    Finishing games is addictive and having watched your previous videos and followed along, I'm so happy you finally got over that hump. Hopefully this will Kickstart your momentum going forward

    You did great for your first game jam. Finishing games is a very important skill to learn, so it's good that you finished this game! Good luck with your future projects.

    Tips for another jam - dont make a menu (a quick pause menu at most), dont make a shop, a tutorial. Pretty much only focus on the audio, gameplay and visuals :)
    Mostly the people that rate the game dont care about the audio levels or a quit button.
    Also I enjoyed the game I think it was surprisingly fun for a pong game haha
    Edit - if your game isn't supposed to be endless be sure to make a solid start and ending

      I get what you're saying but I feel like the big reason this game did so well was because of the tutorial, shop and menu, because it made the game feel a lot more polished, plus I also have to add that the gameplay was extremely simple and I had a lot of time left, also the game without a menu and shop would be boring as hell, and this made it a lot more interesting. So like I said, I get what you're saying but I don't quite agree.

      @@Deynum In this case if you really wanted the game to feel very polished and didn't have more to do in terms of gameplay then ok I do understand, but mostly you should focus on the gameplay, art and audio more

    You know what's funny? I was actually working on a pong game (discontinued for now since i honestly didnt think the idea had much potential, though I may come back to it in the future.) and used that exact BM0 tutorial to help me make the prototype.

    Your game looks breath taking I especially love the menu animations and simplistic style. It would make a really fun Android game

    I’ve seen quite a few pong games with various twists and turns but this game has to be one of the most ingenious ones out of all of them. Also great job with the narration, especially for a smaller creator/dev.

    I really like the games concept. Congratulations on getting 4th as well! I would really like to see you participate in more gamejams, because they are fun to watch, and because I feel like they could help you develop some more skill and get more comfortable with unity. Can't wait for the next video, keep up the good work!

    That screen shake looks really nice. I've heard a screen shake makes everything nicer haha. Maybe I'll add that to one of my future devlogs. It's a simple game but really clean look!

    Good job on the game jam! I played your game, it looks really cool. If I may give you some feedback I would suggest removing the mouse pointer during gameplay as it can be distracting. An option could be to remove mouse control all together as it is not required to play the game and simply use WASD to navigate through the menu, with the arrow keys also being an option. Good you finished the game. I have been working on tons of game maker studio projects, but have never finished anything :)

      I'd say so, it's not the biggest ever but it's hosting by a game dev youtuber I really like (called benbonk) he has around 10k subs and makes really good videos.

    Wow.Preaty cool. But i have an game engine that is verry lightweighted and also the code is verry easy. its called godot.try out.btw i thought u were struggeling with c#. im using godot and im 11 years old its verry easy

    • @Deynum
      @Deynum  3 года назад

      I haven't said I was struggling with c# (I actually kinda like it).
      And I've tried Godot but I found it more complicated than unity and I couldn't find the right documentation for what I wanted to make, with unity that's never a problem.
