- Rockets are not currently offering max contracts to Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun. Most teams would look at those 2 young players as corner stones of their franchise but the Rockets seem interested in moving off of the both of them.

Any team in NBA would pay Sengun max contract but I can't see anyone paying Jalen max or anything close to the max.

That's where you are wrong.. MOST teams WONT pay Sengun, just look at Sabonis, how many teams has he been on? Truth is, ALP needs the ball to be effective, not to many teams are taking the ball out of their star guard hands to give to a Center not named Embiid or Jokic. And even with Jokic, he didn't win until Murray came back. Sengun reminds me of Enes Kanter

1) If you are shopping one and pay the other now, then the value drops big time of the one your shopping.
2) If you trade one of them with other assets and get a star in return with a big contract, then you can sign the other and go over the cap.
3) If you sign both you cannot go over the cap...now or the following years with the signing of the other young core that will be happening every year for 3 to 4 years.

They were talking about this subject on NBA Today yesterday. With teams not having cap space and the teams w space scared to spend money, next summer is going to be test for how effective this new CBA really is. Unfortunately these young players don’t have the same leverage they used to.

I think it’s important to consider the actual gameplay. As a rockets fan, their play style just don’t complement each other. It’ll boil down to if Jalen becomes more efficient and consistent, or if sengun shows some defensive improvement, and shoots well. Imo at least

They do. But there's no pressure because they'll be restricted and can match any other team's offer sheet in free agency. I believe they'll pick one over the other.
The real concern that people are not focusing on is, "What are the chances they lose them BOTH in free agency?".
It's extremely rare to hear that a team's two best players (young ones at that) will become a RFA/UFA at the same time.

They are not high level max money guys, and tax with restrictions is detrimental.
