I mean this was largely financial. This assures SAC stays below the luxury tax line even if everyone hits their likely and unlikely incentives. They couldn’t have done that by waiving and stretching McDaniels, and he’s just not very good anyway. McDermott is fairly washed too and probably won’t play much, but I’d guess he’s on a non gtd but who knows. Regardless, this allows them to have cushion under the tax line while signing a minimum guy. It’s not much more complicated than that. I can’t fathom them trading for BI, it doesn’t really make sense. Not a good fit at all. Not trying to hate, just a cap nerd and people don’t realize a large amount of transactions are mostly, or sometimes purely financially motivated. SAC is going to be a tax team in the future, no need to start the repeater tax clock yet.
ive been ignoring the lakers preseason games and have been locked on watching the bulls preseason games and oh my oh my does zach lavine look good he's as healthy and explosive as ever and i can definitely see himself playing so well to the point his trade value substantially increases. with derozan gone i can easily zach averaging 28 6 and 5 on 50 40 85 shooting splits. lakers are fumbling a true game changing opportunity smh
