Ali, there is a lot I could say about this, but trying to type it all in on comments I’m not up to it, but what I will say is the Bible in my mind makes it very clear that one is not to partake by personal choice, the word of God makes it clear that it is Jehovah God who begets By Holy Spirit. What the speaker said was to help people to understand that is not a matter of personal choice to partake, in the very same way as it is not a personal choice to be born or choose your parents, it happens by God‘s power through your parent’s God-given creative abilities, which Jehovah himself put in them. You cannot choose to be born of the Holy Spirit to the prospects of literally a spiritual heavenly body to an inheritance in heaven before the face of God. Jesus states to Nicodemus a truth seeking Pharisee, “the wind blows where it wants to, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone who has been born from the spirit”. John 3:8. You do not choose birth, it chooses you. In a way it’s like the wind. What are the odds of your birth? It is as clear to the individual who has been born again, as it is for you to know that you are alive, and were born to this life. It is not an emotional choice or decision, you realize that you were born to this life. It’s not an emotional decision, although you can get emotional in your appreciation of the life and beauty around you that you have. Jehovah’s reproductive seed of his Spirit generates the new birth or new creation which is a different make up, personality, and desires in many ways, designed for heavenly life. If someone you dearly love and haven’t seen for 50 years suddenly appears grabbing you by the shoulders and you turn and see them even though you haven’t seen them for so long, you know who they are and you are overwhelmed, it’s amazing and you are so happy, there is no doubt in your mind, and they came from out of the blue, and there they are. That was something that had nothing to do with choice, it was like the wind. Obviously, it was the choice of the dear loved one that made their appearance to you singling you out because they wanted you. Do you see my point, the big question is, do you believe it? Can you honestly tell others this actually happened to you? or is it just a fantasy you choose to entertain? Often times we convince ourselves because we think we want something so badly but it’s not reality, we must learn to know the difference between reality and self delusion. If every Christian is in a covenant to a heavenly inheritance then what Christians are going to live on Paradise on earth? If all Christians are invited to kingship in Christ’s Kingdom then who are they going to govern on earth? Heaven was never mankind’s future, his future was to live in peace and harmony with Jehovah God on earth in a paradise of pleasure, this is still God‘s purpose. It is not a black mass, true Christians are respectful guests and friends, and appreciate all that Jesus did for us. We all pray for “this kingdom to come on earth as is in heaven, God’s will, be done”. THIS IS WHAT I AM CONVINCED THE BIBLE TEACHS! PS. It's supposed to be a memorial in which usually one would say how much we loved the one who had died, what he had done for us etc, what he had to go through to save us. I used to love singing this song when I was in the church choir. It was so wonderful to sing precious songs to the Lord. JW’s really miss out on some of the beautifully written Christian songs. You are such an encouragement to me Ali. Helping to temper my feelings and to build up in me the prayer that JW’s can be released from bondage.
I went too. I forget the title of the first song but it was basically the congregation singing praises of itself. The talk was so sad explaining that the bread & wine were only meant for some elites who were not there.

Watchtower develops pathologies in emotionally vulnerable people. It destroys their tender human qualities. I did finally after years of not really full heartedly go all in as Jesus wanted, I finally partook and ate and drank. I saw an exjw video partaking wine and bread I felt it was right to do. What got me closer to Jesus was when I watched "The Chosen". It grabbed my heart so much I cannot stop watching it. To see the compassion he had for the people just made me cry. You showed TRUE christian love when you went there. It helped me see that the love is not there. This weekend I am going to the theater to watch season 4 three days straight. I am looking forward to it. I believe in self care too.

I’m a born in JW I was 22 when I disassociate in 1978 was not D’fd or Reproved I told my parents I was taking a Neutral stance… My parents never Shunned me even when the GB’s labeled me as an apostate… An elder told my Dad they had to Shun me he said she is my daughter you don’t know her neither the GBs … My parents love was Unconditional even when my still in JW siblings screwed up or faded too… Mind you my parents remained in the Organization to the very end of their life… I believe they stayed because of the Doctrine of the Resurrection and Everlasting life on paradise Earth …🤔

For your brother... As a jw, you're told certain things about those who leave. We understand why you think the things you do. However, they're not true. Ali has no following in the sense you mean. We watch her channel, among many others, because she's honest, kind, supportive and encouraging. We wish to give that back to her. I know you think she's an apostate, but according to the definition of the word, so is Jesus as well as the apostles. Even though you hate us, we pray for you. I went to the Memorial! I started my fade out of the JWs at the end of 2019, but my wife is an active JW pioneer, so I went for her. It's so strange going to that event now. The love bombing Is strange to me even though i expected it.

I went to the JW memorial too. I have been going and partaking now as an apostate for a couple years. I don't go to meetings cause I'm not repentant. But I'm the only one who follows Christ and partakes. Was interesting.
Yesterday, at the memorial discourse (which I followed on zoom), they dissuaded people from partaking of the bread and the wine, because they said: “the number of anointed ones are exactly 144000; not more, not less”. They are essentially urging people to turn down Jesus’ invitation to communion with Him, and thus; rejecting the privilege to be part of His Body and adopted as children of God (1Cor.10:16-17; Rom.6:4-5,8). This is the sad truth of JW Cult, that is literally involving more than 8 millions people to disobey Jesus’ command to share the Lord’s meal (1Tim.1:7; 1Tess.2:16).

As for Bible scholars, you need to read Franz more closely; after the _complete failure_ of the 1975 prediction of the Watchtower Armageddon, many earnest JWs turned to their _Bibles_ for understanding. That's why there were numerous people disfellowshipped in NY HQ. There is a huge difference between JWs then and now because we used to actually "study and believe" the Bible (as taught) and the cultist characteristics didn't really manifest themselves until ~80/90s.
Not specifically. Im not really a calendar person. I do find all the Jewish festivals fascinating and joyful...and when I first became a Christian I cared about the dates a lot. I guess Ive settled into a more relaxed walk with God.

WT hurt a lot of people....even directly responsible for death, murder, rape, csa. There's a lotta hurt that only God can ultimately heal. My question is Did your attendance at the memorial provide what you needed or what you desired? I was born in. I was a jw since 1968. I left at 47 years old. I believe I will not live long enough to remove all the indoctrination from my adult self. I believe a part of me will never heal from that experience. It's just a big sore that almost heals and then gets ripped open occasionally.I have had a personal relationship with Jesus for 7 years. My parents are dead, of the 6 children only 2 are active jws. That being said being in the org 47 years and over 20 as an elder is not something that easily goes away. Matthew 11:28-30.

Surely you must realize that words with innocent meanings can, over time and in certain contexts, take on very derogatory connotations based on how they're used. There is nothing inherently negative about the N word itself. It was originally just a description of skin complexion. But its centuries long use in the context of exclusively identifying persons who were being dehumanized and abused, gave it the most vile connotations as a label of hatred and dehumanization, and so we don't use it to label persons unless we're a truly vile person. The G word in Hebrew is similar, though perhaps not as severe in degree. Centuries of religiously motivated stigmatization and separation of Jews from non-Jews has given the word a connotation of stigmatizing and othering non-Jews. It's like the JWs' use of "worldly" to refer to non-JWs.

I was fourth generation. I never once believed that it would be wanton destruction at Armageddon. Not once. Because the God of the Bible is a God of love and justice and he does not just want and destroy people. I realize people around me must’ve believed everybody except JW‘s would be killed, but I never did. I knew and know he’s able to read hearts. Jesus was the embodiment of Jehovah‘s personality, and he was kind and loving even togross sinners. So mass destruction never made any sense to me at all. Neither does traumatizing people already traumatized by Satan‘s world with an apocalyptic event.

Your welcome im happy to see. I learned a lot after I was severely hurt by fellow humans. Also the jewish religious leaders who used the word Amharets (people of the dirt). I believe... I know, at some point if they are from God they will redefine the word apostates. Many many many many many changes are incoming. Apostates are actually very few. Most are just very hurt and broken people. (Psalms 34:18) As regards living forever on earth; I can't seem to reject the fact that God created Adam and Eve to live forever on earth, if they never ate the fruit they would still be here. I mean that is a simple fact. I cannot ignore this and God wouldn't change his original purpose for creating humanity. Nor can I ignore Jesus words at Matthew 5:5 in which he said the meek will inherent the earth. One cannot dogmaticly say there is no earthly hope, at best one can say we don't know and whatever God wants I am willing to follow.
Genuine concern, please: I have noticed that many who are called to peace. They have the road to Damascus moment and they get out of the watchtower corporation eventually start celebrating what is undoubtedly pagan holidays and symbolism. I know Satan is obsessed with symbolism. I think that it’s so important that we be cautious to stick to the scriptures and what Jesus taught, and not be led into a false sense of Christianity that is every bit as toxic as the watchtower corporation.
No one is going to heaven. Jesus is coming here to earth to bring God’s kingdom. Jesus was the first human to be resurrected as immortal. The Bible says we will be like him. Jesus commanded us to partake in remembrance of him until returns. When Jesus comes satan will be bound and that has definitely not happened yet.
Who benefits? Isaiah 65 explains the differences and similarities between the righteous living on the New Earth, living forever ,and the unrighteous living to 100 and dying. Both groups together (referred to as "they") will not build houses and someone else live in them or plant for someone else to eat while you go without. It will be a different system all will live under and all will have their own. What I find most loving is that both (they) "will not bear children to ruin." The righteous who live forever and the unrighteous under judgment will both have perfect children because of what Jesus did. Because of Jesus that Adamic sin stops and does not pass down to the children anymore. Just like with Jesus there was two imperfect parents and a perfect child, the unrighteous will experience the same. Their children and their childrens children ("descendants") will live on. The 1,000 year judgment is a day to God. Its their day of judgment not their childrens. For the righteous, it will be a 1,000 year reign with Christ.

Many get confused with what Jesus is saying in this verse Matt 22:30, thinking he's saying men will be angels and not get married, while Isaiah 65 talks about the New Earth and having children. The book of Luke adds a few more words that clear things up. Luke 20: 34 Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, 36and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels. When Jesus mentions the righteous ressurected "neither marry and are given in marriage", he's saying that they won't need to secure their future (using marriage and children to do so) because they won't die just like the angels. Not that they won't marry. Back then they used marriage to secure their future in their old age, to be taken care of when old. Jesus uses this phrase of "marrying and given in marriage" another time in a different way, in Luke 17:27 "People were eating, drinking, marrying, and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all." Here, he's pointing out how people were busy planning and securing their future with marriage and were unaware that their entire future was going to change in an instant. That's all:)

Thank you so much, Ali. I always found in the past at JW memorials that there was so little appreciation for what Jesus did for us. It's supposed to be a memorial in which usually one would say how much we loved the one who had died, what he had done for us etc, what he had to go through to save us. But none of that comes through for some reason.

I used to love singing this song when I was in the church choir. It was so wonderful to sing precious songs to the Lord. JW’s really miss out on some of the beautifully written Christian songs. You are such an encouragement to me Ali. Helping to temper my feelings and to build up in me the prayer that JW’s can be released from bondage.

I did finally after years of not really full heartedly go all in as Jesus wanted, I finally partook and ate and drank. I saw an exjw video partaking wine and bread

What got me closer to Jesus was when I watched "The Chosen". It grabbed my heart so much I cannot stop watching it. To see the compassion he had for the people just made me cry.

I’m a born in JW I was 22 when I disassociate in 1978 was not D’fd or Reproved I told my parents I was taking a Neutral stance… My parents never Shunned me even when the GB’s labeled me as an apostate… An elder told my Dad they had to Shun me he said she is my daughter you don’t know her neither the GBs … My parents love was Unconditional even when my still in JW siblings screwed up or faded too… Mind you my parents remained in the Organization to the very end of their life… I believe they stayed because of the Doctrine of the Resurrection and Everlasting life on paradise Earth …🤔

We watch her channel, among many others, because she's honest, kind, supportive and encouraging. We wish to give that back to her. I know you think she's an apostate, but according to the definition of the word, so is Jesus as well as the apostles. Even though you hate us, we pray for you. We lift you up in prayer because we love you as a fellow human, and because we love your mother and sister.

I am a ex jw...who is gay...but last year I been baptisted in the Catholic Church...it took me 4 years to get baptisted as a Christian...I feel so thankfull...now I really understand that I was under abuse in the wt..after 20 years I am ready to forgive myself and them..

Yesterday, at the memorial discourse (which I followed on zoom), they dissuaded people from partaking of the bread and the wine, because they said: “the number of anointed ones are exactly 144000; not more, not less”.
They are essentially urging people to turn down Jesus’ invitation to communion with Him, and thus; rejecting the privilege to be part of His Body and adopted as children of God (1Cor.10:16-17; Rom.6:4-5,8). This is the sad truth of JW Cult, that is literally involving more than 8 millions people to disobey Jesus’ command to share the Lord’s meal (1Tim.1:7; 1Tess.2:16).

As for Bible scholars, you need to read Franz more closely; after the _complete failure_ of the 1975 prediction of the Watchtower Armageddon, many earnest JWs turned to their _Bibles_ for understanding. That's why there were numerous people disfellowshipped in NY HQ.
There is a huge difference between JWs then and now because we used to actually "study and believe" the Bible (as taught) and the cultist characteristics didn't really manifest themselves until ~80/90s.

Not specifically. Im not really a calendar person. I do find all the Jewish festivals fascinating and joyful...and when I first became a Christian I cared about the dates a lot. I guess Ive settled into a more relaxed walk with God.

My question is Did your attendance at the memorial provide what you needed or what you desired? I was born in. I was a jw since 1968. I left at 47 years old. I believe I will not live long enough to remove all the indoctrination from my adult self. I believe a part of me will never heal from that experience. It's just a big sore that almost heals and then gets ripped open occasionally.I have had a personal relationship with Jesus for 7 years. My parents are dead, of the 6 children only 2 are active jws. That being said being in the org 47 years and over 20 as an elder is not something that easily goes away. Matthew 11:28-30.

As a Jew, I can definitely say that goy( גוי) simply means “nation” and is in the Torah hundreds of times referring to those other than the Israelites. It’s not a made up slur. But, I got the gist of what you were trying to convey.

Surely you must realize that words with innocent meanings can, over time and in certain contexts, take on very derogatory connotations based on how they're used. There is nothing inherently negative about the N word itself. It was originally just a description of skin complexion. But its centuries long use in the context of exclusively identifying persons who were being dehumanized and abused, gave it the most vile connotations as a label of hatred and dehumanization, and so we don't use it to label persons unless we're a truly vile person. The G word in Hebrew is similar, though perhaps not as severe in degree. Centuries of religiously motivated stigmatization and separation of Jews from non-Jews has given the word a connotation of stigmatizing and othering non-Jews. It's like the JWs' use of "worldly" to refer to non-JWs.

I was fourth generation. I never once believed that it would be wanton destruction at Armageddon. Not once. Because the God of the Bible is a God of love and justice and he does not just want and destroy people. I realize people around me must’ve believed everybody except JW‘s would be killed, but I never did. I knew and know he’s able to read hearts. Jesus was the embodiment of Jehovah‘s personality, and he was kind and loving even togross sinners. So mass destruction never made any sense to me at all. As regards living forever on earth; I can't seem to reject the fact that God created Adam and Eve to live forever on earth, if they never ate the fruit they would still be here. Nor can I ignore Jesus words at Matthew 5:5 in which he said the meek will inherent the earth.
One cannot dogmaticly say there is no earthly hope, at best one can say we don't know and whatever God wants I am willing to follow.
Genuine concern, please: I have noticed that many who are called to peace. They have the road to Damascus moment and they get out of the watchtower corporation eventually start celebrating what is undoubtedly pagan holidays and symbolism. I know Satan is obsessed with symbolism. I think that it’s so important that we be cautious to stick to the scriptures and what Jesus taught, and not be led into a false sense of Christianity that is every bit as toxic as the watchtower corporation.

No one is going to heaven. Jesus is coming here to earth to bring God’s kingdom. Jesus was the first human to be resurrected as immortal. The Bible says we will be like him. Jesus commanded us to partake in remembrance of him until returns. When Jesus comes satan will be bound and that has definitely not happened yet.
Who benefits?
Isaiah 65 explains the differences and similarities between the righteous living on the New Earth, living forever ,and the unrighteous living to 100 and dying.
Both groups together (referred to as "they") will not build houses and someone else live in them or plant for someone else to eat while you go without. It will be a different system all will live under and all will have their own.
What I find most loving is that both (they) "will not bear children to ruin."
The righteous who live forever and the unrighteous under judgment will both have perfect children because of what Jesus did. Because of Jesus that Adamic sin stops and does not pass down to the children anymore. Just like with Jesus there was two imperfect parents and a perfect child, the unrighteous will experience the same. Their children and their childrens children ("descendants") will live on.
The 1,000 year judgment is a day to God. Its their day of judgment not their childrens. For the righteous, it will be a 1,000 year reign with Christ.

Many get confused with what Jesus is saying in this verse Matt 22:30, thinking he's saying men will be angels and not get married, while Isaiah 65 talks about the New Earth and having children.
The book of Luke adds a few more words that clear things up.
Luke 20:
34 Jesus replied, “The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. 35But those who are considered worthy of taking part in the age to come and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be given in marriage, 36and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels.
When Jesus mentions the righteous ressurected "neither marry and are given in marriage", he's saying that they won't need to secure their future (using marriage and children to do so) because they won't die just like the angels. Not that they won't marry. Back then they used marriage to secure their future in their old age, to be taken care of when old.
Jesus uses this phrase of "marrying and given in marriage" another time in a different way, in Luke 17:27
"People were eating, drinking, marrying, and being given in marriage up to the day Noah entered the ark. Then the flood came and destroyed them all."
Here, he's pointing out how people were busy planning and securing their future with marriage and were unaware that their entire future was going to change in an instant.
