I have seen guys successfully drill different upper mounting holes in the shock tower. However, it is just kind of a guess and hope thing. You really only have room to drill one or two holes.
I assume that you are talking about the big nut that is on the shock body? No, what is shown in the video is correct. You should be tightening the nut down against the fixed part of the shock. If you ran the nut up on the shock (towards the spring) it wouldn't do anything.
I think your super smart.i put a 6 inch spindel jakes lift and my tires are wacked.i bought these struts but either top tire leans in or if i switch bolt hole leans out.i try to move the shock like you did and doesnt change.im so frustrated
I had my rear shocks replaced on my 2022 Yamaha drive 2 since I added a rear facing seat. The problem now is the camber seem to be off in the rear, the tires have horrible wear and the ride is so bumpy so now I am replacing the tires. It has 12 inch rims with 215x35x12 and Im going to replace with 215x50x12 tires but I don't want to ruin these tires. the outside edge is bumpy and you can tell its out of adjustment. Is this fixable, cant find any videos that talk about the rear tires and adjustments.
There is no camber adjustment on the rear tires. If you believe there is an issue, take it to your dealer since it should still be under warranty. Installing HD rear shocks is going to make your cart ride rougher as they are stiffer shocks. Try setting your tire pressure to 14 psi.

Would it be possible to drill a hole in the existing shocks?

I think you turned/tightened that bottom spring cap retaining nut the wrong way?

Thanks for the reply, love the videos@@PowerEquipmentMan
Which shocks did you put in?
why wouldn't you just call the dealer and ask. ....I would think the same shock is already on carts regardless if there wa a backseat
At what year should I replace my shocks on a 2019 DR 2
I've seen carts with 20 year old shocks that still worked ok. If yours is a 2019, I would guess that they are fine.
Thanks!
Thank you for your support!
Would these work on my g2
No.
