now.
I hate it too, everyone wants to act like their No Man's Sky, but forget that builds a bad reputation and can lead to people waiting years to even get their products.
MGS Master Collection was also patched on console yesterday, brining much-needed resolution options. You're not limited to 720p, anymore. Different game, but another case where flawed remasters of beloved classics got fixed, over a year after release. There's hope!

I dropped the definitive edition immediately because I couldn't deal with the auto aiming system where it had that weird white aura around the npc's you were locked on to, and it was very difficult to lock on to the characters you actually want to lock on to.
I'd still rather spend $750 on a Retrotink 4K to make old games look good like they did on CRT TVs/monitors than spend money on this trilogy, even if they fixed it.
I'm happy for you. I don't plan on playing this version as I enjoy mods. But it really makes me happy to see you get a version of this game you deserve ❤
They don't fix this. You could do so much but never fix it. Why? Because it *is a mobile port that fucked the game long ago and has been ported to console*
This video costed me $23.99 to watch. Thank you Mr Ordinary Gamer. Being that I'm playing on console I'm a little upset I won't get Michael Jackson's Billie Jean for Vice City.
Still issues on the Switch OLED. I know I know "because it's the Switch" but these are bugs I hope they address. Still a white line that appears at the bottom of the screen in all games, and most noticeable is a blurry puddle that follows just behind and under your car in all of them. Most noticeable in SA and Vice, just grab any vehicle and drive on grass in daylight to see how bad it is, even with motorcycles and bikes. Happens on all surfaces but grass for whatever reason shows the weird blurry/censored effect going on the best.
There should never be any reason that what began as PS2 games, especially cut-down mobile ports, should ever run poorly on the Switch, there's absolutely no reason for it when ports of games from more powerful hardware run better.
Other than GTA 6, we're in a new era of the gaming industry where companies can do what's called a "release now fix later" CD Project Red had done it, Ubisoft had done it (or just not fix it at all), and now Rockstar is doing it. All for what? MONEY!!! which is pretty sad to see.
That's why I wait to buy stuff now, heck I got a physical copy of Cyberpunk 2077, with some postcards and stuff for like $20 years later. Can't scam you if ya broke. 😅

Whats sad is that there is literally no way that Rockstar will somehow find a way to bring those old songs back... Sure PC gamers can bring them back using mods but the ppl on console cannot do that meaning they are at the mercy of Rockstar if they want their 60 Dollar package to be fully complete
Yeah I’m on xbox series x and I’m still not buying it… only OG game i have is the xbox 360 version of bully and the backwards compatibility is smooth. its just like the old days
So we're just not going to mention the fact that Grove Street Games seemingly completed the vast majority of this patch work over the three years since the Definitive Edition released, but Rockstar held onto all of their work until three years later, refusing to release any of it, until they finally scrubbed nearly all mention of Grove Street Games from the game, all the splash screens and logos, all except for a single mention of them in the credits, so that Rockstar could claim that they did all of the work of patching the game and not GSG? We're just going to gloss over all of that?
@@5-iwnl-596 From what I've heard reported, and I wouldn't be surprised by any measure, is that Rockstar (acting as publisher) forced the release of the Definitive edition early before much of the patch work could be completed, and then proceeded to force GSG to complete the remaining work over the next year and a half, only to hold it all, block releasing it, and wait until they were able to scrub the majority of credit away from GSG. Now they're hoping that they can get all of the credit for releasing the update, and reap all of the profit from consumers who are now purchasing the Definitive Edition post update, rather than having to pay GSG their fair share.
From what I've been hearing, this recent patch that 'fixes everything' was actually completed 2 years ago by Grove Street Games, but rockstar sat on the patch for 2 years and didn't release it until the contract with GSG ran out and they removed them from the credits. @ they really need to get their Priorities Straight otherwise how will they manage to make GTA 6 Successful Next Year. Seems like making a GTA 4 HD Port is very Unlikely unless they make some turn around with Red Dead Redemption 1 HD & PC Ports.
The fixes are simply the fixes used on the netflix release for mobile, for some reason Rockstar waited 2 years to put the patch out for console but also removed the credits for "grove street games" I hope rockstar have finally learned their lesson with war drum studios (GSG) as they were utterly useless and just as bad first time around remastering GTA-SA for ps3
Unfortunately, just recently, sad news has come out that 2 of the GTA Definitive Edition games, which are GTA DE 3 and GTA DE VC, are being removed from the App Store and Netflix 😭
@@AL-lh2ht Rockstar didn't screw them over, all they figured out was GSG had no chance of finishing, even if they had the extra 8 months of time to work on the game before launch they still wouldn't of made it acceptable as it took them nearly 3 years and rockstar had to get another studio to do it
In a weird way though, I do respect Rockstar for actually making these changes. I feel like after this point, 3 years as he said in this video, most developers would give up and say something like "Ah, it's dogshit. Oh, well. GTA 6 is coming soon anyway right?". But they took the time to at fix bugs for what most of their demographic/user audience is people who bought the game a long time ago expecting little to no chance. Maybe i'm being too generous though

I cant quite tell what it is but Mutahs videos styles have been a little different feeling recently and I like it, again idk how to explain or if anything even is different.
GTA 3 did NOT look ok in the original version. Maybe if you only look at screenshots but when actually playing it, all the atmosphere was gone. I still think they should have used softer lighting techniques and had similar character designs as the original games to match the original artstyle but this undeniably looks a LOT better than on release. It is currently in a state where I could actually recommend playing the remastered trilogy if you don’t want to go through the trouble of emulating on installing patches for the PC ports of the original releases.
Exactly lol. Regardless of how money hungry some companies are, no matter what choices they make it always seems to not be enough for fans. Delayed? we're never gonna get it. Bad launch? they should fix it. They fix it? too late. Like bruh, I get that they should do better but shit happens, especially in game dev.
Someone else I watch said that these games should have been released separately, so they could have more focus on each game's remastering work, and I agree with him. How they could have done it instead was release GTA 3 in '21, Vice City in '22, and San Andreas in '24 (to commemorate its 20th anniversary, and more time to touch it up since it's the biggest game of the 3 GTA games). However, what's done is done, but I'm still hesitant to pull the trigger on getting the "definitive" trilogy.
3 years later, there was no excuse for Rockstar to release it in that state to begin with.

Still the mobile port and the vice city faggio still has only 1 sound, no gears. Instantly max RPM the second you touch the pedal
The games are still messed up. A lot of characters don't look right and there is still a problem with the car collision system
I thought I was going to weep when I saw Cesar and Catalina 🫠
Yeah and the controls on switch are ass. Trying to drive straight in gta 3 is harder than dark souls.
Theres still audio problems, x and y sensitivity is fucked and much more lmao
The camera angle during driving is also way too high, even in the low setting.
Not to mention the game is still rocking that poorly upscaled 2 decade of textures, that are present everywhere.
Fixing the lighting is neat, but boy oh boy do they got a LOT to work on before this version becomes even a competent "remaster"
Who remembers running home from school, because Grand Theft Auto Vice City and San Andreas was out of this world to us. I remember playing those games for hours and hours everyday, and you never got bored. Not updates no patches. Makes me wanna tear up, time flies so fast.
The good old days
My high school laptop was a Vice City vehicle
I’m glad I had the og versions already
Back then when games were made with passion and effort, now they are made as quickly as possible to make as much money as they can, hence why we now rarely get new original games and get constant remakes of older games.
@CháleloTheAtheist 1000% man. They made art with what tools they had at the time. Now they abuse the simplicity afforded to them by the advanced technology. Really, a lot of creative stuff has stagnated late 2000s and onward
Sweet! If only it wasn't 3 years too late.
why does this ALWAYS happen? why do we need to ALWAYS wait YEARS for a working product? there's kids these days that played one version as a kid, then a "fixed" version when they're 20 years old!!
Good to hear. These games are perfect for me to run around in while waiting for laundry on Sundays. Glad they fixed em. Thanks for the update, Muta!
Fixing a game later on *never* justifies a disastrous launch. Don’t give them your money for this disgrace of a “remaster”
they never really called it a remaster... People just got that label and ran with it, they got their hopes up
@@BlackSlimShady what would you call it, then?
@@JayLovesPI a disaster
yeah we need to stop being hypocrites, we need to stop forgiving companies for what they did just because they fixed it, like yeah, cyberpunk has still not delivered what they promised but still people celebrated the release of a police system like it was the biggest treasure in the world, a system that has been done by many games for around 15 years, we need to stop or companies will keep underdeveloping games with false promises
Hmm. I disagree. I would MUCH rather them fix a game than leave it a broken mess. Anyone who spent money on this and didn’t get a refund can only benefit from the devs fixing their game and I personally would like to encourage them to eventually fix stuff by giving them money when it’s finally fixed than tell them “don’t even bother”
What I WON’T be doing is trusting them with my money on release day. If they have any history of this then I’m waiting for reviews before I buy.
I’m glad I bought the OG collection before it was delisted and replaced with this
Me too.
I own the original trilogy on ps3/4 and PC. I don't need this crap.

@@SEEYAIAYE silentpatch is really all u need for the OG games
this really makes you understand how much goes into making the game for the sake of immersion, build piece by piece to set the... um ambiance? the theme, the vibe i guess. and yeah, some of the features added a little more to an actual remaster, but not really. good coverage on the topic and i hope they continue to improve.
12:57 I like how you are using the compact to bypass metal detector from removing your weapons.
The gta trilogy definitive edition on mobile got this update before consoles… quite the comedy 😂😂😂
That's an Xbox too
makes sense since they’re mobile ports anyways
Makes sense. I guess they wanted to at least have a nice game before making a deal with Netflix. I have to say that I don't like most Netflix series but they have quite the catalogue of games.
Oh boy, eye strain!
Except for the fact that if you launch GTA San Andreas on Mobile, it crashes.
I hate the current trend of "Fix it later" and it just becoming good now. It just gives devs permission to launch a lackluster product at full price with the promise that it'll be good 6 months to a year+ from now.
General public: nah it'll be fine
I hate it too, everyone wants to act like their No Man's Sky, but forget that builds a bad reputation and can lead to people waiting years to even get their products.
MGS Master Collection was also patched on console yesterday, brining much-needed resolution options. You're not limited to 720p, anymore.
Different game, but another case where flawed remasters of beloved classics got fixed, over a year after release.
There's hope!
I haven't taken a close look at the most recent version of the Master Collection. But it seems that the PC version finally has keyboard support!
@ninjasolidsnake They've fixed the MGS Master Collection, essentially.
I honestly forgot they released a MGS Collection, but I'm definitely curious to look into it.
@jbktpl1245 Pick it up on a sale. It comes with;
Metal Gear (MSX2)
Metal Gear (NES)
Metal Gear Snake's Revenge (NES)
Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake (MSX2)
Metal Gear Solid (PS1)
Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance HD
Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence HD
It's worth it if you're a fan, and now after the patch, MGS2 and 3 are better than the PS3/360 versions.

Yeh that blurry thing is so distracting.
Muta, the orange lights coming from your window behind you is just as nostalgic as the GTA SA's classic light comparison around 3:05
For me the worst part still that Rockstar removed the original versions to buy on Steam, gladly I had all already for ages.
It took them a couple extra days roll it out to switch, but they finally did. My biggest gripe was that desert hangar.
Other than GTA 6, we're in a new era of the gaming industry where companies can do what's called a "release now fix later"
CD Project Red had done it, Ubisoft had done it (or just not fix it at all), and now Rockstar is doing it.
All for what? MONEY!!! which is pretty sad to see.
That's because our stands have dropped beyond low.
That's why I wait to buy stuff now, heck I got a physical copy of Cyberpunk 2077, with some postcards and stuff for like $20 years later. Can't scam you if ya broke. 😅

With the old music restoration mod on pc, this is really good way to play these classics now
14:33 this is the only reason why I wouldn't recommend this version for anyone trying to play these old Trilogy games
For 60 bucks u expect to have the entire soundtrack available in the game but in reality u don't even get the iconic soundtracks for alot of these old titles which is like selling a reprint of a Harry Potter book at full price but with some of the pages being missing...
Whats sad is that there is literally no way that Rockstar will somehow find a way to bring those old songs back... Sure PC gamers can bring them back using mods but the ppl on console cannot do that meaning they are at the mercy of Rockstar if they want their 60 Dollar package to be fully complete

I really hope these new actually competent devs Remaster GTAIV.
I hope Double Eleven who did the RDR1 ports recently do them, its like the first time Rockstar ever had a good PC port with no issues
Did the new competent devs even do anything though? This patch was made by Grove street games 2 years ago
I've been waiting on this video for a while :)
They dropped a horrible game and that was them paying off the debt in rockstars eyes I suppose
I have the definitive edition on the PC. Looking forward to playing after applying the patches.

About Damn time that Rockstar Games finally Fixed this Game. Still it’s Ridiculous that we had to Wait 3 Years for this Patch.
From what I've been hearing, this recent patch that 'fixes everything' was actually completed 2 years ago by Grove Street Games, but rockstar sat on the patch for 2 years and didn't release it until the contract with GSG ran out and they removed them from the credits. The lead guy at GSG ranted about it on twitter.
@ they really need to get their Priorities Straight otherwise how will they manage to make GTA 6 Successful Next Year.
Seems like making a GTA 4 HD Port is very Unlikely unless they make some turn around with Red Dead Redemption 1 HD & PC Ports.
@AL-lh2ht Seems like a deliberate move so that Rockstar could claim the credit for themselves
I absolutely love VC to death this makes me so happy to hear since I skipped the mess they were at launch 😃
The fixes are simply the fixes used on the netflix release for mobile, for some reason Rockstar waited 2 years to put the patch out for console but also removed the credits for "grove street games"
I hope rockstar have finally learned their lesson with war drum studios (GSG) as they were utterly useless and just as bad first time around remastering GTA-SA for ps3
Look up how rockstar screwed over GSG and then blamed them for all the problems.
Unfortunately, just recently, sad news has come out that 2 of the GTA Definitive Edition games, which are GTA DE 3 and GTA DE VC, are being removed from the App Store and Netflix 😭
@@AL-lh2ht Rockstar didn't screw them over, all they figured out was GSG had no chance of finishing, even if they had the extra 8 months of time to work on the game before launch they still wouldn't of made it acceptable as it took them nearly 3 years and rockstar had to get another studio to do it
I love playing underneath my PC underneath my table, underneath my house.
