Actually, from what I've seen, Bowser Jr's Journey is much better than Bowser's Minions. It actually has its own entire subplot with actual new characters that you wouldn't see if you only played through the main game. Upon hearing all that and this final boss theme, I'm actually gonna play Bowser Jr's Journey now! It's just more to look forward to!
King Frog I also thought until I got to the middle of chucklehuck woods and it just felt like a chore to play. I finished it and gave up at gwarhar lagoon. Bowser jr’s journey felt good to play on the other hand. I finished it and didn’t feel like it was a chore not even once. So for me bowser jr’s journey is definitely better.

Save Zawarudo not necessarily. Usually if you have the right formation and use the captain commands wisely you can win most battles first try. I only had to grind a couple of times, but definitely much less than I had to in Bowser’s Minions.

They fuse together into a monstrous beast with many different powers. The final battle itself takes place in Bowser's Castle, and from what I've seen, is a really damn epic battle! I can't wait to play it myself!
