I want to apologize for the small error in the video at 5:02. For whatever reason, it’s very blurring and doesn’t play. But it only lasts for about 15 seconds. I wish I could fix it post upload, but I can’t and I’m sorry for that!
I just bought from swappa a few days ago for the first time, a phone at a very cheap price and everything was ok. But I totally agree with your opinion. If you get scammed or the seller refuses to resolve the situation, swappa won't do squat. This makes swappa a far less attractive place to buy from. I think I might stick to ebay going forward. Nothing beats a buyer protection guarantee.
I’m glad you got your money back, but it’s a shame Swappa didn’t do anything to help you out. As the middle man, they should really be protecting their users against scammers.
Hey Adam - so nice to hear that you had a similar experience to mine. My first experience with Swappa was great. I also got an iPad Pro at a great deal. No problems. Then I bought a MacBook Pro that arrived with some serious dents because the (also new) seller packed it in an envelope rather than a box. Who does that?! He clearly skimped on shipping & handling to save a few bucks for himself, but I lost out in the process. Despite that, my Mac is miraculously fully functional (thank God) but I still was hoping to get some kind of resolution from Swappa, like a partial refund at least. Nothing from them, either. I'm thinking of posting my own video review about my experience but glad you already have yours. People need to know this!
Oh wow, that’s awful. I’m so sorry you had to do with this as well. It would really bother me if my MacBook was delivered like that. I wish Swappa did something for you because the damage is the seller’s fault and the condition doesn’t match the initial images. I really hope they change how they treat buyers.
It's a shame you had to go through all of this Adam, I'm glad you eventually got your money back in the end, but shame on Swappa for being so inactive!
I am happy to finally have my money back. I could see how this could be an issue for those especially on a tighter budget if their money is locked up and they don’t get their promised product. Thank you so much for your support brother!
A quick solution for these situations is to purchase with a Credit Card with purchase protection. Handle everything through the credit card and forget about the other parties involved. You don't need them to bounce the transaction. Thats what I did with a company that renewed a subscription when I no longer wanted their services, they denied me a refund so I just disputed the transaction on the card and viola. I almost don't blame them for having bad policies but it can be a sour experience when you're at the mercy of a company like paypal or ebay.

I had a Fitbit Ionic for sale around Christmas. It sold pretty quickly. The buyer contacted me about getting it to him asap as it was a gift for his wife. So I paid extra postage out of my own pocket and stood in line at the post office for over an hour. The buyer refused the shipment. Not only did I lose the sale, I lost money and time and the Fitbit was tied up in the return to me. Swappa could have cared less. Also to post anything for sale is beyond stupid. I do not care how detailed you are, most of the time they will come back and make you redo something in your listing, like putting your listing number beside the item and not up above it. I hate them and will never use them again. It seems to me they are a lot more concerned about the buyer than the person doing all the work, the seller. There are many many alternative platforms to use.
Swappa is run by vindictive idiots. I tried several times to sell a phone and their incompetent employees kept screwing up the listing (I've sold phones there before so I know what I'm doing). One up and canceled the listing claiming a screen defect (which was not true; it was a new/open box phone), but there is NO way to respond directly to them. I emailed them and very firmly took issue with their incompetence, and in retribution they disabled my account and banned me from the site. I've even tried to reach their CEO, Ben Edwards for help, and he won't answer. Avoid Swappa at all costs.
Hi Adam. We're sorry you experienced this. As you know this definitely isn't the norm on Swappa and we don't allow broken devices. That seller or any any seller that behaves like that isn't welcome on Swappa and this seller was immediately banned.

I find it unlikely given the issues with it. The battery was quite swollen and pushed out as well. There seems to be a low chance of that happening in the 2 days it took to ship.

I'm so sorry to hear about your bad experience with Swappa as well 😔
@@AdamReviewsTech yeah i dont like they seem like a scam now
thank you for the helpful video! definitely not buying a ps5 now. I'm too scared to get scammed. Although you struggled :( I'm glad you got your money back!
I’m glad the video was useful. I completely understand and I appreciate you watching!
Is it normal for your money to be on hold in your PayPal account after you make a sell? I sold an iPhone 12 Pro and shipped it today and updated the tracking number, do i wait for a day or two to be able to have my money?
Every time that I've sold, that has not been the case. I hope your money is available by now!
@@AdamReviewsTech yea the buyer needed to accept the item and and PayPal needed a day after delivery notice, so yea I got my money😅
Oh okay gotcha. I'm glad to hear lol
What was the users name I just ordered a iPhone 12 from New Jersey on Swappa
The account was banned by Swappa.
phew, almost bought from there. i'll just go to apple.
Thank you. im not using swappa now.
i am trying to buy an oculus quest 2 off of swappa for 176 dollars which is a pretty good price but thanks for the warning i will still go for it though
Dod u get your oculus?
@@babyog6971 no
@@babyog6971 i need to look for another one and no i didnt buy it
Looking to get a ps5 on swappa can I trust it?
With a trusted seller, I'd say sure.
Thanks...
Thanks for watching
I’m sorry that this happened . File a dispute
I’ve considered it, but Swappa responded positively here which was nice.
Old friend on twitter from india
Hi, hope you’re doing well!
Trusted sellers are trysted sellers for a reason brother. Look at the stars
The issue is not that I was scammed. It was the response to the issue. In addition, I’ve bought from many with no stars because everyone starts from somewhere. I do however understand your concern.
@@AdamReviewsTech gotcha
ther is a 5 star rated market on swappa called sellword i want to buy a phone from it can i trust them?
Wow be sure to buy from good ratings
I hoped that policies in place were protective of the buyer just in case. But I understand what you mean
Dude out here lying for views-
Despite the proof I show and the apology given by Swappa, this must not be legit? Lol
All the people commenting they got scammed must be lying too😂
Big surprise. The platform sides with the buyer. Like that’s some fucking surprise. Sellers sadly eat shit and get robbed.
Actually I was the buyer in this case.
probably broke in shipping
I find it unlikely given the issues with it. The battery was quite swollen and pushed out as well. There seems to be a low chance of that happening in the 2 days it took to ship.
@@AdamReviewsTech and the serial number was not the same
That as well.
Had an issue with a seller selling me a defective phone. Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act is a real law since 1975 and they will not acknowledge it. I have been denied refund and I have been kicked off the site for complaining. They are making up policies that written no where !!!
**** USE AT YOUR OWN RISK *** NO REFUNDS FOR DEFECTIVE ITEMS, SWAPPA WILL NOT HELP IF SELLER DOES NOT COOPERATE.
